Practitioners of a Chinese spiritual movement protested outside the Chinese Consulate following the arrest one of their followers in China.
A group of 20 Falun Gong practitioners gathered to rally against the imprisonment of Ying Zhu, a Canadian landed immigrant and Montreal resident, at the consulate on 6 Ave. and 10 St. S.W.
She was arrested last week during a family visit to China by the notorious "610 Division," a state police group set up to persecute Falun Gong practitioners.
"We have to protest to get her out," said local Falun Gong spokesman Kai Liu.
