The head of the "610 Office" in a city in Northeast China publicly stated in a brainwashing class, "I think Falun Gong practitioners are really remarkable. The strong perseverance of the Chinese people has appeared in them. The people of today lack such spirit, especially our Party members. They have no such moral qualities, at all." The audience included "610 Office" officials and some arrested Falun Dafa practitioners who were forced to participate in the brainwashing class.
[Lingwu City, Ningxia Province] Twenty Practitioners Are Illegally Arrested
In order to find out the sources of truth-clarifying materials, police from Yinchuan City and Lingwu City in Ningxia Province illegally arrested 20 fellow practitioners within a few days since November 17. We have also learned that 11 practitioners in Wuzhong City were also arrested.

Since November 1, police in Tangshan Area have been conducting wide-scale illegal arrests of Falun Dafa practitioners. On November 9, the Fengrun County local "610 Office" arrested another three practitioners at their homes, which were subsequently illegally ransacked.

During the time surrounding the 16th Party Congress, a lot of Falun Dafa practitioners in various districts and counties were illegally arrested, including practitioners who had been forced into homelessness, or who had been recently released from the forced labor camps. Police arrested practitioners without following any legal procedures. Any practitioners who were found to be involved in making and distributing truth-clarifying materials would be directly sent to forced labor camps. Other practitioners were forcibly sent to brainwashing classes. Any person who refused to accept the brainwashing would then be illegally sent to a labor camp. Those practitioners who wrote a "repentance letter" [a statement to acknowledge remorse for practicing Falun Gong, to give up Falun Gong, and to never again associate with those practitioners who practice Falun Gong and/or go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong,] would be released after the 16th Party Congress was over. The wicked people were rampant and merciless. It's hard to imagine how many families have been broken, and how many human tragedies the 16th Party Congress has caused.
[Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Xu Ming Is Kidnapped and Sent to the Huangpu Brainwashing Center for Further Persecution
At the beginning of October, Falun Dafa practitioner Xu Ming in Guangzhou City was unlawfully arrested at his workplace by officials from the "610 Office" and the police station. He was illegally detained under tight surveillance in the Guangzhou Huangpu Brainwashing Center. He was not allowed to contact his family, nor were they allowed to visit him. He was unjustly deprived of all his basic human rights.

Changchun Evening News reported on November 21 that the Changchun authorities are planning to systematically search houses for half a year. They clearly stated that the targets are Falun Dafa practitioners.

On October 31, the Bazhou Police Department in Langfang City, Hebei Province illegally arrested Dafa practitioners on a large scale. They also arrested the practitioners who were forced into homelessness by monitoring their cellular phones.

Recently, at least 10 Falun Dafa practitioners were being illegally held in Xuanhua Detention Center in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. Many of them have become very weak due to persecution. Female practitioner Li Guirong suffers from shortness of breath and pressure in her chest. Feng Lijuan (female) is unable to stand, and she will fall if she tries to walk. Wang Junfeng (female) has been afflicted with high blood pressure and heart disease. Her physical condition is very critical; however, the officials in the detention center ignore it. They do not allow the practitioners' families to visit them, and cover up all information, hiding it from the relatives. In addition, the officials in the detention center brutally force-feed the practitioners who are hunger striking.
The environment in the detention center is very bad. 20 people are locked in a single small male cell that contains only one bed. They thus have to sleep on their side and cannot turn at all. In the female cell, over 10 people sleep on one bed. The toilet and bed are both in the cell. The food is also very bad, and is not nutritious, and furthermore, practitioners are not given enough food to eat.

Zhang Yanxue is from the Political Security Team of the Public Security Section of Xuanhua District Police Department in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. She specializes in persecuting Falun Gong. She has illegally sentenced several dozen practitioners to imprisonment or forced labor "re-education". She sent many others to the brainwashing center, and fined them a lot of money.
