In the beginning of May, the Lanzhou police bureau ordered the "violence prevention" police to search and arrest Dafa practitioners. As a result, Cong Qiuzi and her husband, Professor Yu, as well as dozens of other practitioners were arrested. A material-producing site was damaged. The loss amounts to over one hundred thousand Yuan.
2. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] A Practitioner Who Is A Policeman Goes to Tiananmen to Validate Dafa Wearing His Police Uniform
Dafa practitioner Yang Zhigang is a police officer at Yizhong Jail, Mancheng County, Baoding City. On May 7, 2002 he went to Tiananmen Square to clarify the truth of Falun Dafa in his police uniform. He was brutally beaten by police on Tiananmen Square. According to sources from Yizhong Jail, Yang's head was cut and swollen. His cheeks were bloodied and deformed by the beating. Beijing police refused to let Yang's colleagues take him back. Instead, they sent Yang to a labor camp or a brainwashing class in Tunzhou. Another inspector from Yizhong Jail, Zhang Zhanying, also a Dafa practitioner, was also sent to Tunzhou for persecution. At the same time, Yizhong Jail forced every policeman who has ever practiced Falun Gong to write a Guarantee Letter under threat of being sent to a forced labor camp. Since May 10, two policemen have been forced to leave home.

On April 23 2002, Sun Zhaohua, the deputy secretary of Jianling Village, Yuhua District, Shijiazhuang City, led the militia and the secretary of the Legal and Political Committee of Huaidi Township into the home of two practitioners, Du and Meng. They abducted the couple and sent them to a brainwashing class. Their daughter was home sick at the time. They did not care about her and took her parents away.

6. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Crowds Are Shocked to See Police Officers Acting Like Hoodlums
It was past 8:00 p.m. one night in early April 2002 when police officers arrived in two vehicles to surround a Falun Dafa practitioner's home. With only the practitioner's daughter and 70-year-old mother at home, the police broke in and ransacked the house. Their actions left the elderly woman quivering in fear. In the end, the police took away the practitioner's daughter as well as many valuables from the home. The elderly mother was left behind to clean up the mess.
The practitioner's home was in a densely populated section of the street. Many passersby were shocked by the incident. When those in the crowd became aware that this family practiced Falun Gong, they commented, "How could you treat people like this, simply because they practice Falun Gong? Hasn't the government claimed on TV how much they care about Falun Gong practitioners? We have never seen incidents like this on TV. We have never seen anyone so vicious even when dealing with murderers and arsonists. The country is completely ruined."
7. [China] Falun Dafa Practitioner Fu Dongguang Suffers from Torture and Persecution
Fu Dongguang, a 33-year-old tobacco company accountant, went to the State Appeals Office to present the facts about Falun Gong. He was subsequently detained for ten days on administrative charges that later developed into a detention of thirty days on criminal charges. Finally, Fu was released on bail after depositing 3,000 yuan RMB as well as transportation expenses of 600 yuan. [The average monthly salary of an urban worker is about 500 yuan.]
On January 21, 2001, just before the Chinese (lunar calendar) New Year's Day, Fu was forcibly abducted and sent to a detention center for eight days by the Jianshe Street Police Department without cause. There were close to thirty people detained at the police station that night.
On June 17, 2001, about ten people from the "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] forcibly conducted an illegal search of Fu Dongguang's parents' home. Jia Lichao then confiscated the house keys and led others on a search of Fu's home. Fu's father argued with them, so they handcuffed his hands behind him. Fu Dongguang was taken to Shangyecheng Police Station. Yang Yihe, Zhan Chao and Sun Zhanzhou interrogated him all night long, beating him with electric batons and rubber clubs. They also tortured Fu with the "tiger bench," Fu was not allowed to rest or sleep until noon the next day. Five days later, Fu was sent to a detention center.
On July 5, Fu was called out of the detention center by police officers from the 610 Office and taken to the residence of Falun Dafa practitioner Chen Xibu, in Kangtai Residential Compound. (Chen Xibu and his wife were arrested on June 30, 2001 and are currently being illegally held in the detention center.) Jia Lichao beat Fu with wooden clubs and threatened to use an electric baton on him, bragging that the wooden clubs had already been stained with blood from several other people.
Fu Dongguang is currently still being held illegally. The 610 Office also beat Chen Xibu, Geng Shunfu and their wives, Zhang Zhe and Wang Mei. All of them are from the same city as Fu Dongguang. Fu Dongguang's father, Zhang Mei, Wang Genhuai and his wife, Song Lanzhen, Li Zhiyong and his wife have also been viciously beaten by the "610 Office." Zhang Li, the wife of Xu Liang, had been arrested with Yin Yuhui. Zhang Li was beaten for over 24 hours and could not walk normally afterwards. Her hands were swollen and misshapen as a result of being restrained with iron clamps. Pus was mixed with blood in the wounds on her hands. Other details regarding the "610 Office's" brutality are not yet available.
