1. [Northern China] Seventy Percent of a Village in Northern China Practices Falun Gong
In a village in northern China, 70% of the villagers are cultivating Falun Dafa. Practitioners rectify the Fa in the village with signs that say "Falun Dafa Is Good."

On the June 1 International Children's Day, kids touring a park in Hebei Province received, as a surprise, a small package wrapped in red. Inside each gift pack are cultivation stories of children who practice Falun Gong and leaflets with information about Falun Gong related to children. These small gift packs carry the immeasurable benevolent compassion Falun Dafa practitioners hold toward children.
3. [Hebei Province] Practitioners Hold a Fa Conference in Hebei Province
At the end of May, Falun Dafa practitioners in an area in Hebei Province held a Fa Conference exchanging cultivation experiences. The conference was held in a mood both solemn and celebrative.
Practitioners exchanged experiences of clarifying the truth and sending forth righteous thoughts. They also discussed what a Falun Dafa practitioner is during the Fa-rectification period, and the relationship between themselves and the old forces. They have decided to celebrate Falun Dafa Day on June 21 in their area. During the meeting, practitioners collectively sent forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil three times. They are getting even more mature in facing the persecution, and are as determined as ever.
4. [St. Petersburg, Russia] Head of the Evil Persecution Arrives at St. Petersburg, Russia
The head of the evil persecution left Alma-ata, the capital of Kazakhstan, on June 5 and arrived at St. Petersburg in Russia. Practitioners in China and overseas will continue to concentrate on sending righteous thoughts to eliminating the evil that causes this persecution.
5. [Henan Province] Cruel Torture in Shibalihe Female Forced Labor Camp Cannot Sway the Righteous Thoughts of Falun Dafa Practitioners
After deploying cruel torture devices against Falun Dafa practitioners at the end of 2001, guards at the Shibalihe Female Forced Labor Camp in Henan Province continued to brutally beat Falun Dafa practitioner Han Fulan. They tied Han up with ropes and, as a result, Han could not move around for many days. Scars left by the ropes are still visible near her collarbone. Her body is covered with injuries. A Falun Dafa practitioner in the No.4 Large Team was taken to the local police station when her term was up. The police asked her whether Falun Gong is good or bad. Zhou replied firmly: "Falun Gong is good!" She was sent back to the labor camp for three more years of forced labor.
What the evil forces are afraid of the most is practitioners' righteous thoughts. Both early in the morning and late in the evening the authorities turn up loudspeakers in an attempt to interfere with practitioners from sending righteous thoughts. Whenever they see practitioners sending forth righteous thoughts in groups, they will immediately intervene to break up the groups. Even so, they are unable to prevent practitioners from sending righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil behind this persecution.
Policewoman Wang Yulin, the team leader in charge of the No.3 Large Team, also known as the "large white demon," and policewomen Cui Ying and Wen Yumei all participate in the inhumane torture of Falun Dafa practitioners.
6. [Jiutai County, Jilin Province] Police Officers at Yinmahe Forced Labor Camp Continue to Commit Crimes
Falun Dafa practitioner Wang Tongchun from Fuyu County went through brutal torture for persevering in practicing Falun Dafa. In critical condition, he was sent to the emergency room in a local hospital. He remained in the hospital for almost a month, and was transferred to Yinmahe Forced Labor Camp in Jiutai County. When his family members met him, his face was still black as the result of the beating he had received a month ago. Afterwards, his family members were prevented from meeting Wang when they returned several times to visit. They were not even allowed to send him clothes. The police said Wang Tongchun "simply refused to write statements [guaranteeing not to practice Falun Gong]."
7. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Driven by Monetary Rewards, Police in Dalian City Abduct a Large Number of Falun Dafa Practitioners
Between April and May, the police in Dalian City have launched several campaigns, secretly arresting a large number of Falun Gong practitioners. (The exact number is under investigation.) So far several hundred Falun Dafa practitioners have been transferred from Yaojia Detention Center in Dalian City to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Liaoning Province. In order to avoid public attention, the police secretly transported practitioners in old canvass-top trucks in the early morning hours. Each truck was overloaded with close to a hundred practitioners who were all shackled. The distance from Dalian City to Masanjia is about 400 kilometers. It is clear that the police treat practitioners very inhumanely.
The majority of these practitioners have been arrested by local police
stations based on quotas sent down from higher authorities. If a police station
arrests practitioners exceeding the given quota, each extra arrest results in a
bonus award. Under the instigation of such vicious orders encouraging local
police to commit crimes, to place Falun Dafa practitioners under arrest
illegally has become a get-rich-quick scheme for the local police forces.

Liu Jingping: Sometime before October 1, 2001, Liu Jingping was sent to the Changchun Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp. The guards tied her to an iron bed for as long as two months because she didn't cooperate with the evil and still persisted in practicing the exercises. After that, during the daytime the guards watched over her in the workroom, with both her hands tied with a leather belt. At night, they tied her on an iron bed. Around January 1, 2002, Liu Jingping went on a hunger strike to protest. Although the guards tried to force steamed buns into her mouth, they were unable to make her to swallow it. In mid-January, she completely refused to have anything forced into her mouth. Several days later, she was sent to the hospital for a physical examination. A doctor said that her blood had turned black. She was then released and sent back home.
Zhou Liping: Before the Spring Festival of 2000, Zhou Liping was detained in the Changchun Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp, where she was persecuted for an extended period because of her unshakable belief in Dafa. The guards shocked her with electric batons, put her into solitary confinement, and tied her on a bed for a long time with her arms and legs handcuffed to the four corners of the bed. She was forced to stand still until midnight, and was not allowed to sleep. They tried to force her to write the so-called "thought reports" [slandering Falun Dafa]. After a long period of time she still remained unyielding. Her right hand was disabled, but the guards still forced her to bundle up bean vines. The guards always forced her to carry a large amount of bundled bean vines, an amount normally carried by two people. They also forced her to carry a bag of beans on her shoulders, weighing over 100 pounds, all the way from the first floor to the fifth floor. No matter how they tortured her, they still could not cause her to falter in her firm faith in Dafa.
Zhang Chunjie: Zhang Chunjie is from Dehui County. Many vicious people bombarded her [with persecution and attempts at brainwashing] many times, but her heart has never been affected. The guards forced her to run around the room carrying a 100-pound bag of beans on her shoulders. She lost consciousness after running around the room several times.
Song X: Song is 22 years old. In December 2001, she was abducted and sent to Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp. Many people took turns to bombard and brainwash her, but they could not achieve the goal [of forcing her to renounce Falun Dafa]. The guards then started to punish her physically. First, they forced her to run around the room holding a big bundle of bean vines. She was so tired that she fell on the ground, but was still made to stand up and continue to run. She remained unyielding to their demands even though she fell down many times. Then the vicious police again forced her to run around the room carrying a heavy bag of beans, but she still did not give in.
9. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Criminal Activities of the Lawless Police in Team 6 of Changchun Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp
Members of Team 6 of Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp, including the team leaders Liu Hu and Zhu Dan, and the guard Zhao Xiaohui, have committed grave crimes against Dafa.
Before practicing Falun Gong, Dafa practitioner Long Liyun suffered from heart disease. Through practicing the exercises, her heart disease disappeared. After she was abducted and was sent to the forced labor camp, the guards didn't allow her to study the Fa or practice the exercises. In addition, they tried to force her to write the so-called "statement of separation" (renouncing Falun Gong). Long Liyun firmly refused to write it. A guard in Team 6, Zhao Xiaohui, took her to the guards' office and again tried to force her to write the "statement of separation," but she still refused. Zhang Xiaohui, Zhu Dan, Liu Hu and other riot guards rushed up to punch and kick her. They shocked Long Liyun with high-voltage electric batons. As a result, Long Liyun suffered from a recurrence of heart disease.
These guards also brutally beat, kicked and shocked other Dafa practitioners
with high-voltage electric batons, causing their necks to be burned. The riot
guards pulled the hair of Dafa practitioners and beat them. One Dafa
practitioner went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution in the labor
camp. The guards tied her on a "dead person's bed" [the four limbs
of the practitioner are stretched out and tied to the four corners of an
icy-cold metal bed. The practitioner cannot move at all. Neither is he/she
allowed to get up to eat, drink, or go to the bathroom. This treatment would
last from several hours up to more than a dozen days. This type of cruel torture
causes severe damage to the practitioner both mentally and physically] and
stripped her naked, without giving her a blanket to cover the bed or her body,
so she had to lie on the ice-cold iron bed. The guards didn't allow her to use
the toilet, but inserted catheters into her body instead. They also inserted
tubes into her stomach for force-feeding. One practitioner was tied on the
"dead person's bed", and was tortured to the point of suffering a
mental breakdown. The head of the labor camp and the leader of Team 5 Li
brutally beat a 50-year-old Dafa practitioner because she refused to write the
so-called "statement of separation."

The Shenyang City's Police Department held a secret conference recently. Beginning June 5 or 6, they are going to mount a big search for half a month, targeting all the practitioners whose names are on record. Whenever they arrest a practitioner, they will use every possible means to force that practitioner to give the names of other practitioners. We hope that fellow practitioners will not be affected by the evil.
We have also learned that fourteen Dafa practitioners, including Xiao Fu and Yin Liping, are missing in Beijing. Please pay attention to this matter and offer your help.
11. [Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province] The Lixin Police Station Abducts Dafa Practitioner Hao Guirong and Robs Her of Money and Property
At about 4 a.m. on May 2, over ten people led by policeman Liu Mian from the Lixin Police Station in Shuangyashan City of Heilongjiang Province, came to Dafa practitioner Hao Guirong's home and knocked at the door. At that time, Hao Guirong was sleeping. After entering the room, the police said they would search her home, and then tried to force her to go to the police station under the pretext of wanting to ask her something. Hao Guirong refused to cooperate with them. Then policeman Li Sen from the Security Team of the City's Police Department ordered ten police officers to abduct her. They carried her out of her home, while Hao Guirong was wearing only underwear. Her family members could not endure the unlawful behavior of the police, and said to them, "You don't have search and detention warrants. How can you arrest her? Has she done something wrong?" Li Sen said, "If you try to stop us, I will charge you in the name of 'causing obstruction to public affairs.'" Hao Guirong was sent to the city's detention center. Making matters even worse, the greedy police ransacked Hao Guirong's home and confiscated the family's hard-earned 3,500 Yuan [500 Yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China].
12. [Tainjin City] Over Ten Falun Dafa Disciples Abducted by Lutai Town Police Substation in Ninghai County
At around 7:00 p.m. on May 13, "World Falun Dafa Day", police from Lutai Town Police Substation in Ninghai County of Tianjin City conducted an illegal search of local Falun Dafa practitioners' homes. They captured over ten Falun Dafa disciples, while two disciples were forced to leave their home, becoming homeless in order not to be captured. The police illegally confiscated a computer, over 2,600 Falun Dafa CDs, and some Falun Dafa books and tapes. The captured disciples currently remain in detention.

The lawless officers in Changchun City plan to hold a brainwashing session on June 3, 2002. Every government department must meet quotas set in the plan. It is said that the educational department's target is to send 20 Falun Dafa practitioners to the brainwashing session. Doing this while the head of the evil persecution is on his trip to Europe, the Jilin authorities aim to prevent Falun Dafa disciples from sending righteous thoughts to eradicate the evil.
14. [China] A Suggestion for Fellow Practitioners Outside China: Play Truth Video Programs to Tourists From China
There are many tourists from China visiting Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. It is a good chance for fellow practitioners outside of China to clarify the truth of Falun Dafa to them. Many tourists are told not to accept flyers from Falun Gong practitioners before they go abroad, or they will be penalized. That's why many people from China are afraid to accept flyers from Falun Dafa practitioners. We suggest that Falun Dafa disciples outside of China take full advantage of televisions or even better, projectors to broadcast truth clarification video programs such as "the Truth of Self-Immolation", "the Truth of Killing in Beijing", " the Peaceful Appeal of Western Disciples at Tiananmen Square", "the Trial of History" etc. In addition, picture displays such as pictures of the magnificent promotion of Falun Dafa all over the world and big pictures of parades make a deep impression on Chinese tourists. They keep the truth of Falun Dafa in their minds and bring it back to China.

The Marvelous Scene Occurs Again in the Sky Over Guiyang City
On May 15th and 16th, a marvelous solar halo spectacle occurred in the sky over Guiyang City. It is said that the solar halo spectacle occurred initially at noon of May 15th and again at 10:00 a.m. on May 16th. According to an eyewitness, the solar halo was over ten times the size of the Sun, with a yellow circular halo and light purple halo. It lasted more than two hours before it gradually disappeared at 1:00 p.m.
