Delusion and Breaking Through the Delusion
The following is the behavior of a person who has been deluded: when everything goes his way, he thinks that it is the way that it is supposed to be and cannot see anything wrong with himself; when things go badly for him, he feels that nothing is right. More and more of the various attachments, sentimentality, and thought karma surface and cannot be suppressed. When this happens, one must cultivate his inner self, examine his own xinxing for causes and break through them. The only way to break through the delusion is by studying the Fa. If one wants to always stay out of delusion, he must study the Fa in a steadfast manner, take the Fa as the teacher, and truly ensure that the Fa stays in his heart.
Sentimentality and Benevolence
If one feels lost in the face of sentimentality, he is the same as an everyday person and will experience all kinds of conflicts that an everyday person encounters. The way to resolve the situation is to let go of the sentimentality of everyday people, look at things with benevolence and look at things from the point of view of the Fa.
Pursuit and Without Pursuit
Attain naturally without pursuit. If something is supposed to be yours, you will obtain it. If it is not, you won't. As a matter of fact, the things that you have gained through pursuit are not necessarily better than those that you gain naturally through waiting. That is because when people are pursuing things, they cannot see the existence of things that are better than what they are pursuing. In reality, when we think things over with a calm mind, we will realize that only the Fa is the most precious.
Forbearance and the Breadth of Mind of a Cultivator
In "What is Forbearance," Teacher said, "To endure completely without anger or grievance is the forbearance of a cultivator." In "Sage," Teacher said, "He has bountiful virtue and also maintains a benevolent heart; he is full of great aspirations while minding minor details. With broad knowledge of the laws and principles, he is able to unravel uncertainties. Offering salvation to the world and its people, he builds up his merit naturally."
