[Minghui Net] The ever-increasing overseas efforts to clarify the truth about Falun Dafa through various activities have resulted in more and more people getting to know Dafa. This has infuriated Jiang Zemin, who has directed Chinese embassy officials on the West Coast of the United States to extend their long arms into American public institutions. Not too long ago, diplomats from the Chinese embassy in the San Francisco Bay area paid a visit to Berkeley and Stanford, two prestigious universities, where they forced Chinese Student Union members to sign a declaration affirming their support of Jiang Zemin's ludicrous crackdown on Falun Gong. These "diplomats" created controversy, spread absurd slander about Falun Gong, and inoculated students with the government's lies and propaganda. Chinese citizen-students studying abroad are now under tremendous pressure.
We wish to point out to all these students that Falun Gong is based on "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance," the Law of the Universe. As practitioners of Falun Gong, we cultivate our hearts, work hard to perfect our moral characters, and never involve ourselves in politics or political conspiracy. We must point out, however, that as of now, 195 benevolent and innocent Falun Gong practitioners have already been brutally tortured to death, at least 50,000 have been illegally thrown into jails, detention centers and forced labor camps, and more than 1,000 were sent to mental institutions. Falun Gong practitioners in China merely ask for recognition of their constitutional rights to a safe, normal environment for cultivation; yet, they have been and are still being inhumanly tortured. In spite of this outrageous mistreatment, they continue to make peaceful appeals to the government to clarify the truth about Falun Gong. Who are the virtuous ones, and who are the evil ones? Please think about it.
We have a kind word of advice for the embassy officials: the crackdown on Falun Gong is only Jiang Zemin's personal, ill-fated scheme, for which he alone is responsible. Not everyone in the central government supports him on this nor sanctions it. We hope you will make a clear distinction between right and wrong and won't jeopardize your eternal life just for the sake of your official position and a little material benefit. You were sent abroad as public servants of a great nation, China. Instead of spreading rumors and innuendos and stirring up conflicts, we believe that as diplomats and public servants, it is your duty to do good deeds for the overseas Chinese population. Remember that good and evil always get their own reward.
