[Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Dafa Practitioner Zou Jiangang from Wuchang District Sentenced to Ten Years Imprisonment
On January 10, 2002, Dafa practitioner Zou Jiangang from Wuchang District was illegally arrested. After eight months of brainwashing, he still refused to give up cultivating Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance. He has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment.
[Jingyuan County, Gansu Province] Dafa Practitioner Zhang Binwu Illegally Sentenced to Six Years Imprisonment
Dafa practitioner Mr. Zhang Binwu from Shaheyan Village, Wulan Township was reported to the police while clarifying the truth of Falun Gong to his fellow villagers. The police arrested Zhang and ransacked his home. Jingyuan County sentenced him to two years imprisonment while Baiyin City sentenced him to six years imprisonment.
Policemen Pan Qianrui and Ding Shanghe from Jingyuan County's Police Department keep committing crimes against Dafa and Dafa practitioners. They have illegally sent at least 11 practitioners to forced labor camps or prison, including Mr. Feng Xinlei, Mr. Jiang Yingdou, Mr. Zhan Xuecheng, Mr. Zhang Binwu and Mr. Liu Wu.
[Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Policemen from Ganjingzi District Commit Evil Deeds
The "Ideology Education School" in Ganjingzi District, Dalian City is a notorious brainwashing center. It's a place jointly set up by the police, residential committees and the "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems]. There are no human rights and freedom at all in the brainwashing center. The police stationed there don't allow Dafa practitioners to speak. They physically abuse the practitioners and prohibit them from receiving visits or seeing anybody. The policemen feel free to do whatever they like, and they even threaten practitioners' family members.
A thug named Zhang Yu is the most vicious. Under the instigation of policeman Wang, Zhang attempted to force an older practitioner named Ge to write a so-called "Breaking Off Statement" [A statement promising to stop practicing Falun Gong and not go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong.]. When this practitioner refused, Zhang Yu led four vicious people to press the practitioner down and sign the document by holding the practitioner's hand.
According to some staff members in the Gangjingzi District, the other three districts in Dalian -- Zhongshan, Shahekou and Xigang -- also have similar brainwashing centers. They even charge exorbitant fees for "attending" which practitioners have to attend against their will.
[China] A Housewife Takes Initiative to Set up a Printed Materials Site
A materials site holding printed materials containing the facts about Falun Dafa in a region was destroyed. Seeing the local printed materials supply was nearly paralyzed, a female practitioner who is a housewife took initiative to set up a printed materials site on her own. She rented a place and took up the work of distributing printed materials. A non-practitioner took over the technical work of taking information from the Internet and printing. They have been doing this for almost a year. The female practitioner also learned to operate a computer. Thus local practitioners are again able to read Teacher's new articles and information from Clearwisdom soon after they are published.
[Xianning City, Hubei Province] Dafa Practitioners Chen Weiqun and Qin Xiaoyin Arrested
On the afternoon of September 26, 2002, policemen from Section 1 of Wuhan City's Police Department arrested Dafa practitioners Chen Weiqun and Qin Xiaoyin from Xianning City and two practitioners from Wuhan City. They covered the practitioners' heads and took them back to the police department. The next day, they covered the practitioners' heads again with thick plastic bags and dragged them off to Section 6 for further persecution.
[Hubei Province] Policemen's Arrogant Claims
Detained practitioner Mr. Fu Lulin is now locked up in a 1 square meter solitary compartment in Qin Duankou Prison because he refused to follow the police's orders. He is unable to stand up or lie down to sleep in the compartment. It has been over two months since he was locked up there. Fu Lulin is staging a hunger strike in protest. After he is released from the compartment, he will be sent to the No. 1 division. Policemen in the No. 1 division claimed that in order to have Fu Lulin give up his belief, they would order criminals to torture Mr. Fu. They said that if Fu Lulin refuses to write the "repentance statement," he would be tortured to the point of "no hope for living, and no chance for dying."
[Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Policemen Acting like Bandits
At around 5:00 a.m. on November 2, 2002, about 40 to 50 uniformed and plainclothes officers came to the residential building of the 2nd Division of the Shijiazhuang City Railway No. 3 Bureau in Hebei Province. They took the excuse of verifying the residents' identification to ransack practitioners' homes. They took away audio equipment and Dafa books, and arrested two practitioners.
When the practitioners refused to open the door, the policemen would break in with a master key. Some policemen even broke down the burglar door or broke in through the windows. Isn't it obvious who was really disturbing public security? No wonder some residents said, "Nowadays the good people are suffering, while the bad people are running rampant. These policemen are no different than bandits."
[Zibo City, Shandong Province] Practitioners Detained
The Western Shandong Forced Labor Camp, otherwise known as the Shandong Province Law Education Center, is located in Wang Village of Zibo City, Shandong Province. It's in reality a brainwashing center for Falun Gong practitioners. Practitioners from Weihai City and other locations in Shandong province are sent here.

[Gansu Province] Dafa Practitioner Gao Qingyang Arrested
At the end of November 2002, Dafa practitioner Gao Qingyang from Shaliang Village, Dongwan Township, Jingyuan County, Gansu Province, was suddenly abducted by over ten policemen who were staking out at his home. It was heard that the arrest was carried out by officers from the Pingchuan Police Department, the Jingyuan County Police Department and the Baiyin City Police Department. This Dafa practitioner is still under illegal detention. Gao Qingyang has been illegally detained and harassed many times for going to Beijing to appeal and refusing to renounce his beliefs.
[Quzhou County, Hebei Province] Dafa Practitioners Jia Chunyou and Song Fengju Illegally Arrested by Jize County Police
On November 12, 2002, Dafa practitioners Jia Chunyou and Song Fengju from Quzhou County, Hebei Province were arrested from home by Hao Yongguang, the associate director of Jize County's Police Department and Chen Shuping, the chief of Political and Security Section of Jize County's Police Department. They are currently being detained at Jize County's Detention Center.
Since the day of their arrest, Jia Chunyou and Song Fengju have been on a hunger strike in protest.
[Dehui City, Jilin Province] Dafa Practitioner Li Chong is Sent to Forced Labor Camp
On November 7, when Dafa practitioner Li Chong, from Tiantai Township, Dehui City, visited his aunt, officers from the Hongqi Police Precinct arrested him. He was tortured by various means, including having his head covered by a plastic bag, being forced to sit on the Tiger Bench [Practitioners are forced to sit on a small iron bench that is approximately 20 cm (6 inches) tall with their knees tied together. He is forced to sit straight up with his eyes looking straight ahead. His hands are tied behind the back or sometimes placed on his knees. He is not allowed to turn his head, close his eyes, talk to anyone or move at all. Several inmates are assigned to watch the practitioner. They would force the practitioner to remain motionless while sitting on the bench. Usually some hard objects are inserted underneath the practitioner's lower legs or ankles to make it harder for them to tolerate this abuse (see illustration on http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2001/11/24/16156.html)], etc. Li Chong has been illegally sentenced to forced labor.
[Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Lawless Policemen Terrorize Locals
Recently, lawless Beijing officials went to Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province, to force all Internet bars over the city to close for three days, presumably to install new monitoring software. Under instructions from the Beijing officials, the local policemen launched a new round of persecution against Dafa practitioners.
They arrested Dafa practitioners through stake-outs and tapping their phone calls. Many Dafa practitioners have been illegally arrested, including Ma Xuejun, Wang Qingrong (female), Dai Lixia (Female), Zuo Xiuyun (female), Liu Xiufang (female), Yang, Dai, and Jiang.
At night, lawless policemen also performed detailed checks of residents who had access to the Internet. They are trying to find out locations for Dafa material sites and where Dafa practitioners are connecting to the Internet. They have disrupted the lives of ordinary citizens needlessly and been the subject of many complaints.
