China has to stop its persecution of Falun Gong. It is with sorrow and anger that we watch the extensive persecution of practitioners of Falun Gong in China. Assault, imprisonment and even killing of practitioners have been carried out by the Chinese government. This is completely unacceptable and is a serious violation of both freedom of religion and fundamental democratic rights. The persecution has to stop and the international community has to protest with vigour. As a member of the left-wing party and as a democratic socialist, I think that China's violations of human rights are repulsive and a disgrace to the Chinese government.
