[Minghui Net] Cai Lianqin, female, 27 years old, is a Dafa practitioner who lives at 10-2-3 Xiaohongshandongqu, Wuchang District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province. Before July 22, 1999, she and her widowed father led a simple but happy life. However, after July 22, 1999, their peaceful life was completely destroyed. Let us look at the suffering of Cai Lianqin in the two years from July 22, 1999 to the present.
In September 1999 after Jiang Zemin and his villains outlawed and suppressed Falun Dafa, to protect Falun Dafa, which had given her a second chance at life, Cai overcame many difficulties and went to Beijing to appeal. As a result, she was escorted back to Wuhan City on July 27. Subsequently she was then illegally placed under house arrest for 4 consecutive months in the guesthouses of the China Science Academy Wuhan Branch, and the Wuhan Railroad Substation. During these 4 months, the great compassion and forbearance she displayed as a Dafa practitioner moved many people. Just before the Chinese Spring Festival she was allowed to go home to temporarily reunite with her father.
On January 21, 2000, (the seventeenth day of the first month based on the Chinese Lunar Calendar; that is, shortly after the Spring Festival) Cai Lianqin was arrested again by the Wuchang District Police Substation and the Wuchang "610" office [an office established in many places by the Chinese government specifically for the prosecution of Falun Gong and its practitioners; the numbers stand for June 10th -- translator]. She was sent to the Qinglinghongxia "reform" class in Wuchang District for forced "reform" [a brainwashing technique]. In the class, Cai took the lead to continue to study Dafa and practice the exercises; therefore, she was often beaten and scolded. Between May 23 and June 23, because of her insistence on practicing Falun Gong, she was sent to the Wuhan City No. 1 Detention Center for one month of unlawful detention. After her term was over, she was sent back to the class. At that time, several people in the class went astray in their cultivation and the situation there became complicated. However, in this increasingly complicated situation, Cai became even clearer in her mind. She tried her best to help those who had gone astray in cultivation and had written the so-called "three letters." [repentance, guarantee, and criticizing letters for giving up practicing Falun Dafa -- translator] With her help, those people all declared that their previous statements renouncing Falun Gong were no longer valid, and together with Cai they all staged a hunger strike. They demanded their release from the detention center since they were innocent. The evil had no way to conquer their virtue. Finally on September 11, that is, one day before the Autumn Festival [Chinese family reunion holiday], the illegal "reform" class was dismissed. Cai was allowed to go home and look after her father. Previously, the "authorities" had swindled him out of 2500 Yuan [about US$300, average month wage in China is about $60] for the class "living" expenses. Cai did not know that her father made the payment.
On October 1, 2000, Cai again went to Beijing to appeal and was arrested in Tiananmen Square. Since she did not want to get others into trouble, she refused to give out her name and address. The Beijing police unlawfully detained her once more for one month. Later, personnel from the Wuhan police recognized her. After she was escorted back to Wuhan City on November 4, she was directly sent to the Wuhan City No. 1 Detention Center for one month of detention. After the detention was over on January 4, 2001, she was sent to the Hongxia "Reform" Class against her will and by force. In this class, she continued to study Dafa and practiced the exercises regularly. Consequently, she was sent back to the detention center for another month of detention. Later, she was sent back again to the illegal "class."
One February 20, 2001, she was sent to the Wuhan City Female Labor Camp for half a month. After she was transferred back to the illegal class on March 10, she kept studying Dafa and practicing the exercises. Because of this, she was again sent back to the Female Labor Camp for another half month. Then no one knew where she was until later in April when her father found out that she had been secretly sentenced to one year of labor re-education. Her father has not received any legal notification up to the present.
On the fifteenth day of each month, when those jailed in the Wuhan City Hewan Labor Camp are allowed to see their visiting family members, we can see a kind old man, her father, waiting silently for his daughter to show up. Since Cai refuses to write the "three letters" and cannot be "reformed," she is punished by not being allowed to see her visiting father. Even so, her old father still goes there and waits by the gate of the detention center every fifteenth day of the month, regardless of weather conditions. Toward his daughter the old man expresses no complaints, only his heart-felt blessing and understanding. He told us that he is proud of his daughter's compassion and integrity. He believes that his daughter will, in the near future, walk out of the evil labor camp with great dignity for upholding Falun Dafa.
