From September 18th through the 24th, governments from around the world participated in a series of international conferences that took place in Copenhagen. Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) also held many activities. Falun Gong held a press conference on the afternoon of September 21st. Nearly forty people attended. Dai Zhizhen and Zhao Ming described the persecution that they and their families endured in China. A video entitled "An Appeal to the World" was then shown.

During the question and answer period, an agent of Jiang's totalitarian regime questioned Zhao Ming, "Why is what you said in China is different than what you say abroad?" He intended to discredit Zhao Ming for not being truthful, and requested to show a video of Zhao Ming making statements in China. However, Zhao was forced to make those statements against his will, while under coercion. At the time he made the statements, he was imprisoned and being brutally tortured in a forced-labor camp.

Zhao Ming stood up and calmly said, "I can answer your question. I just said that during the two weeks prior to my release, they increased their attacks on me. Their goal was to record what I would say, contrary to my heart, when I could no longer bear the torture. Now you all know where television broadcasts of people renouncing their practices really come from. Now that I am free, I can speak freely, and I can do whatever I want to do. No one is forcing me to speak. And what I want to say is that I have never stopped practicing Falun Gong. It is my belief and I now have the freedom to practice it." The entire audience rose and applauded.

A female agent of Jiang's regime raised misleading questions, and spread lies. Some other people started to talk heatedly against Falun Gong, and the woman shouted loudly. Practitioners immediately pointed out that the disruptive people in Copenhagen conference were in league with the regime. Practitioners also pointed out that if Jiang's regime was reasonable, it would allow the news media in China the freedom to openly report both sides of the story.

The person in charge of the NGO activities asked the people sent by the Chinese government not to shout. A Western practitioner, a sociologist, began asking questions of the two agents. They and nine others from the so-called "Chinese Human Rights Research Committee" left together. A non-practitioner said to them, "You should stay and listen to what these people have to say."

The staff of Jiang's regime tried to disturb several other Falun Gong press conferences over the course of the Summit; however this only enabled others to clearly see through the lies and to better understand the evil persecution.
