On the evening of April 25, 2001, we encountered a young black man on our way home. When he saw our yellow Falun Gong attire, he came over and shook hands with us while trying to pronounce "Falun Dafa" from the print on our clothes. He told us that he was very interested in learning more about Dafa, (the great law and universal principle) and he also told us a very touching story.
He is a reporter from an African country. A newspaper in his country had published an article with negative comments about Falun Gong. After reading it, he questioned the trustworthiness of that article, since he knew that a small group of people in the Chinese government started the brutal persecution of people who had their own beliefs. Then a thought came into his mind: "I should go to Geneva during the meetings of the UN Human Rights Commission to learn more truth about Falun Dafa." So here he was.
He accidentally ran into some Falun Dafa practitioners, and the encounter made him believe that all Dafa practitioners are kindhearted people who are always willing to help others. The following is what happened.
One day, he fell down pretty hard on the sidewalk and injured his head. All the pedestrians walked by him. Nobody stopped or paid attention, except for two people wearing yellow shirts. They ran over to help him, asked if he was OK, and whether he needed to go to a hospital. He was extremely moved by their kindness. He noticed the words "Falun Dafa" on their shirts.
He talked with these two practitioners for a long time and learned more about Falun Dafa. The next day, he heard an introduction of Falun Dafa at a UN meeting, and saw the demonstration of the 5-sets of peaceful Falun Dafa exercises.
On this night, he recognized us as Dafa practitioners from our yellow attire.
We were very glad to meet him and we gave him some truth-clarifying materials. He told us he would take the materials and videotapes back to his country and try to show people there that the article published earlier in the newspaper was not true. We expressed our gratitude to him. We told him how Jiang Zemin and his followers had instructed the Chinese secret police and diplomatic officers to interfere and disrupt the overseas Dafa activities and Dafa practitioners. He was indignant after hearing that, and told us that he was deeply touched by the Falun Gong practitioners' determination in their faith. He said that if he saw any false stories about Falun Gong in the newspaper again in his country, he would clarify the truth by telling them his personal experiences and understanding of Falun Gong.
