Tajik President Imomali Rahmonov visited China last week. He agreed to return 3.5% of disputed territory to China, thus ending border disputes between China and Tajikistan.

The Tajik central news agency stated, Tajik President signed a border treaty with China's President, agreeing to return about 1,000 square kilometers of land to China.

In the past, China has been claiming that 28,000 square kilometers of land near Parmier belongs to China. However, this treaty has only given a small part of the land back to China.

The border of Tajikistan and China is 519 kilometers long. It is anticipated that the border treaty between Tajikistan and Beijing will not encounter much difficulty getting passed in the Tajik Congress.
