Washington File: Senator Criticizes China's Suppression of Falun Gong

Senator Christopher Bond (Republican of Missouri) praised the Falun Gong in remarks from the Senate floor September 25, and chastised the Beijing regime for its suppression of that group.

Falun Dafa Practitioner Zhou Yuling from Fushun City, Liaoning Province Dies in "610 Office" Custody

On August 30, 2002, Falun Dafa practitioner Zhou Yuling from Fushun City Liaoning Province was illegally placed under arrest by the police for posting truth-clarifying materials in Qingyuan Manchu Autonomous County. After being detained in Dashagou Detention Center for 20 days, the "610 Office" (an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems) police tortured her to death on September 20th and quickly cremated her body.

Torture Death of Dafa Practitioner Zhang Tao in the Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp

(Clearwisdom.net) Zhang Tao was a fifty-year-old male Dafa practitioner who lived in Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province. He was illegally detained at the Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp many times for appealing on behalf of Falun Dafa. In July 2002, Zhang Tao held a hunger strike in the forced labor camp to protest the persecution and was force-fed an unknown drug, which caused vomiting and diarrhea. Zhang Tao also experienced a severe rise in body temperature. Even under such circumstances, Zhang Tao was still sent to a solitary compartment, where he was handcuffed and hung up in the air until he lost consciousness. He was then finally sent to the Wanjia Hospital. Zhang Tao passed away the next day.
