1. [Northern China] 100 Participants Successfully Hold An Experience-Sharing Conference
On June 17, about 100 Falun Dafa practitioners successfully participated in an experience-sharing conference somewhere in Northern China. The conference started at 10 am and finished at 6 pm. All practitioners safely returned home. On their way home, practitioners clarified the truth of the persecution to the long-distance bus driver and passengers. On the bus, a Kungfu movie was being shown, so the passengers who had come to understand the truth asked for the movie to be stopped and for permission to play a VCD about the truth of Falun Gong instead. As a result, passengers had a better understanding of Falun Gong and many asked for a VCD to take home to their families.
2. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Authorities Illegally Sentence Practitioners To Stiff Prison Terms Without Trial
Jiamusi Qianjin District Court sentenced Zhang Chunjie, female, 45, to 4 years in prison without a trial.
Yang Yongping, female, 43, a university lecturer in Jiamusi City, was arrested by Xinhua Police Station, Xiangyang Police Subdivision of Jiamusi City and held at a detention center. She was sentenced to 3 years in prison without trial.
Dong Lingui, female, 56, was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
Sun Guirong, female, 63, was sentenced to 7 years in prison.
On the evening of August 19, Jiamusi TV Station reported that the Yonghong Court of Jiamusi City sentenced Falun Dafa practitioners Dong Lingui (female) and Sun Guirong (female) to 7 years and 12 years respectively without trials. Dong was arrested on January 8 when a Dafa materials production site was discovered, and Sun was taken away when the police ransacked her home on February 3. The two practitioners shown on TV were beyond recognition as result of being tortured, but one couldn't miss seeing their courage and steadfastness in their beliefs. Sun apparently lost close to 25 kg of weight. It is said that she vomits and defecates blood frequently. Her life is in danger. Both Dong and Sun will be sent to Harbin Prison in the near future.
3. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Meng Peihua's Family Is Brutally Persecuted
Tipped-off by local people, Meng Peihua and three other practitioners were arrested by police while distributing truth-clarifying materials on December 15, 2001. They were subsequently detained for 15 days and their bicycles were confiscated. When their families asked for the bicycles, the police told them they had to paint over the Falun Dafa signs on the walls before the bicycles would be returned. The families refused and the bicycles were not returned. On December 28, 2001, Meng Peihua's husband, Zhou Hengjun, daughter Zhou Yongmei, both practitioners, were taken from their home by the local police. The police also confiscated a TV, a cassette player and 1,000 Yuan (Chinese currency, the average monthly income of an urban worker is 500 Yuan) in cash. On May 26, 2002, the police intended to put Zhou Hengjun on a secret trial. With righteous thoughts sent by local practitioners, the trial was aborted and Zhou was returned to the detention center. Three days later, Yongmei was secretly tried but no details are available of the result. She is still being held at Qingdao Dashan Detention Center and is not allowed any visitors.
Zhou Hengjun's son, Zhou Yongyu was expelled from Laixi City Nangang Middle School for practicing Falun Dafa. He has already missed one semester and is not allowed to return to the school even after repeated requests.
4. [Mianyang City, Sichuan Province] Torture at Xinhua Forced Labor Camp
Practitioners at the Xinhua Forced Labor Camp are not allowed much rest or sleep. They are forced to do hard labor in the daytime, and at the night they are forced to stand till 2 am and then get up at 5 a.m. Some have only been allowed one hour of sleep.
5. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] The 610 Office of Huancui Police Station Steals Practitioners' Personal Belongings
In August 2002, a local 610 Office (an agency specifically created to persecuteáFalun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.) illegally arrested a female practitioner and took her wallet, cell phone, pager, phone cards, cell phone cards, 1,300 Yuan in cash, and her salary card (with 4000 Yuan available). One of the perpetrators is Liu Huajian, who might be the Chief of the police station.

Practitioner Mr. Yao was sentenced to 1 year in a labor camp, which left his 80-year-old parents to manage alone. Since Yao was arrested, his mother has been depressed. His father has uremia and can hardly look after himself. The mother cries a lot and has difficulty walking. When I went to see them, I couldn't bear to see their suffering. The mother said to me through her tears, "The government doesn't know how to tell right from wrong. My son has been a much better person since he took up Falun Gong. Why did they arrest him and leave the two of us so helpless?" Then talking to herself she said, "Son, when are you coming back? Mom misses you. I wonder how they have tortured you." With trembling hands, she tried to wipe her tears that just kept coming. She then looked at me kindly and asked: "I would like to learn Falun Gong. Could you teach me?"
7. [Changchun, Jilin Province] At Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp It's OK If You Take Drugs, But Not If You Want to Be A Good Person
At Changchun Chaoyanggou forced labor camp, there were some criminals addicted to drugs, who bribe their supervisors to get them drugs. However, the police use all kinds of methods to torture Dafa practitioners for believing in Truth, Compassion, and Forbearance. Looking at these two scenarios, it's not hard to tell evil from righteousness.
8. [Guangzhou, Guangdong Province] Dafa Practitioners Zhu Luoxin and Wang Rong Were Wrongfully Sentenced To Long Terms In Prison by Baiyun District Court
Dafa practitioners Zhu Luoxin, Wang Rong, and Wu Biyun, females, were detained on December 3, 2001, and illegally tried on June 10, 2002. On August 20, 2002, they were sentenced at Baiyun district court: Zhu Luoxin received 10 years, Wang Rong received 6 years, and Wu Biyun was taken away by police. The illegal trial was held in the absence of any family members. Zhu Luoxin and Wang Rong will appeal their sentences to the Supreme Court.
9. [Changtu County, Liaoning Province] Wang Yu Spread Deceitful Lies
Wang Yu, went against the principles of Truth, Compassion, and Forbearance shortly after July 20, 1999 (when the persecution started). For three years, he has been absurdly and continuously spreading ridiculous rumors. Recently, he called upon some collaborators who went against Truth, Compassion, and Forbearance due to being brainwashed under Jiang's regime, and spread rumors that deceive himself and others.
10. [Weiyuan County, Sichuan Province] A Dafa Practitioner Was Abducted By the Evil Police
It was reported that a practitioner by the last name of Chen, female, 21, was illegally taken away by police at 1 pm on August 23 while she was using the Internet. She was held in a detention center.
11. [Wuhu, Hubei Province] Police Forcefully Detained Dafa Practitioners
Recently, Dafa practitioner Wang Chuming was forcefully arrested by Wuhu police and taken to the brainwashing classes in the Heshan hotel. To boycott the evil's persecution, he has been on a hunger strike since 9:00 am August 18.
Evil police arrested Dafa practitioners Jia Sha, He Wei, and Li Shuizhen when they were chatting at home, and were detained at the Wuhu detention center.
12. [Dongjiagou County, Liaoning Province] Local Government Held Falun Gong Practitioner In Brainwashing Classes
Around July 10, 2002, local government personnel and officers from the Meiyao Frontier Defense police station in Meiyao village tried to force all Dafa practitioners in the village to attend a "meeting." The practitioners firmly boycotted the evil's orders. The officers then went to practitioners' homes and work units and tried to force them to sign documents or write "statements of repentance", which all of the practitioners also firmly rejected. Therefore, on the afternoon of August 15, the police forcefully arrested one Dafa practitioner from his job in a factory, and sent him to the brainwashing classes in the Dalian Heishijiao Linhai hotel. He still has not been released.
13. [Jinzhou District, Liaoning Province] Dafa Practitioners Are Illegally Detained
Officers from the police station illegally arrested Dafa practitioner Miao Junjie, male, about 32, on July 20, 2002 while he was walking on the street. He has been illegally detained at Dalian Yaojia police station because of steadfastly cultivating Dafa, and has suffered inhuman treatment.
On the morning of April 28, 2002, Dafa practitioner Jiangbo, male, 32, was arrested while visiting his friend's home, (also a Dafa practitioner). Both practitioners are still being illegally detained at Longwang Coastal Defense police station.
14. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Wuhan University Dafa Practitioner Wu Zhenxing Was Illegally Sentenced To A Forced Labor Camp
Wu Zhenxing, a Dafa practitioner from Wuhan University, was taken from his home by police on May 12, and illegally detained for over a month at the Wuhan 610 brainwashing classes in Yangyuan, Wuchang city. Police recently arrested him again and he was sentenced to one and a half years in a forced labor camp.

When people from outside Shanghai city fill out the application forms for Shanghai city citizenship, they have to write slanderous comments about Falun Gong.
