On July 21, 2000, I came to Tiananmen Square and witnessed with my own eyes how policemen brutally treated Dafa practitioners in Tiananmen Square. I vowed to safeguard the Fa with fellow practitioners and to validate the mighty virtue of Dafa.

I went back to my rented home on that day, and made a red banner with big golden, eye-catching characters reading "Falun Dafa, Indestructible as Diamond, In the Universe Forever." Also, I made a banner with the words "Falun Rotates Forever, Buddha's Fa is Boundless," which I intended to wear on my body. That same night, I clarified the truth about Falun Gong to my landlord and neighbors, and I exposed the evil conduct of "The Human Rights Scoundrel" Jiang Zemin and his accomplices. I showed the big banner to them and told them "Tomorrow I will let this banner fly in Tiananmen Square." They were stunned upon hearing that and were very worried about me. I said, "Don't worry, my sole purpose of being here is to rectify Dafa [universal law and principle]. When the evil forces see my determination in using my life to rectify the Fa, it will scare the guts out of them. I will join the grand Fa-rectification, and then come home safely." I thought of Master's words, "If you are not afraid, the factor that would make you afraid will become non-existent."

On July 22, the day that Jiang Zemin's political gangsters defamed and persecuted Dafa, I came to Tiananmen Square with my big banner and my small banner. On that day, Tiananmen Square seemed more horrifying than usual. Parked right next to the square, there were military vehicles packed with soldiers and big buses intended to transport arrested practitioners. Five patrolling police lined up in a row, with about ten meters between each row. Police vehicles also dashed through the Square in a hurry.

After I saw the situation, I hopped on a bus with empty seats. As soon as the bus started to move, I quickly propped up the big banner on a bamboo stick and wore the small banner on myself. Once the bus entered the Square (I knew that no vehicle was allowed to stop in the Square), I stuck the big banner out of the bus window. The eye-catching banner flew with the wind through out the Square. Countless eyes were drawn to read the banner. The police became disorganized and started to frantically chase after the bus. After the bus passed through the Square and parked, I packed the banner in my bag with ease and stepped off the bus. Several policemen, who were quite out of breath, had caught up with the bus. They asked me: "What are you doing?"

I answered calmly, "I came to Beijing for Fa-rectification."

They questioned, "Where is your ID?"

I pulled out the banner from my bag and said to them, "This is my ID."

One policeman said, "This is a new trick I've never seen before. You must be the only one in the country."

Later they grabbed the banner from me. One policeman asked, "What is your name?"

I answered, "I study Dafa, so just call me Dafa Practitioner."

"Where are you from?"

"I am from Falun Gong." They could not get any answers they wanted, so they gave each other an eye signal and a plainclothes policeman walked towards me. Suddenly, he raised his fist to strike me. I turned my body and his fist landed hard on the police vehicle behind me. He shook his hands with pain. I immediately shouted out loudly, "Why do police beat people?" At that time, many tourists stopped to watch us. The plainclothes policeman would not dare to swing again. I told him, "You know how to beat people, I know that too but I won't do that. However, you cannot distinguish good from bad and kindness from evil. You have become the hatchetmen for bad people. Is this still the behavior of the people's police?" They couldn't answer me and they didn't know how to deal with me. At that time, more and more onlookers came to the site so they put me in a police vehicle. There were already several female practitioners in the vehicle. I was the only male practitioner.

In a few minutes, another police vehicle came and they told us to get into that vehicle. At the time, a thought came to my mind: "I am here to do Fa-rectification, not to be detained. I should not comply with the evil. I must go home since the fellow practitioners were waiting for me." Three policemen were guarding the vehicle door. The female practitioners got into the other vehicle. After I got out of the first vehicle, I turned and walked right past a policeman. I saw that policeman staring at me but he seemed to be frozen and could not make any sound. I quickly merged into the crowd and entered the Heaven Gate of Tiananmen Square. When I came out later on, the police vehicle was already gone.

After I returned to my rented home, I told my landlord and my neighbors the story of my Fa-rectification activity. They were all happy for me. I know every minute and every second that we have now are chances given by our compassionate Teacher to the disciples as well as other people. We should treasure such opportunities.
