When I had first begun to practice Falun Dafa, I understood that as a good person, one should tell the truth. Therefore, I required myself to tell the truth no matter whether it was during communication with other practitioners or in my daily work and life. As long as it was something that I knew, I would answer strictly according to the facts without reservation.
After I had cultivated for some time, I found that if I told non-practitioners all the Fa-principles that I understood, I could not achieve any good result. Instead I would cause misunderstandings, and even cause predestined people to miss the opportunity and a predestined relationship. Therefore, I only tell everyday people the meanings on the surface, how to be a good person and the effects of curing disease and keeping fit after practicing Falun Gong. Consequently, I also understand that telling the truth is not the same as saying everything one has learned. I realized that I should speak according to the audience's ability to understand and accept, and I could not casually tell others about the Fa-principles and heavenly secrets that I have been enlightened to. This also belongs to the cultivation of speech.
After July 20, 1999, Jiang's regime brutally persecuted Falun Gong and Falun Gong practitioners. Tens of thousands of Dafa disciples stepped forward to validate the Fa, and I am one of them. During the process of validating Dafa and clarifying the truth to everyday people, I got to know many practitioners from different areas.
After I was kidnapped, while they were interrogating me, the police said, "Don't you practice Zhen-Shan-Ren (Truth-Compassion-Tolerance)? Then you have to answer all questions that we ask you according to the facts. If you don't tell the truth, then you fail to achieve Zhen-Shan-Ren." I answered them calmly, "Whether I have achieved Zhen-Shan-Ren or not does not depend on your recognition. You illegally kidnapped me and took me to the police station and took away my personal belongings. What you have done is no different from robbers and hooligans. How can a group of criminals be qualified to talk with me about Zhen-Shan-Ren? It should be me that teaches you how to tell the truth!" Those policemen's face became red and they all felt ashamed after I said this. Then the interrogation came to an end without any result.
When my righteous thoughts were very strong, I could use wisdom to clarify the truth to those policemen who "interrogated" me and tried to "transform" me, and in the end I did not have to say those words of "repentance" that I did not want to say. During the past years' detention, though I suffered from many hardships and had been interrogated several hundred times, police failed to get from me any information that might affect another practitioner's safety. No policeman dared to beat or curse me either.
Master Li says,
"When an evil-minded person is thinking of something bad, this person might change his mind due to the powerful effect of your field; he might then no longer want to commit the wrongdoing. Perhaps a person wants to swear at someone. Suddenly, he may change his mind and will not want to swear. Only the energy field from cultivation practice in a righteous way can produce this effect. Therefore, in the past there was this saying in Buddhism: í The Buddha-light illuminates everywhere and rectifies all abnormalities.' This is what it means"(Zhuan Falun).
What I enlightened to is this: when I treat myself as a Dafa disciple and dissolve into Dafa, under the influence of the righteous Fa's energy field, those policemen won't be able to remember those abusive words, nor will they be able to beat me. Therefore, when they "interrogated" me, those policemen either had a good talk with me and were touched by my compassion and talking, or those "interrogations" would have some accidental changes and terminate quickly without any result. This showed that under the effects of the righteous Fa's energy field, those evil things are either assimilated, or they escape in a hurry.
Speaking from another perspective, if we spoke out about another practitioners' situation and allowed police to arrest them and damage the truth materials production site, then those policemen would do damage to the Fa-rectification, obstruct Dafa disciples from offering salvation to sentient beings and worse things, which are crimes they would never be able to pay off even if they went to hell. In order to stop those ignorant policemen from committing such big crimes and save them from being eliminated, we could not casually tell them other practitioners' situations; and this is also compassion to those policemen. In addition, we should also clarify the truth to them (tell the truth), tell them Falun Dafa is good and tell them the heavenly principle that good will be rewarded with good and evil will be met with evil.
Recently, I have read articles on the Internet that after the police arrested some practitioners, these practitioners could not properly maintain their Xinxing [heart and mind nature; moral character] and said some unnecessary words, which in turn led to a series of problems and caused many unnecessary losses. Therefore I started to think about writing down this experience article and sharing it with other practitioners. A Dafa disciple in a good cultivation state will definitely not allow police to set up a trap in his or her home. They could have many ways to make those policemen leave their homes, or they could manage to inform other practitioners not to come to their homes. As long as we could think of the other fellow practitioners' safety first of all at critical moments, we can deal with problems with wisdom and reduce the losses.
The key thing is that some practitioners have attachments of fear themselves and don't have enough righteous thoughts to keep them from being used by the evil. That means that their space dimensions are not righteous and pure enough, so that evil would be able to stay and further persecute other practitioners.
