(Clearwisdom.net, October 13, 2003) Over the weekend, Dafa practitioners from different countries gathered at the Old Market Square Park in Houston, Texas to start the 3-day event celebrating the seventh anniversary of Master Li's teaching the Fa in Houston. Practitioners also called upon people from all walks of life to pay attention to the ongoing persecution of Falun Gong in China.

October 12, 2003 marked the seventh anniversary of Master Li's teaching the Fa in Houston. Seven years ago (in 1996), Teacher was invited to give lectures in Houston and was warmly welcomed. Since then, Falun Gong has spread to several dozen cities in Texas and throughout the United States, as well as the entire world.
To commemorate this historic day, Dafa practitioners from Texas decided to hold this 3-day event. Activities included group exercises, a parade calling for justice and conscience, art performance, news conferences, a peaceful appeal in front of the Chinese Consulate, candlelight vigil to commemorate fellow practitioners in China killed in the persecution, a symbolic trial of Jiang and a cultivation experience sharing conference. More than a thousand practitioners from North America, Europe, and many countries and areas in Asia-Pacific regions attended this series of activities.
This event received much support and encouragement from people of different circles. At present, we have received several dozen congratulatory letters and proclamations issued by U.S. Congress Members of Texas, Houston City government, and Mayors of other cities. These government officials highly praised Falun Dafa for improving people's physical and mental health and its contribution to promoting peace and stability throughout the entire society. They also expressed their admiration of Dafa disciples for their great spirit, and the compassion and tolerance they embodied under the most severe situation. Officials also expressed that they would continue to support Falun Gong and help end this brutal persecution.
