Washington, D.C. -- The law firm of Martin F. McMahon & Associates will announce at a press conference on April 3, 2002, the filing of a major, first-of-its-kind civil lawsuit against two government ministries of the People's Republic of China, alleging a systematic--and often violent--campaign of criminal activities in the U.S. designed to deprive American citizens and residents who practice Falun Gong of their constitutional rights and privileges.

The plaintiffs, numbering nearly 50, have suffered physical assault, intimidation, harassment, death threats, vandalism and other violations on U.S. soil in numerous cities across the country over the past 32 months. The lawsuit paints a shocking, disturbing picture of illegal conduct orchestrated by the two P.R.C. ministries and various personnel in their Washington-based Embassy and affiliated U.S. Consulates.

The press conference will include remarks from the legal counsel, along with brief statements from plaintiffs. Interviews will be available.
