Support for the human rights of Falun Gong practitioners is increasing in the UK. Many local groups of Amnesty International have invited Falun Gong practitioners to speak at their meetings in the recent months. For example on 13th of March, the University of Nottingham group of the AI organised a seminar which was attended by about 30 people and a Falun Gong practitioner gave an illustrated presentation on the vicious persecution in China, the benevolence of Falun Gong, and rebuttal to the Jiang regime's smears. The audience were deeply saddened by the pictures of torture and suffering and offered many ideas and suggestions for helping the practitioners in China. The listeners asked detailed questions and took away all the copies of the petition letters for sending to the Chinese authorities. Some immediately expressed interest in learning Falun Gong and asked for the details of local classes. Many similar successful events have been held in other cities and Universities in the UK.

Recently, a senior official at the Amnesty International warmly received Professor Zhang Kunlun and Ms Zhang Cuiying and had detailed discussion with them about their sufferings in the hands of the Jiang regime's detention centres and labour camps. The official also listened to their account of the help of Canadian and Australian AI, governments and other organisations and individuals in securing their release. Professor Zhang and Ms Zhang also discussed these issues during a number of successful meetings with the media and senior government official. People at the meetings offered to help Falun Gong practitioners as well as expressed their shock over the human rights abuses and the stupidity of the persecution. Professor Zhang and Ms Zhang have through their account of personal experiences helped people in the UK to appreciate the severity of the wicked persecution by the Jiang regime, and in contrast the peacefulness of Falun Gong practitioners.
