[Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Dafa Practitioner Zhang Zhong in Critical Condition Due to Brutal Torture
On April 18, Dafa practitioner Mr. Zhang Zhong from Daqing City was arrested and detained at Daqing City's Detention Center. Zhang Zhong has been on a hunger strike for more than two months in protest. Because he refuses to cooperate with the evil, policemen tortured Zhang Zhong to the point where he is now unconscious and on the verge of death. He is dependent on intravenous drips to stay alive. Further details of his state of health are under investigation.

In April 2002, Mr. Qu Zhanguo, Deputy Director of the "110" Police Emergency Response Center in Dehui City, Jilin Province, was arrested for exposing the Jiang regime's crimes and speaking out for Falun Gong by telephone to his relatives.
[Beijing, China] Highly Educated, Determined Practitioners Sent to the Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp
Two practitioners, Mr. Sun Baoguo, a graduate student, and Mr. Wu Zhiping, a post-doctoral instructor at the Nuclear Radiation Research Institution, have suffered all kinds of brutal tortures in Taiyuan City's Xindian Forced Labor Camp of Shanxi Province, simply because they are determined to cultivate Dafa. In June 2001, officers in Taiyuan City's "610 Office" [An agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] put these two practitioners into the Xindian Forced Labor Camp for three years of forced labor. The two practitioners increased their determination to cultivate Dafa and the police could do nothing to change their minds. In late May of this year, police officers secretly took them to the Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp, and the practitioners' current whereabouts are still unclear.
The brutal torture meted out to highly educated practitioners at the hands of the Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp officials has been exposed many times before, such as the cases of Mr. Zhao Ming, a Chinese student studying in Ireland, and Mr. Lin Chengtao, an assistant research scientist at the Chinese Xiehe Medical School Basic Science Institution. We hope that fellow practitioners and people with a sense of justice all over the world will pay attention to this issue.

Recently, internal documents from the Heilongjiang Province Railroad Police System attest to concocted rumors that Falun Gong practitioners are planning to steal railroad tracks. On the heels of various false rumors being spread earlier this year, personnel from the Heilongjiang Province Railroad Police System made up yet another blatant lie. Their purpose is clearly to turn the public against Falun Gong to pave the way for further persecution.

On May 19, Liaoning Province Police Department officials secretly detained Dafa practitioner Mr. Liu Gang at Anshan City's No. 3 Detention Center. The details are under investigation.
On May 19, policemen from Dashiqiao City's Gangdu Police Precinct in Liaoning Province arrested Dafa practitioners Ms. Yang Ru and Ms. Yang Mei. One of Ms.Yang Ru's arms sustained a severe cut that required more than 20 stitches. She is now detained at Dashiqiao City's Detention Center. The details are under investigation.
The police from the Yingkou Forced Labor Camp are staking out certain locations in Dashiqiao City's South Building Economic Development District and in Gai County, and they are closely monitoring Dafa practitioners and their relatives. Officers in Yingkou City's "610 Office" have staked out certain areas in Anshan City to arrest practitioners.
[Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Mudanjiang City Teacher's College Suspends the Salaries of Employees Who Are Falun Gong Practitioners
Mr. Liu Zhiyuan and Ms. Jiang Chunmei from Mudanjiang City's Teacher's College in Heilongjiang Province have been denied their salaries for the last six months because they practice Falun Dafa.
[Bin County, Heilongjiang Province] Many Dafa Practitioners Arrested
On April 24, the Bin County Police Department mobilized many policemen to arrest local Dafa practitioners. Policemen concentrated their search on certain practitioners' homes. Whether policemen found Dafa materials or not, as long as practitioners said they were still practicing Falun Dafa, they would be forcibly taken away. More than 40 practitioners were arrested on that day. In the following week more than 20 practitioners illegally sent to a forced labor camp.
[Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Officials at Guangzhou City Law School Detain Innocent Dafa Practitioners
Officials at the brainwashing class located in the Guangzhou City's Law School have detained more than 20 Dafa practitioners, including Ms. Luo Muluan, wife of Mr. Zhang Mengye; Ms. Li Guo'e; Ms. Zou Danyu; Ms. Jiang Wenyi; Ms. Lin Juan; Mr. Lu Xianming; Ms. Gao Xiuzhen; and Mr. Yang Zijie. Ms. Ding Manju, one of the detainees, is over 70 years old, and several elderly women in the brainwashing class are over 60 years old. They remain steadfast in their cultivation of Dafa.
Officials in the brainwashing class are closely observing the practitioners who refuse to give in. Two staff members are assigned to monitor each practitioner. The practitioners are not allowed to leave the room or talk to others.
Li Xuezhen, the supervisor of the brainwashing class, was a former person of responsibility at Guangzhou City's Chatou Forced Labor Camp. She is known for deceit and trickery.
[Dehui City, Jilin Province] Arrest and Life-Threatening Situation of Dafa Practitioner Mr. Liu Hongfei
On May 24, 2002, Mr. Lin Hongfei was arrested at his parents' home. The police proceeded to ransack Mr. Lin's and his parents' homes. Lin was detained at Dehui City's Detention Center. After he went on a hunger strike without food or water for more than 20 days, he was sent to Jilin Province's Forced Labor Camp Hospital. His life is currently in dire peril.
[Jiutai City, Jilin Province] Arrest of Dafa Practitioner Ms. Han Xiaolian
Ms. Han Xiaolian, a Dafa practitioner from Yingcheng County, Jiutai City was forced to leave home because she insisted on practicing Falun Dafa. On the morning of May 21, 2002 two policemen arrested her while she was on her way to the market. Currently her 15-year-old son and 70-year-old father, who is partially paralyzed, are left behind at home without her care. Another previously happy home is being broken apart by the persecution.
[Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Officials from Mudanjiang Teacher's College Arrest Dafa Practitioners and Ransack Their Homes
Officials from Mudanjiang Teacher's College ransacked four Dafa practitioners' homes last month. Those Dafa practitioners who were found to have Falun Gong books or truth-clarifying materials were arrested and sent to a forced labor camp. These Dafa practitioners were Mr. Zhu Xiucheng, Ms. Wang Shue, Ms. Cheng Fei, Mr. Jin Youfeng and Mr. Wang Jiguo. Jin Youfeng was released, but the rest were sentenced to forced labor.
[Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Arrest of Dafa Practitioners Ms. Liu Xiangdang and Ms. Ren Shujie
Ms. Liu Xiangdang was released after holding a hunger strike, but around June 5 or 6, she was arrested again and sent to Shenyang City's Longshan Forced Labor Camp.
Ms. Ren Shujie was detained at Shenyang City's Longshan Forced Labor Camp for about one month. She went on a hunger strike in protest and was force-fed by guards, but she never wavered in her belief. She was tortured so badly that she had to be sent to Dabei Monitoring Hospital for emergency medical treatment.
[Laiwu City, Shandong Province] Three Dafa Practitioners Successfully Escape from the Xiaoyi Brainwashing Center
From May 24 to 25, three Dafa practitioners who were detained at Laiwu City's Xiaoyi Brainwashing Center successfully escaped with Teacher's help. The officials did not discover their escape until eight hours later.

When a bus entered Jinma Village, a famous tourist spot and source of pride for the locals, there were several slogans slandering Falun Gong written on the walls on both sides of the road. People in the bus were astounded. "Is there a political movement? " One said, "It seems that the 'Cultural Revolution' has reappeared." "Falun Gong is just a kind of Qigong. Is it necessary to outlaw and suppress it?" People began to discuss this. Such annoying political slogans scrawled all over the place at a highly regarded national scenic spot have upset and disgusted the local residents.
[Beijing] Beijing's Law Training Center Turned Into Brainwashing Center
- The former Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp in Beijing has been renamed to the "Law Training Center." It is a place used specifically to brutally brainwash Dafa practitioners. The most vicious among the persecutors here are Cai Yuqiang, Director Hu and Wang Lei.
- There are over 100 regular policemen and over 70 armed-policemen. Policemen ranked higher than squad leader can enter female Dafa practitioners' rooms at any time. They record Dafa practitioners' every move, including how many times they turned over while sleeping and how many times they used the toilet. Six to eight people would abuse and mistreat one practitioner with all kinds of excruciating tortures. One practitioner who was hit over the head 1,000 times ended up with visible deformities. In order to torture Dafa practitioners without being easily detected, the police even applied pressure at acupuncture points to cause internal injuries. Practitioners would feel extreme pain but the injury couldn't be seen from the outside. Some Dafa practitioners were tortured to the point of foaming at the mouth.

[Beijing] Nearly Fifty Dafa Practitioners Sent to Fengtai Forced Labor Camp
At present, there are nearly 50 determined Dafa practitioners being held at the Fengtai Detention Center by the No.7 Section of Beijing City's Police Department.
[Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Hewan Forced Labor Camp Detains and Subjects Many Practitioners to Brainwashing
The No.6 Women's Team in Wuhai City's Hewan Forced Labor Camp illegally detains Falun Gong practitioners. The number of practitioners being detained sometimes exceeds 400. As the number is so huge, they set up a No.8 Team. Each of the two teams has at least 200 practitioners.
Authorities in the forced labor camp are using all kinds of brutal and deceiving means to brainwash Dafa practitioners. Many practitioners who were deceived or gave in under pressure have come to their senses. The practitioners wrote letters to the police officers in a dignified manner, telling them that they are doing the worst thing in the world. Practitioners are asking them to be responsible to both themselves and others. Up until now, however, the police officers are still continuing in their evil ways.

[Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] List of Perpetrators
Bao Hongbin, chief of the Political & Security Section in Taiyuan City's Wanbolin Police Precinct, is the leader of the persecution in the city. He once won a "Second-Level Prize" from the National Police Ministry for his efforts in persecuting Dafa practitioners.
A policeman from Taiyuan City's Qianfeng Police Precinct brutally beat up Dafa practitioner Liang Zhonghua. Even other police officers were shocked by his cruelty. On June 1, Liang was arrested and sentenced to forced labor camp for clarifying the truth.

[Guangzhou City and Beijing] Former Practitioners Commit Crimes Against Dafa
Li Binghui, male, works at Guangzhou City's Yuanyang Company. Ever since he turned against Dafa and was released from the Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp, he has actively participated as an accomplice to the persecution. In exchange for payments of 50 Yuan [500 Yuan is average monthly income in urban areas of China] per day, he betrays his conscience and harasses Dafa practitioners everywhere. Sui Xiao, female, is trying to sway Dafa practitioners everywhere after turning against Dafa at the Chatou Forced Labor Camp. Her targets include her niece Xie Yan, a steadfast Dafa practitioner who is now detained at the Chatou Forced Labor Camp. Sui tried all kinds of means to shake Xie Yan's righteous faith in Dafa, but it was all in vain. In addition, Sui Xiao goes to many brainwashing classes to act as an accomplice. Sui was largely responsible for the arrest of a practitioner couple named Mr. Zhang Mengye and Ms. Luo Muluan by "610 Office" personnel. Cai Ai (female), Shen Ling (female), Xu Laili (female) and Wang Zhongcheng (male) have all given in to the evil and have committed numerous crimes.
Zhang Yuxiang, female, from Fangyuanli, Chaoyang District, became an agent for the "610 Office" and tortured Dafa practitioners in brainwashing classes. Zhang has betrayed many Dafa practitioners, and she is still carrying out crimes against Dafa.
