1. [Jilin Province] Public Security Department Conspires to Launch Large-scale Arrest of Falun Gong Practitioners
According to a person in the know, based on orders from Jiang's regime, the public security department of Jilin province issued an order to public security units and street offices at each level, requiring them to follow the direction of the "610 Office" [a bureau that was specifically created by the Chinese government to persecute Falun Gong. It has absolute power over each level within the Party, as well as the political and judicial branches]. This order required that those practitioners who persisted in practicing Falun Gong after July 20, 2002 be tracked. In addition, the relatives and friends of practitioners would be used to mingle with practitioners in attempt to closely monitor the practitioners' activities. Once sufficient information is obtained, the "610 Office" and local policemen would launch a large-scale arrest of practitioners. This order was not only issued to Changchun but also nationwide.
2. [Nanle County, Henan Province] Dafa Practitioner Hao Yunxin Illegally Sentenced to Jail for Three Years
Hao Yunxin, male, 58, is a Dafa practitioner living in Haozhuang Village, Nanle County, Henan Province. He started practicing Falun Dafa in December of 1996. On December 20, 2001, Hao, along with other local practitioners, went to Beijing to validate the Fa. The following day in the early morning, Hao and others were intercepted by policemen from Liuliqiao Police Station in the Fengtai region of Beijing. They were later taken back to the local police station and imprisoned in the Nanle County Detention Center for 5 months. On May 17, 2002, the procurator of Nanle County accused Hao of "using [slanderous word omitted] to obstruct law enforcement." At about 4:00 PM on May 30th, the Nanle County Court held an illegal trial for Hao. During the "trial," no defense counsel was allowed to represent Hao and no family members were permitted to enter the courtroom. After several rounds of negotiation, some of Hao's relatives were able to enter the courtroom. The trial lasted for about one hour. In the end, the judge sentenced Hao to be imprisoned for three years. Currently, Hao is being detained in a jail in Zhengzhou city.
Shortly after Hao was illegally arrested, some officials from Yangcun Village in Nanle County illegally broke into his house and confiscated some produce, a water pump and other equipment.
3. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Residential Committee Official Zu Lijun Kidnaps Dafa Practitioners to the Brainwashing Center
On August 23, Zu Lijun went to the Jinzhou Welding Rod Factory to force Hua Yukui, a Dafa practitioner, to write a "guarantee letter" to give up Falun Gong. After Hua Yukui's stern refusal, Zu and a workshop head in the factory kidnapped Hua to a brainwashing center.
In the brainwashing center, Hua Yukui and another practitioner, Chen Kun, resisted the evil's persecution and brainwashing. The next day, two of them sent forth righteous thoughts and left the brainwashing center.
4. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Jinzhou City Forced Labor Camp Planning Violent Brainwashing Sessions for Dafa practitioners
The forced labor camp in Jinzhou City is planning to hold a violent brainwashing session for more than 20 determined Dafa practitioners being detained in the camp.

6. [Beijing] Government Agents and Collaborators Persecute Dafa Practitioners in a Brainwashing Center
In the beginning of this year, an illegal brainwashing center conducted violent brainwashing sessions for those Falun Gong practitioners who resumed their Falun Gong practice after giving it up earlier. Dr. Wang from the scientific research department of the Railway Bureau was forced to remain in the double-lotus position for an extended period of time: his legs were tied tightly with rope for more than 10 hours, during which he was untied for going to the restroom once. In addition, he received various threats. Collaborators [former Falun Gong practitioners who have turned against Dafa due to brainwashing and torture] such as Li Xuijun also participated in the persecution of practitioners in the brainwashing center.
7. [Hebei and Henan Province] An Unusual Spectacle Seen in the Sky
At around 8 PM on August 28, 2002, in the sky over the border of Hebei and Henan there suddenly appeared a silver-white ball. After appearance, this ball expanded gradually until it looked like it was about ten times the size of the sun. A child resting on the roof first discovered this unusual spectacle. Another 19-year-old man saw this as well. A female Dafa practitioner blurted out, "Falun," as she came out from the house and saw it in the sky. This scene lasted about 30 minutes and then gradually faded away. Many residents in Nanle County, Henan Province, and Wei and Daming counties, Hebei province, also witnessed this unusual spectacle. The witnesses went around and the talked about this unusual scene. For the past three years, there have been many unusual spectacles occurring in various regions of China. What do these peculiar celestial phenomena forecast? Everyone should think it through.
8. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning province] Dafa Practitioner Wu Yuan Kidnapped by Police
In mid-August 2002, while Dafa practitioner Wu Yuan was at home, he was kidnapped by police from the Public Security Department. He is currently being held at the detention center.

In September, counties in Yulin region, Guangxi Province were given an order to show slanderous videos to government employees, school teachers, and students. This video slandering Falun Dafa was produced by a studio in Beijing.
10. [Hailar City, Inner Mongolia] Father and Son Dafa Practitioners Illegally Detained
At around 6 AM on July 19, ten policemen illegally entered Dafa practitioner Yang Jitang's home. They seized Yang Jitang and his son Yang Bo, and took them to the brainwashing class in Gihailaer City. After 8 days and seeing that neither of them would give up their beliefs, they put them into the Guhailaer prison. This is the second time they have been subjected to brainwashing.
11. [Harbin, Heilongjiang Province] Dafa Practitioner Fu Quilan's Life Is in Danger
When Harbin Dafa practitioner Fu Quilan and her husband went to their son's house to take care of their grandchild, Fu was illegally seized and taken to the branch office of the Nangang Police Station. To protest the persecution, she has been on a hunger strike for 39 days. The detention caused severe tuberculosis to flare up and she was sent to the hospital for treatment. Since her family cannot afford to pay the huge medical expenses, her life is in danger. The vicious perpetrators still have her under surveillance 24 hours a day.
12. [Pei County, Jiangsu Province] Thirty Thousand Yuan to Detain Good People
The economy of Pei County in Jiangsu Province is poor. There are many hidden problems in the public security department. Since 1990, dozens of criminals have escaped--including murderers and robbers. Due to the lack of funding, the criminals are still at large. However, under the threat of Jiang's regime, the local public security bureau has spent a great deal of money to detain Falun Gong practitioners who practice "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" instead of putting their efforts into finding and arresting the real criminals.
In the early part of this year, three Falun Gong practitioners were forced to leave their homes because of the persecution. The police department was told that regardless of cost, it must capture more Falun Gong practitioners. Up to the beginning of August, they have already spent over 30,000 Yuan [Chinese currency, the monthly salary for an average Chinese urban worker is about 500 Yuan].
13. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Dafa Practitioner Jia Jinfeng Kidnapped by the Police
On September 2, 2002, while Dafa practitioner Jia Jinfeng was distributing truth-clarifying materials, the policeman who watched over the area kidnapped her. She was subsequently sent to a detention center.
14. [Wei County, Hebei Province] The Persecution of Dafa Practitioner Pang Yinjing
Pang Yinjing, male, 35, is from Yali Township in Wei County, Hebei Province.
- In January 2000, the superintendent of the Yali police station, Wang Fuzhong, together with three policemen illegally ransacked Pang Yinjing's house and detained him for six days. Pang Yinjing was fined 500 Yuan [Chinese currency, the monthly salary for an average Chinese urban worker is about 500 Yuan]. There were also six practitioners being illegally detained at the same time.
- On April 3, 2001 (lunar calendar), Wang Fuzhong, leading four policemen, forced his way into Pang Yinjing's house and took Pang and his wife to the police station. On the afternoon of the next day, Pang and his wife were sent to different detention centers. Pang was illegally detained for four months and his wife was held for over ten days. The vicious people collected a huge fine of ten thousand Yuan from Pang.
- At around 3 AM on June 21, 2002, Zhao Kia from the Political and Security Section of the Wei County Police Station and policemen from the Yali Police Station once again intruded into Pang Yinjing's house and seized him. He was locked up in the Wei County Detention Center for over two months. He demanded to be released unconditionally, but the police demanded a fine of 5000 Yuan. This practitioner has been extorted numerous times by the wicked officials, which has caused a severe strain on the practitioner's financial condition.
15. [Jiaozuo City, Henan Province] Dafa Practitioner Zhang Zhe Forced to Leave His Home
Nine officers from the Yixin Local Office and the Public Security Bureau intruded into Dafa practitioner Zhang Zhe's house and forced him to attend brainwashing classes. During the month he was in the brainwashing class, he firmly refused to cooperate with the perpetrators. He was illegally detained for thirteen days. After the police forced his family to sign a "letter of guarantee," he was released.
In mid-June of 2002, he had to abandon his home due to the persecution. There is no one at home to take care of his ailing 80-year-old mother and his small child.
16. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] A New Movement to Brainwash Dafa Practitioners
The second unit of the Jinzhou City Reform School is actually a concentration camp for brainwashing and persecuting Dafa practitioners. Recently the unit started a new wave of persecution. They started using a "rotation" strategy, in which a day is divided into 6 shifts, each class contains two people, and there is four hours of nonstop bombardment. They are forcing practitioners to sit on a hard bench wedged between two tables that is also blocked in front. They only let practitioners leave the bench after 24 hours. Their hope is to wear down the steadfast practitioners mentally and physically with their torture, so that they will submit to the brainwashing.
17. [Jianyuguan City, Gansu Province] Numerous Practitioners Detained In Brainwashing Centers
Jiayuguan city Commercial Bank Director Wang Long sent Dafa practitioners Jin Jianfu and Yang Wenying (female) to the "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] for brainwashing. Practitioners were illegally detained for two months and then dismissed from work. Another practitioner, Li Xue (female), was arrested while clarifying the truth. She was sent to the "610 Office" for brainwashing. It was reported that at least seven Dafa practitioners were illegally locked up in Jiayuguan City.
