(Clearwisdom.net) On October 12, 2002 Toronto Falun Dafa practitioners held an activity at the municipal square outside of City Hall. They performed on stage and collected signatures on a petition urging the Canadian government to raise the Falun Gong issue at the APEC conference, to ask Jiang's regime stop the persecution immediately, and to call upon all segments of society to help in the urgent rescue of practitioners' family members who are being persecuted in China.
There was a cold rain in the morning and the sky was still cloudy, but the Falun Dafa practitioners were used to bad weather and they set up the stage without any hesitation.
An elderly Chinese gentlemen who is a leader in the local Chinese community arrived early and gave a speech as a "Friend of Falun Gong." The cold and cloudy weather didn't lower his interest; on the contrary, he set aside the prepared text of his speech and composed a song named, "Dafa is good" to the tune of a traditional Taiwanese song, "Sound of the Plum Blossom." He sang the song together with Bai Xue, a former soloist in the Shenyang Military Song and Dance Team. He said, "I arrived here early this morning. It was cold but I saw that Falun Gong practitioners were not afraid of the cold. So I thought about the plum blossom. The plum blossoms are more beautiful in cold weather. Then I thought about the "Sound of the Plum Blossom." I composed the lyric right then and named it 'Dafa is Good'." He continued, "I never wrote any songs before. Today when I wanted to write, I finished it quickly. It is the Teacher who helped me."
The clouds gradually cleared from the sky and the sun appeared. The performance was also about to end, when there was a dramatic change on the municipal square as buses with Chinese tourists arrived.
When the practitioners saw this, they immediately acted accordingly and began to add performances on the stage. Two western practitioners who had appealed on Tiananmen Square sang the songs "For You We Come" and "Falun Dafa is Good." Then the male chorus sang the songs for those Chinese tourists. At the same time, the host clarified the truth of the "Staged Immolation", "4.25 Truth", "the Fu Yibing Murder Case" and told them that Falun Dafa is warmly welcomed by over 60 countries around the world. The practitioner wanted them to treasure this valuable opportunity, think with their own minds, and take the truth back to their friends and relatives.
The practitioners around the square also found chances to talk to them and told them that Falun Dafa is widely spread around the world. All levels of the Canadian government support Falun Dafa. The Chinese tourists didn't talk but they listened carefully. They accepted all kinds of materials. Some of them were curious and asked the professions of the practitioners. A practitioner told them, "I am an accountant. The man on the stage is an MBA. Many overseas practitioners have advanced education degrees. We have our own jobs and personal lives." A young man from Xiamen stayed about one hour on the square and talked to a practitioner from Taiwan. The Taiwanese practitioner told him about the popularity of Falun Gong in Taiwan, where over 100,000 people are practicing. Falun Gong is welcomed by people all over the world as part of the traditional culture of China. A man who looked like a cadre listened for a long time until another man from the group called him to leave. When he was leaving, he took a few truth-clarifying materials on his way out.
In addition, some practitioners sent forth righteous thoughts to clear the evil factors that prevented people from learning the truth so that the truth could enter people's hearts.
This golden opportunity came suddenly. When we have pure and righteous minds, Dafa will manifest its power and its perfect arrangement. As a result, we not only clarified the truth to the local government and local residents, but also to many Chinese tourists.
