Life experience: I have been in the U.S.A. for seven years, although it seems like only a blink of an eye. I am proud of being Chinese. On the other hand, I was able to read reports here I had no access to in China, such as articles about the serious corruption within the government, the upper level strata of government leaders not listening to the people's voices, and the decline of social morality. Some people inside and outside of China think these reports are humiliating to the Chinese people, but I think loving a country and loving a government are two completely different concepts. True patriotism is loving the people, the culture, the land, -- it has nothing to do with those in power. Good advice is harsh to the ear and good medicine is bitter to the tongue. Out of true love for their country and in hopes that China will become a just and great nation, many people of insight let the public know about the government's mistakes and shortcomings, just so that the government can correct itself. A government that truly thinks for its people should listen to their voices with kindness instead of suppressing them in any way it can. In the U.S.A, it's common for the two political parties to watch and criticize each other, but their common goal is to protect the nation's interest, and they are never blamed for not loving the country because of that. If Chinese people in and outside of China can be clear-headed about loving a country, those who truly hurt China will no longer be able to take advantage of this issue.
Truth and People's Hearts
A senior engineer clarified the truth in an emergency room. In May 2002, I was kidnapped by vicious police and illegally detained. After holding a hunger strike for six days, I was sent to the county hospital emergency room. Many people and hospital staff surrounded me and watched, and I started to clarify the truth about the clumsy lies of Tiananman "Self-immolation" incident broadcast on the Focal Point Interview on CCTV. In the end I said, "Please, think about it; people in more than 50 countries around the world practice Falun Gong, and many practitioners inside and outside of China are highly educated. During the past several years, more than 700 proclamations were awarded to Falun Gong by governments around the world, and not a single case of self-immolation or murder happened in those countries. Even in China, those things never took place during the seven years from 1992 to July 20, 1999, -- they happened precisely during the three years of persecution against Falun Gong! Look at the facts around us; who is telling a lie? Please remember, Falun Dafa is good! Truth, Compassion, Tolerance will forever remain righteous!" People all nodded in agreement. Some said, "Yeah, that's right!" During the time when the detention center head discussed with the doctor how to write my diagnosis and what to do next, many people were offered salvation in the emergency room.
Practitioners Exchange Insights
I clarified the truth in the police station. One day, the police came to my home and harassed me. They confiscated a dozen truth clarification VCDs, kidnapped me to the police station. In the police station, I didn't cooperate with the evil. I sent forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil elements manipulating them in other dimensions as I clarified the truth to them. I said, "You follow Jiang blindly, without even thinking about or analyzing who is good and who is bad. Don't you think 'Truth, Compassion, Tolerance' is good?" They didn't say anything. I said, "In fact, our society and country need 'Truth, Compassion, Tolerance.' Jiang is wrong. We are not." Later, I walked out of the police station with Master's protection.
Truth About Persecution
I am a sixty-year-old woman. On January 2, 2002, the police kidnapped me and sent me to a detention center. They kicked me violently with their boots and hit my head against the wall. They poured boiling water on me and didn't give me anything to eat. Later, I was transferred to the Maojiashan Female Forced Labor Camp, where I was forced to run long-distance almost non-stop every day. I was also forced to stand and also squat in the army posture for long periods of time. I was forced to write the "three statements," which I now solemnly announce are void. [Note: The "three statements" force a practitioner to declare that one is sorry to have practiced Dafa in the first place, will no longer associate with other Dafa practitioners and never go to Beijing to appeal for Dafa.]
The vicious guards at Jiamusi City Forced Labor Camp tried to force Dafa practitioners to wear common prisoner uniforms but met with resistance from the practitioners. The vicious guards beat the practitioners so severely that many of them could not walk for several days. The guards forced the practitioners to do heavy labor and those who refused to do the work would be brutally beaten. These days, the labor camp officials force practitioners to sit on small stools for long period of time. [Note: Sitting on these small stools amounts to torture, since they are scarcely a few inches off the ground and are designed to severely hurt the knees, back and buttocks. These stool have no backrests.] They force practitioners to listen and watch anti-Dafa discs and videotapes and read anti-Dafa newspapers that criticize Dafa. On October 25, five practitioners in the male division escaped, but they were later caught, brought back and brutally beaten.
