(Clearwisdom.net) In order to preserve his personal interests, Jiang Zemin began a brutal persecution of Falun Gong on July 20, 1999 using the resources and manpower of the Chinese government. From then on a blanket of terrorism spread by Jiang covered the Chinese nation and as a result the weather in the whole country has changed drastically. In the days immediately following July 20, 1999, the temperature in Beijing rose rapidly from 30 0C [about 86 0F] on July 20 to 38 0C on July 23, then to over 42 0C [about 108 0F] on July 24. It was the highest temperature that had been recorded in decades.
Teacher said, "When people do not have virtue, natural calamities and man-made disasters will abound." ("When the Fa is Right" Essentials for Further Advancement) Jiang's persecution of Falun Gong angered heaven and earth alike. Ever since late 1999, the number of natural disasters and accidents in China has increased drastically. Droughts that haven't happened in decades, floods, high temperatures, locust plagues and sandstorms have not let up year after year. On the contrary, every year the disasters become more severe. Major fire accidents, explosions, car accidents, explosions in mines and other large-scale terrible accidents often occur. At the same time as "Truth, Compassion and Tolerance" suffers relentless persecution, people's morality has declined dramatically. Without the restraint of morality, society will become a mess and unredeemable. Therefore, corrupt government officials are prevalent all over the country. Lies, violence and evil fill all of China. Drugs, drug addicts, and various STDs are becoming rampant in China.
From recent statistics published by the Chinese government we can clearly see that the year 1999 had been a turning point. This is not a coincidence at all. Let us list several groups of representative numbers. From these numbers we can see that Jiang's persecution of Falun Gong has brought tremendous disasters upon the country and everyone has become a victim of this political persecution.

Retribution for Persecution of Falun Dafa
Within several days, from March 18 to 21, 2002, a sandstorm of the largest proportions attacked eighteen provinces, autonomous districts and municipalities [over a half of the regions of China]. To a different extent, almost all areas to the north of Yongzi River suffered weather changes resulting from the sandstorm. More than 100 million people in the country were affected. Related scientific research shows that for the past fifty years, because of changes in atmospheric and weather conditions the frequency of sandstorms in China has declined overall. They increased a little during the 60's and 70's. They declined noticeably during the 80's up until the mid 90's. After the Fall of 1999, this trend suddenly reversed direction, followed by drastic increases in sandstorms. According to reports and statistics there were five sandstorms in the 50's, eight in the 60's, thirteen in the 70's, fourteen in the 80's, twenty-three in the 90's, including 1999 and twelve storms in 2000 alone. In the year 2001, thirty-two sandstorms occurred.
The sandstorms have quickly changed large areas of soil into desert and
severely affected people's living environments, and caused great economic
losses to the nation.
From 1978, China's total food production increased almost year by year and it reached a peak in 1998. This trend changed in 1999, when the amount of food production began to decline. Jiang's persecution of "Truth, Compassion and Tolerance" brought large scale drought, high temperatures and floods and locust plagues, which caused the total food production and unit area production to decline drastically and return to pre-1992 levels. The following table lists the total food production in China from 1991 to 2001. Among these statistics, the unit production for 2000 and 2001 was calculated according to the data provided by the government.

2001 45262.0 4270
The following table lists the fires that took place throughout China from 1997 to 2001. The situation was relatively stable in 1997 and 1998, but from 1999 on, the number of fires increased rapidly.

The situation of traffic accidents in China
The following table shows the statistics of traffic accidents from 1995 to 2001. From the table we can see that from 1999 on traffic accidents greatly increased which caused a large increase in death and injuries and great economic loss.
Year Number of Accidents # of Death # of Injuries
1995 271843 71494 159308
1996 287685 73655 174447
1997 304217 73861 190128
1998 346129 78067 222721
1999 412860 83529 286080
2000 616971 93853 418271
2001 755000 106000 552000
The number of injuries for the year 2001 includes the first 11 months only. In 2001, the deaths caused by traffic accidents are double the number in the U.S and nine times more than that of Japan. China has become the country with the most serious traffic accident problems in the world.
Injuries and Deaths in Mine Disasters
Mine safety declines day by day in China. The injuries and death numbers in
mine accidents have always been high. Every year, 10,000 people died from mine
accidents. From January to November 2001, various mining companies recorded
9,650 accidents, resulting in 11,047 deaths. Furthermore, serious accidents
that result in more than 30 deaths at one time took place frequently.
In recent years, the number of drug dealers and drug addicts increased drastically throughout the nation. "Ice," "ecstasy" and other stimulants emerged from obscurity to great numbers from the mid 90's, and they spread rampantly. Especially in recent years, these kinds of criminal activities have greatly increased. From 1991 to 1998, the government solved 170 "Ice" drug crimes and confiscated 7.3 tons of "Ice." [Note: "Ice" is commonly called heroine/cocaine, depending on the potency] In 1999 alone, 190 "Ice"-making and dealing crimes were solved and more than 16 tons of "Ice" were confiscated, which was more than the sum of the total "Ice" confiscated in all eight previous years. In 2000, 20.9 tons of this drug was confiscated. The following table lists the statistical data:
Year # of Drug Crimes Registered Drug Addicts Heroin Confiscated Ecstasy Con.
(10,000's) (10,000 people) (tons) (10,000 pills)
1999 5.96 68 5.3
2000 9.62 86 6.3 24
2001 11 90.1(first 10 months) 13.2 207
The actual number of drug-related crimes and drug
addicts is far larger than the data published by the government. To make
matters worse, adolescents make up a great part of the drug addicts and the
number of female drug addicts increased drastically.
In these times where "Truth, Compassion and Tolerance" is suppressed and good people suffer terrible persecution, people don't have faith anymore and their morality becomes a vacuum. People are no longer disciplining themselves with traditional moral values and the level of morality has declined drastically. People commit crimes without any scruples. Many people have lost hope and faith in life. In China, an average of 250,000 people die from suicide every year and more than two million people attempt suicide, but fail.
Various STDs (Sexually Transmitted Diseases) are spreading rapidly. In late 2000, more than 600,000 people have been found to carry the HIV virus and the numbers of Aids patients increased exponentially. Experts estimate that in 2001 alone, more than ten million people had STD symptoms.
Aside from this rampant drug abuse mentioned above, many people commit all
kinds of crimes for money. They make and sell various spurious products.
Adding to this and making it even worse, much poisoned food was discovered in
the markets of a dozen provinces and municipalities. This included poisoned
tea, poisoned melon seeds, poisoned candy, poisoned crackers, poisoned pork,
poisoned rice, poisoned oil, poisoned rice noodles, poisoned soybean drink,
poisoned flour, poisoned milk powder, poisoned salt, poisoned honey, poisoned
wine, poisoned dog meat, poisoned salted fish, poisoned duck, poisoned pepper,
poisoned cake, poisoned tofu skin, poisoned dried bean curd and more. Cases of
mildewed food and food that fails to conform to sanitary standards are even
more numerous. Experts point out that right now, every year in our nation,
200,000 - 400,000 people get food poisoning, and some of them die from severe
food poisoning.
Jiang and Luo force the Chinese government, especially the judicial and police system, to use rare and brutal tortures in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. They have committed boundless crimes that are too numerous to recount. Many ignorant police and security officers brutally beat practitioners out of pursuit for their personal interests and have created immeasurable karma. "Goodness will be rewarded and evil doing will be punished".
Right now, vicious people who persecute Falun Gong are receiving retribution every day. Jiang and Luo don't dare to publish the true facts of the evil retribution in an attempt to delude the police to continue to work for them and go to the grave with them. We can see this situation occurring from sporadic reports we receive.
As it becomes obvious from preliminary statistics, within less than a year, from May 1, 2001 to March 7, 2002, Clearwisdom Net reported 850 stories of retribution, listing names, addresses and work units. Among them, the three northeast provinces (Liaoning, Heilongjiang and Jilin), Hebei Province and Shandong Province, and also other provinces, which perpetrated the most severe persecution of Falun Gong have received the greatest number of retributions.
