Oppose Any Indifference of Modern People

Participating in an SOS trip, we stopped by many cities to raise awareness in people's minds of the persecution against Falun Gong, and to offer those who were informed an opportunity in opposing the evil.

While standing there outside city hall holding an SOS banner to the passersby, someone suggested that we send forth our righteous thoughts. I immediately began to think of the most purest thoughts in my mind. We were standing there doing a most righteous thing, urgently calling for help in a rescue effort. Yet there still some people that passed by as if they saw nothing. I came to an understanding that people's indifference towards Dafa's persecution is a by-product of the deformed modern society and part of the old force's arrangement that is helping to impede the entire process of Fa-rectification.

The most frequent example of this thinking is when people say to me when I try to expose the evil"...Oh, this is happening everywhere in the world", "...it's just like the persecution of [such and such religious group]", or "...we are also being persecuted in our own country." The manifestation of this takes many different forms. I now see this more clearly as the old forces working on people's minds, imposing these thoughts so that people can find an excuse not to actively participate in opposing the evil.

Yet I have also come to realize that this loophole the demons have found, that people's indifference may also be a result that my own thoughts are not righteous enough. In teacher's recent Washington DC lecture, teacher has spoken "It has to be Dafa disciples who do Dafa work." Whenever I talk to people about the SOS effort from the viewpoint of an everyday person, treating the entire SOS effort like any other traditional human rights endeavor instead of looking at the encounter from a practitioner's perspective, I find the effect of clarifying the truth inadequate. For every person that we come into contact with, this is a potentially serious problem that will come up and I hope to be more vigilant in recognizing it and to keep my thoughts more righteous. In the past, whenever I heard such phrases, I used to verbally affirm this or to nod in agreement in order to gain people's sympathy or understanding, being afraid to offend and believing that as long as people were exposed to the evil it was enough to help save them.

Looking back now, doing such a thing is one of the worse things a cultivator can do and does not accord with Zhen-Shan-Ren and neither does it help to validate Fa. Teacher has written, "A Dafa disciple completely opposes everything arranged by the evil old forces." [Dafa is Indestructible]. As a cultivator, I should never acknowledge these warped notions and concepts. These are what the evil old forces are using to cover up human beings inherent good nature, to make an excuse for them not to actively offer help when it is urgently called for.
