[Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Practitioners Liu Xifeng and Wang Xiaodong Arrested Again
Since the brutal torture of Mr. Liu Xifeng at the hands of the National Security Bureau and the Police Hospital in Shenzhen City was exposed on Clearwisdom.net last August, lawless policemen have tried to arrest him. On September 22, he disappeared and was confirmed to be in detention again. His wife Ms. Wang Xiaodong and another practitioner Ms. Wang were arrested at the same time. His nine-year-old son's whereabouts are unclear. It is possible he may have been detained with his father. In the summer of 2000, Wang Xiaodong was illegally detained in Guangdong Province's Shanshui Forced Labor Camp due to appealing in Beijing on three occasions. She was tortured to the point of mental collapse and then was released for medical care. Shortly afterwards, she made a full recovery with Dafa's power and melted herself into the mighty current of Fa-rectification again. The persecution against her was exposed on Clearwisdom.net in 2000. Consequently, policemen have been searching for her for a long time.

Dafa practitioners in a city of Southwestern China keep on with group Fa-study in urban and suburban areas. There are many Fa-study groups. After finishing their daily farm work, groups of three or five farmers would get together and go to a neighboring village to distribute truth-clarifying materials or put up banners. Usually they come back home early the next morning.

On May 16, policemen from Dongyang Township's Police Precinct arrested Dafa practitioner Mr. Jiang Zhengchao and Ms. He Meiyun from Hengyang City, Hunan Province for distributing Dafa truth-clarifying materials. The policemen beat and threatened them in order to extract a false confession under brutal torture. On the night of May 17, He Meiyun escaped from the evil den despite the tight surveillance and then had to live in exile. On May 18, policemen transferred Jiang Zhengchao away, who was confirmed to be detained in Hengyang City's No.2 Detention Center half a month later.

In August, two Dafa truth-clarifying material centers were destroyed in Guiyang City, Guizhou Province, and three practitioners were arrested. The property stolen by lawless officials included: a copier, computer, printer, and Dafa truth-clarifying materials. The total loss totaled over 10,000 Yuan, including money owned by practitioners who had lost their jobs or were forced to abandon their homes to avoid persecution. In March 2002, Ms. Dai Tingmei, a 54-year-old Dafa practitioner from Jiezhuang Town Rencheng District of Jining City, Shandong Province, was arrested from home and illegally detained at Jining City's Detention Center. So far she has been detained for half a year.

Lawless policemen forcibly put 50-year-old practitioner Ms. Niu Zhonghua and 58-year-old Ms. Hou (a retired employee of Shandong Province's Ruyi Wool Company), from Jining City, into that city's detention center for distributing truth-clarifying materials. Policemen then extorted ransom money from their families. Niu Zhonghua's family was extorted out of 5,000 Yuan and Hou's family 10,000 Yuan.

On July 20, 2002, policemen from Guiyang City's Railway Section and Anshun City secretly arrested Dafa practitioner Mr. Jiang Xianji from Guizhou Province. He was sent to Guizhou Province's Forced Labor Camp (namely the Zhongba Farm) for brainwashing. No one, including his family, was allowed to visit him. His unit paid the expenses for the brainwashing and the lawless officials attempted to force him to renounce his belief.

Recently, an article in the Harbin Daily stated, "Mainland China is the most climate-vulnerable area. According to statistics, every year over 333 billion square meters of farmland [12,355,000 acres] are affected by various weather-related disasters. Over six hundred million people are affected by extremely bad weather such as drought, floods and storms. On average, each year the economic losses caused by weather-related disasters amount to 3% to 6% of China's GDP."
