[Minghui Net] There is a man, nearly seventy years old, who was an assistant at a Falun Dafa Assistance Center. This elderly man studied the Fa, practiced the exercises diligently and was quite healthy and energetic in those days. Since July 20,1999, however, Falun Dafa has been slandered and persecuted. Under pressures from various sources, this veteran assistant quit practicing the precious Dafa. It is almost impossible for one to be able to obtain Dafa, even in a thousand years, and yet Dafa had given this person so many benefits and so much hope in life.
Three or four months after quitting, one day he went downstairs for some physical exercise. The moment he came down, he felt discomfort in the chest and had difficulty breathing. He then fell down and wanted to cry out for help, but was not able to utter a sound. Fortunately, this person's neighbors came and immediately took him to a hospital, where he was diagnosed as having experienced a heart attack. The medical staff recommended an examination that required advanced medical equipment. Each part of such an examination cost 54,000 Yuan RMB (54,000 Yuan is equivalent to about $6,500), so the two parts cost 108,000 Yuan. Such a large amount is unaffordable for a working-class family. The hospital insisted that without payment they could not perform the examination. Faced with this emergency, the family members had to borrow money from many sources. Eventually, they collected 54,000 Yuan, and decided, because of their financial situation, to just take one part of the examination. Adding the expense of a 28-day hospital stay, they paid 69,000 Yuan in total. One day, the old comrade happened upon a practitioner with whom he used to practice and said, "It really won't do to give up Dafa! I was so healthy before. But after I quit [Dafa], I almost lost my life. I owe so much money, and the retirement pension is so meager. I feel so regretful." At present, this elderly person's complexion is pale, his legs are swollen, and his spirits are low.
Falun Dafa is a great cultivation way that a person is fortunate to encounter in thousands of years. It is the cultivation path taught by our Teacher out of his compassion. Our predestined relationship with Falun Dafa is so precious. Once we have obtained it, how could we quit it so casually just because of some external interference? The more outrageous the deeds the vicious forces commit, the more crucial it is that we Dafa disciples deal with everything with righteous minds. We should not give the vicious forces any opportunities.
