(Clearwisdom.net) Recently, the book Poisonous Deceit has appeared in the truth-clarifying materials in our city. I have some thoughts about this, which I would like to share.
Poisonous Deceit was not written by a Falun Dafa practitioner, but rather, by an official in the current ruling Party; it simply shows righteous people's attitude towards Dafa. In the present malicious environment of China, it is praiseworthy that there can be such an official with a righteous mind, who dares to support Falun Gong and disclose the evil. However, I do not think that it is appropriate to directly take this book as independent truth-clarifying material. The understandings and opinions of people in society cannot always meet the requirements of Fa-rectification.
In fact, what they write will have all kinds of notions in it, and cannot be compared with the purity of mind of Dafa practitioners who go through cultivation. Therefore, using the understandings of people in society as the main focus of Dafa truth-clarifying materials will not have the required level of purity. If we only use the articles that these people write to expose the evil, it will reduce the power of Fa-rectification. Only the most pure and righteous materials are likely to move people's hearts and have the power to help people change their views and purify their minds.
Of course, it is no problem at all to use such articles and other positive understandings towards Dafa as reference or auxiliary materials in clarifying the truth. However, the key is to properly balance the content and proportion of these additional materials. Basically, it is Dafa disciples who are saving people. Certainly, some people in society have a role in assisting this work. However, we must be clear that it's not their role to clarify the truth, with Dafa disciples assisting.
At the same time, the appearance of this book brings up a very crucial issue: Some practitioners developed attachments towards Poisonous Deceit, and treated it with human thoughts such as, "It's written by a high ranking official, it's convincing." Instead, they should use rationality to assess the content of the truth-clarifying materials, and should better understand the leading role of Dafa disciples in Fa-rectification. This situation also reflects the fact that sometimes in our own minds we don't take sufficient responsibility towards truth clarification. Actually, truth-clarification work requires us all to maintain strict standards and to take complete responsibility. This includes every aspect of the work, including downloading, producing, shipping and distributing the materials. We ought to spend time reading the materials carefully and evaluating everything from the Fa. We must respond when there is a problem, and try our best to make Dafa truth-clarifying materials readable and reflect our purity. We need to let the people clearly understand the evil, and show them the beauty of Dafa.
