Elderly Professor Refuses to Give Up

Prior to practicing Falun Gong, an old professor suffered from severe heart disease and cataracts. After she started practicing Falun Gong, all of her illnesses were cured. Although she was nearly 70 years old, her menstrual period returned. She knew nothing about computers, but in order to spread Falun Dafa she learned, with the help of her fellow practitioners, how to download articles from Minghui Net (Chinese version of Clearwisdom Net) and then passed the truth-clarifying materials to the Chinese people. At the end of the year 2000, she went to Beijing to validate Dafa. She was wrongfully arrested and sent to a detention center. During her detention, she continued to clarify the truth about Falun Dafa to the police officers. She was released on the next evening. Some time after this, she was forced to leave her home to avoid further persecution. She now lives in a small room with two other practitioners. They are persisting in studying the Fa, practicing the Falun Gong exercises, sending forth righteous thoughts and clarifying the truth. She is always upbeat and cheerful in spite of the suffocating environment.

I Returned to the Fa-Rectification

On the morning of September 5, 2002, I was taken to a brainwashing center in Wuhan City, Hubei province. I was handcuffed and not allowed to sleep or to use the restroom. I was tortured so badly that my blood pressure suddenly rose very high and my heart rate increased dramatically. Because I was not able to endure the torture, I became fearful and therefore left a loophole for the evil. I succumbed and attempted to avoid the torture. Unfortunately, what was even more unendurable was waiting for me. Those who wrote the statement to "break from" Falun Gong were forcibly ordered to "expose and criticize" Falun Gong. Thus, although I clearly knew that Teacher and Falun Dafa are great, I still committed against my will the enormous sin of slandering Buddha and defaming Dafa. After that, my heart was in incomparable agony, as if I were in hell. I wanted to die to end all of this suffering but I did not want to give the evil the chance to make an issue of it to further damage Dafa. Thanks to Teacher's benevolent compassion, and thanks to fellow practitioners for helping me to come out of the shadow, I once again immersed myself in the current of Fa-rectification.

Facts of the Persecution

At the end of the year 2001, riot police officers from the forced labor camp in Huludao City, Liaoning Province violently beat Falun Gong practitioners. Each practitioner was monitored by a criminal inmate day and night, and they were forced to sit for 24 hours a day. If they resisted, they would be immediately beaten and cruelly tortured. In the brainwashing site on the second floor, practitioners were forced to watch videos slandering Falun Gong. If practitioners don't watch them, they would be brutally tortured.

Leaders of a textile mill in Shijiazhuang City forced Falun Gong practitioners to write the so-called "guarantee statements" of not practicing Falun Gong. They arbitrarily and unlawfully fine practitioners, fire practitioners from their jobs, and even abduct practitioners and send them to brainwashing centers. Practitioners Ms. Qi Xiangcai and Ms. Wu Shuling were forcibly sent to the brainwashing center. Practitioner Ms. Song Guilan was harassed and threatened a number of times during the period of her maternity leave. Ms. Song was forced to leave home for a long period of time to avoid further persecution. She was also fired from her job.

On November 8, 13 Falun Gong practitioners from the Hongxing Machine Factory were forcefully abducted by police officers and sent to a Xinhua Police Substation for interrogation. An elderly practitioner was ruthlessly kicked and beaten, and consequently, he appeared to lose sight in both eyes. He was suffering extreme pain. The vicious police officers feared bearing any responsibility and in the end sent him home.

News and Activities from Around the World

According to a report from the World Journal on December 21, 2002, Dr. Jingduan Yang, a physician from Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia, urgently called on the overseas Chinese people and international human right organizations to help rescue his sister, Ms. Jingfang Yang. She was arrested by the Cao County police in Anhui Province for practicing Falun Gong on October 30, and her whereabouts are still not known. In the same period of time, some other practitioners from Hefei City, Anhui Province were also wrongfully arrested.
