Four death cases have been confirmed. Because this labor camp blocked all information, not all of the victim's names were made known. The confirmed victims are 55 year-old Zhang Yulan and 54 year-old Zhao Yayun, both female. It has been reported that many family members are on their way to the labor camp. This case has created a sensation. Officials from the central government and local office have gone there in person for inspection.

Zhang Yulan is the Falun Gong volunteer assistant of Mishang City, Heilongjiang Province Falun Gong practice site. It is known that she had been detained in the Wanjia Labor Camp of Harbin City for two years. Her family members went to Harbin City on June 20, but were not allowed to see her body until it was prepared for cremation on June 23.

Zhao Yayun is a villager of Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province. In July of 2000, she was arrested from home. One month later, she was sent to the Wanjia Labor Camp of Harbin City. Zhao Yayun died on June 20, 2001. Her body was covered with bruises when she died. When her family asked about it, they were told, "Go wherever you want to appeal. We decided to compensate you with 2000 Yuan to close the case."
