For the last three years, Dafa practitioners from all around the world have put in a great deal of effort to clarify the truth to people. Due to various reasons, however, only a small proportion of the Chinese population really understands the truth and benefits from it. The questions are: How do we clarify the truth more effectively to the whole spectrum of the Chinese population? and, How do we clarify the truth while at the same time, keeping up with the Fa-rectification?

Through constant Fa study and countless discussions with fellow practitioners, we have come up with the following summary:

I. On a practitioner's motives, attitudes, and the information given to people when clarifying the truth...

1. Be passionate when speaking and rational when giving information.

The intention is to clarify the truth to the Chinese people who have been misled by the rumors and propaganda. The word "Chinese" is not used in an abstract sense. Chinese people are a group of living beings that genuinely exist, and with flesh and blood. Only when we develop the capacity to embrace, understand and communicate comfortably with them will we establish a mutual link and win their hearts; we will then be effective in helping them recreate their new future lives.

2. Try to find out the reason that prevents the person from accepting the truth.

This could be a particular notion, an attachment, or a passion for a certain thing. Above all, always act patient, tolerant, and non-argumentative when explaining things.

3. Value every word, every opportunity, and the effect of every article we write.

In this final stage of Fa-rectification, with so many people, every word we say to them, every article we write, and every piece of information we give them may be the only opportunity they will ever get in their lives. If every piece of information we present to them while clarifying the truth goes straight to their hearts and leaves a good impression behind, the success rate will surely be improved.

4. Be compassionate when clarifying the truth.

It is important to be appreciative of other people's perspectives on issues--be they good or bad, true or false. We target the people who have been misled by the lies of Jiang Zemin and his gang. These people are victims of the whole event. Their future depends on whether there are people who can help them understand the truth in time, as they are constantly being brainwashed by the propaganda in China. We must be sure to not lose hope for them just because they have not understood the truth at present. We need to use a Dafa practitioners' compassion to help rekindle their own inner compassion as well.

5. Be disciplined and use "Truth, Compassion and Forbearance" while clarifying the truth.

Use real and tangible examples from the personal experiences of practitioners themselves. Avoid overwhelming people with too much information and try to use words that everyday people can understand.

6. Make good use of truth clarifying materials and take note of their content.

Before China officially banned Falun Gong, Dafa practitioners often exchanged cultivation stories. These stories had a great impact on their understanding of the Fa and on the upgrading of their levels. In actuality, the write-ups formed an important part of the truth of Dafa. If we bring these stories out again, they will help people know other sides of Falun Gong. Aside from the persecution, if a Dafa practitioner going through tribulations can maintain an open mind and a sense of humor, they will certainly give off an amicable image to the public.

II. Try to identify the source of the problem--emotional, conceptual or otherwise--that prevents a person from looking at the truth objectively.

If we do not have the desire to find out the cause of their problems, we can't say we have done our job whole-heartedly. Moreover, we will easily lose our focus and the objective we had when clarifying the truth to people. Thus, the result will not be good.

Our fellow practitioners have compiled the following questions commonly asked by the Chinese in China. Questions 1, 2 and 3 are most frequently asked, whereas the rest of the questions and comments are more often asked by people from different age groups and from different cultural backgrounds.

  1. We do not object to Qigong practice. But why did the incident happen on April 25? The stability of the society is very important.
  2. Why are practitioners not permitted to take medicine?
  3. Self-immolation is evil. It is a menace to society.
  4. There is nothing wrong with practicing the exercises. But political involvement is no good. (We have no comments on the health keeping aspect of Falun Gong. But when there is too much ideological involvement in its practice, that's where the problem lies.)
  5. The Chinese economy is getting better every day. Our standard of living is much better than in the past. Chinese society is very complicated, so if you take over, can you guarantee a better reform? (Note- practitioners do not involve themselves in the contention of fame and power but this is not common knowledge to all Chinese nowadays.)
  6. If a law is passed to condemn the practitioners, there must be a reason. Surely, you must have done something bad, even if it was only a minority. The society needs to be stabilized.
  7. We know of someone who practices Falun Gong and who is involved in all sorts of crazy things. This is why we dislike Falun Gong.
  8. The Cultural Revolution is history. How can we compare this period with the Cultural Revolution? The government has publicized so many things. Surely they can't be all wrong. Besides, the overseas media may not necessarily be completely correct and objective. For example, China is getting better and better. It is not like what some media from overseas reported being "a mess."
  9. I want to live a comfortable and peaceful life. I don't know what you are doing, and I have no desire to know.

How do we tackle these questions and comments? Among the practitioners who clarify the truth to the Chinese public everyday, they have lots of personal experience and stories. Do all practitioners know or understand the circumstances from which people bring up these questions? Are all Dafa practitioners able to answer these fundamental questions and related issues? When we do clarify the truth, do we actually touch their hearts and let them accept what they have originally misunderstood? As for our families and good friends who have the greatest predestined relationships with us, have we attempted to untie the knots in their hearts and to let them face the truth more objectively? These questions have attracted our serious thoughts and consideration.

The above are some of my thoughts to share with you. Please feel free to comment.
