Practitioners in San Francisco Call for an End to the Brutal Persecution of Falun Gong (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On Saturday, July 20, 2002, which marks the 3^rd anniversary of the Jiang Zemin regime's persecution of Falun Dafa, practitioners in San Francisco area held a series of activities including group practice, a walk to clarify the truth, sending forth righteous thoughts as a group and a press conference to call on governments and kind-hearted people over the world to work together to end Jiang's regime's brutal persecution on Falun Gong practitioners.

Practicing the exercises and sending righteous thoughts

Early in the morning, practitioners held group exercises in three locations: San Francisco City Hall, Golden Gate Park, and Washington Square. The serene and peaceful group exercise spectacle attracted much attention from numerous tourists and passersby. As soon as they got off their coaches, groups of tourists from all over the world came over to view the truth-clarifying posters, take Dafa materials, take pictures or to have a chat with us.

When they learned that July 20 marked the 3^rd anniversary of the Jiang regime's ruthless persecution of Falun Dafa, they expressed their astonishment toward the brutal persecution. Some senior people took additional materials for their friends and relatives.

After practicing the exercises, practitioners separated into a few groups to distribute Dafa truth-clarifying materials along city streets. We then went to the Chinese Consulate and the "Garden Corner" Park in San Francisco Chinatown to send forth righteous thoughts as a group.

A veteran practitioner in his 70s, handed out truth-clarifying materials in the "Garden Corner" for a few hours. He said, "As overseas practitioners, we should do our best to clarify the truth and let the whole world know that Falun Dafa is good. This way we can help to reduce the pressure endured by the practitioners in China. After practicing Falun Gong, I become very healthy and don't feel tired at all."

During the day's activities, practitioners maintained peaceful minds to hand out materials, to clarify the truth and to send forth righteous thoughts. We deeply felt the sacred responsibility of "Spreading the Fa's principles throughout the secular world" bestowed upon us as well as the compassion of saving sentient beings.
