Executions by shooting ordered for all Dafa Flyer distributors

Planned Execution Quota for each Province in China

Changchun, China/Frankfurt, Germany -- March 7, 2002

The Internationale Gesellschaft fuer Menschenrechte (IGFM), International Association for Human Rights, alerts the world community to an escalation of persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in the People's Republic of China.

During the opening of this year's Party People's Congress in Beijing on March 5th, 2002, a cable television station in Changchun/Jilin Province/Manchuria aired a program that evening, detailing the persecution of the Buddhist-oriented meditation system Falun Gong. Changchun in Northeast China is home to Mr. Li Hongzhi, the founder of this movement. The broadcast lasted approximately 40 minutes and was viewed by almost one million viewers.

Following this TV program, personnel from the "610 Office" in Changchun arrested three Falun Gong practitioners. The "610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems. According to Minghui.Net, the Chinese ruling dictator personally gave the order to "Give the death Sentence -- No stay of execution!" Additionally, people from this "610 Office" had assembled a list of those Falun Gong followers in the city of Changchun and in Jilin Province in general who are targeted for execution or for lengthy terms of incarceration. Authorities in other provinces are assembling similar lists.

Northeast China is considered one of the bulwarks of Falun Gong. Prior to the Chinese Spring Festival, February 12th, police forces in this Northeast Chinese metropolis of Changchun had been given orders to "shoot to kill" anyone who is caught red-handed either distributing Falun Gong flyers or materials or putting up Falun Dafa banners. Shortly thereafter, around February 16th, a Falun Gong practitioner was hit in his leg by four shots, wounding him as he pasted up placards, so reports the Falun Gong-affiliated information service Minghui.Net.
