[Beijing] Please Save the Hunger-Striking Practitioners in Xuanwu District Detention Center
On February 4th, a female practitioner and I went to the Tiananmen Square to validate Falun Dafa. We were immediately arrested and taken to Tiananmen Police Substation. Later we were transferred to Xuanwu district Detention Center. We began a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention. On February 17, I was released unconditionally, but the female practitioner arrested at the same time is still on hunger strike and is now in critical condition.
There may be more practitioners detained in Xuanwu Detention Center for going to Tiananmen Square to validate Falun Dafa. Unwilling to cooperate, they refused to give their addresses and names. The Xuanwu district police department force-fed those practitioners participating in a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention and persecution.

[Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province] Hegang City No. 2 Detention Center Force-Feeds Practitioners with Concentrated Saline Solution
In Hegang City No. 2 Detention Center, the detained Falun Dafa practitioners are under 24-hour surveillance to prevent them doing the exercises. During the day, practitioners are forced to sit with legs stretched out. Those who do the exercises suffer a minimum punishment of being beaten by criminals and reported to the guards. The more severe punishment is to be shackled and handcuffed to iron bars like those felony criminals. Those who are shackled in this manner can do nothing but sit on the ground with legs stretched and need the help of others to eat and to relieve themselves.
Other practitioners began a hunger strike to protest this inhuman treatment. The police treated them even worse. They were force-fed twice a day from the very first day with a concentrated salt solution, causing them extreme thirst. Some were force-fed many times, causing vomiting of blood and infections of the trachea and esophagus.

On Lunar New Year's Eve, practitioners of a city in north China wanted to bring the goodness of Falun Dafa to the public. From 5PM till 4AM next morning they put up many banners and distributed truth-clarifying flyers. They posted flyers stating, "Falun Dafa is good!" and "The Buddha-light illuminates everywhere" on the gates of residential buildings. Some people saw the flyer and said, "The Buddha-light illuminates everywhere. Buddha comes to my house. No one shall tear away this flyer. It shall be here for at lease one year."
[Yunfu City, Guangdong Province] Police Detained Two Practitioners, Lin Jinghong and Xu Xinming, on Lunar January 5th
Just after the Chinese New Year, on lunar January 5th, the County and District Police Department of Yunfu City detained Lin Jinghong and Xu Xinming, both Falun Dafa practitioners.
In the hopes of destroying Falun Dafa, police of Yunfu City offered bonuses last year to people who agreed to collect information and conduct other furtive activities against practitioners. This method has failed.
[Shuangcheng, Heilongjiang Province] Shuangcheng Mayor, 610 Office, and Shuangcheng Detention Center Rampantly Arresting Practitioners
Starting February 9th, during "Shuangcheng Falun Dafa Day", Mayor Zhu Qingwen of Shuangcheng City, Zhang Guofu from the "610 Office" and Jin Wanzhi from the Detention Center joined forces in a rampant pursuit and arrest of Falun Dafa practitioners. They ordered every work unit, neighborhood administration office, village committee, and police substation to coordinate with them in the arrests. They set traps, employed guards to monitor, and rented many vans to patrol the night streets in search of practitioners. A team of thugs ransacked their homes and arrested those practitioners believed to be core members. They acted like bandits, searching everywhere in the houses for valuable possessions and cell phones. They extorted money, cursed practitioners, and forced them to sign prepared statements forbidding the belief in Truth Compassion and Tolerance. Over 30 practitioners were arrested, including a mother with a nursing infant.
Shuangcheng Labor Bureau spends 50 Yuan per day to hire unemployed people to monitor the activities of practitioner Guo Qingzhu's family. Using a thick stick to stop the door from the outside, the couple Guo Qingzhu and Jiao Xiuying are prevented from going out.

[Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Qi Shuangyuan, the Former Director of the Transportation Police Substation in Huachuan County, Is Once Again Illegally Detained in Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp
Instructed by the "610 Office" in Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province, the "610 Office" and police department in Huachuan County captured Huachuan Falun Dafa disciple Qi Shuangyuan at his home at 10 o'clock on the evening of February 8, 2002. They sent him to Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp the next day. Qi Shuangyuan was the director of the Transportation Police Substation in Huachuan County. He was once illegally sentenced to two years of forced labor "reeducation" for firmly cultivating Falun Dafa. In November of 2000, he walked out the forced labor camp with his righteous thoughts. Later on, he went to validate Dafa in Beijing and was arrested by police at Tiananmen Square. He was sent back to Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp. In September of 2001, Qi Shuangyuan went on a hunger strike protesting his illegal forced labor "reeducation." He was then released on bail for medical treatment. This time, right before the Chinese Lunar New Year, he was separated from his family again.
[Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Exposing the Evil of Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp in Persecuting Falun Dafa Disciples
The policemen from Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp have publicized how they have shown concern for Dafa disciples in the labor camp. The following facts show just the opposite.
In April of 2000, Dafa practitioner Men Xiaohua refused to watch TV programs defaming Dafa and drill. The policemen in charge of the male criminals' team took her to the first floor, where they beat and kicked her, then struck her neck with electric batons so severely that her whole neck became black and bruised, giving off a smell of burning flesh.
In May, when Dafa disciple An Hong refused to watch TV programs defaming Dafa, the police guards bound her to a bed for nine days. She couldn't move at all during that time.
In August of 2001, Dafa disciples removed a propaganda sign spreading slanderous rumors. In a frenzy, police guards beat up Liu Xiufang, Huang Jinrong and another practitioner for removing the sign. Officials then extended their terms by three months, two months and one month respectively, and imposed a fine of 200 Yuan on each of them. The fine was forcibly collected when the Dafa disciples' family members came to see them. The day after the sign was removed, guards bound five practitioners, including Men Xiaohua, Li Ping, and Liang Li for 25 days, during which time the disciples were unable to move at all. Despite this inhumane torture, Song Huiqing and Zhao Yaxian removed from a wall still another propaganda sign spreading slanderous rumors. The police bound them for nine days, extended their terms by two months, and imposed a fine.
Dafa disciples Ma Lijia, Li Xiurong, Liang Li, Wu Dongsheng, An Baozhen, and others went on a hunger strike protesting their illegal detention. The very next day, they were submitted to brutal force-feeding. Even though some disciples said they would eat by themselves, they were still force-fed with the help of criminal prisoners. This is yet one more brutal means of persecution figured out by the directors of the labor camp team.
These are some examples of how the police of Jiamusu Forced Labor Camp have shown "great concern" for Falun Dafa disciples.
Thirteen-year-old Girl: The Chinese Lunar New Year is coming. Others have family reunions while I have only tears.
I am a thirteen-year-old girl. My family was forcibly separated only because my parents practice Falun Dafa. On June 3, 2001, when my father was building the barn, policemen from the local substation suddenly came to our house. They took away my father for no reason and sent him to Changchun City, where he was sentenced to five years in jail. My mother and I were left at home. I missed my father very much. However, misfortune came to my family again. On January 18, 2002, my mother was captured at home as well. She was sentenced to one year forced labor "reeducation" in a forced labor camp in Changchun City. I was left alone in the empty house. Today, the first day of the Chinese Lunar New Year, I write these heartfelt words, telling all kind-hearted uncles and aunts in the world that: It was Falun Dafa that has made my father and mother live together harmoniously and not quarrel with each other any longer; it is because of Falun Dafa that their illnesses have disappeared; it is Falun Dafa that has saved my whole family. I miss my father and mother. Please help end the persecution of Falun Dafa. It is not wrong to be a good person. Please help to reunite the thousands of families that have been separated. Please help to make it possible for thousands of children to return to their parents' embrace. The world needs "Truth-Compassion-Forbearance."
[Dehui City, Jilin Province] Relatives Search for Falun Dafa Practitioner He Xinyu, Kidnapped by Police from Dehui City
Falun Dafa practitioner He Xinyu was kidnapped while distributing truth-clarifying materials about Falun Gong in Heizuizi Female Forced Labor Camp, Changchun City, and then sent back to Dehui City Detention Center. Several days later, a division of the Changchun Police Department took practitioner He away for further persecution. The Dehui Detention Center refused to reveal the location where He was held in custody. He's relatives have spent over a month trying to find out the location but have been unsuccessful. We hope that fellow practitioners will send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil forces that are persecuting He Xinyu.
[Lishu County, Jilin Province] Non-Practitioners with Sense of Justice Sent to Forced Labor Camp
On January 18, 2002, two non-practitioners Xie Shuqing and Tian Shuqing traveled with Falun Dafa practitioners Zhang Shufen and Yuan Zhenhui to Heshan Township of Xiaochengzi Town in Lishu County to distribute truth-clarifying materials about Falun Gong. They were kidnapped by police from Xiaochengzi Town police station, and then were sent to Lishu County Detention Center for offenders on criminal charges. The police forced these two non-practitioners to denounce Falun Dafa, but both of them refused. They have been sent to Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp to serve a 1-year term of forced labor "reeducation." The two practitioners who traveled with them were unjustly sentenced to 2 years of forced labor "reeducation." This shows that Jiang's regime has gone overboard in suppressing Falun Gong by treating ordinary citizens who don't practice cultivation unjustly.
[Fuyu County, Jilin Province] Eight Falun Dafa Practitioners Arrested
Eight Falun Dafa practitioners, including Ren Changyou, Yang Dewei, Liu Jingang and others from Caijiagou Town of Fuyu County in Jilin Province went to Beijing to rectify the Fa and to distribute truth-clarifying materials about Falun Gong. They were unjustly arrested and illegally held in custody for over 60 days. No meetings with family members have been allowed. No information is available regarding the four female practitioners among them. Police have extorted 2000 Yuan from each of their families (the average monthly income of an urban worker is only 500 Yuan). Those who could not afford the payment had to submit food to police at a highly discounted price. No official seal or cashier's seal was on the receipts for payment.
[Shandong Province] New Crimes Committed by Villains in Laigang Steel Group during Spring Festival Season
- Falun Dafa practitioner Ouyang Yongkui (male) was unjustly sent into Wangcun Forced Labor Camp in Shandong Province. Early in November of 2001, Ouyang Yongkui was kidnapped by villains in his hometown in Ningyang County in Shandong Province. He was illegally held in custody in the police patrolling office of Laigang Steel Group. Ouyang Yongkui was firm in his righteous thoughts and did not give in to the evil. Before the Lunar New Year (February 12, 2002), vicious police forcibly sent him to Wangcun Forced Labor Camp for further persecution.
- Falun Dafa practitioner Yang Jie (female) was unjustly sent to Shandong Jinan Female Forced Labor Camp. Around New Year's Day of 2002, Yang Jie went to Beijing to rectify the Fa and was arrested by villains. She was sent back to the Laigang Steel Group and was held in the company's police patrolling office. She has held onto her firm belief in Dafa no matter what tricks were used by the villains. Before the Lunar New Year in 2002, vicious police forcibly sent her to Wangcun Forced Labor Camp for further persecution.
- Before the Lunar New Year this year, villains in Laigang Steel Group went overboard and illegally arrested Falun Dafa practitioners in order to prevent them from going to Beijing to appeal. Zhang Shengwei (male), An Jin (male), Lu Qingfang (female), Qi Demei (female), and Liu Shuying (female) were held in custody in the company hostel. The collaborators Wang Dexian and his son Wang Yong were called in to brainwash these five practitioners. At present, all five practitioners are still held in custody.

The Liberation Army's Daily published fabricated reports slandering Falun Dafa on January 26, 2002. Reporters include Yue Shuangxi and Zhang Jianjun.
Guangzhou Daily published an article slandering Falun Dafa. It reported the arrest of Zhang Yinan and his wife, proprietors of Tianhui Nurturing Company at Rongchang County in Chongqing Municipality. The article distorted numerous facts. It also published an article by the so-called "People's Daily Commentator," who did not dare to sign his name. The editors responsible for section A4 of Guangzhou Daily were Huang Chuhui and Lin Fang.
