[Minghui Net] [China] Resolute Resistance against Unlawful Acts by Wicked Oppressors One morning in April, a female practitioner was doing household chores at home when policemen from the county police station and the local police substation arrived by car. They claimed to want to find out some facts, and tricked her with accusations that she associated with other practitioners. They claimed that someone had made phone calls to her, and that she had shown up at a particular gathering. They ordered her to go with them. Her relatives and family members had been tricked in the past and taken away from home, and are now in labor camps. Thus this practitioner refused to go with them, citing that their claims were completely fabricated. The police then wanted to take her away by force, but she shouted out loudly, "Gang members are abducting people, kind-hearted people please come to rescue me!" Her shouting attracted neighbors and passers-by. During the struggle, more and more people gathered around her home. In the end, this 50-year-old female practitioner was lifted by four policemen and thrown into the car. People who witnessed this were scared and shocked. Along the way, two security guards tightened their fingers around her throat to prevent her from shouting. She almost died of suffocation. Upon arriving at the local police substation, she loudly shouted, "What I am practicing is Dafa (the Great Law) of the cosmos, and to persecute Dafa is sinful." She then pointed at the policemen's badges, telling them, "The people's police harm people instead of serving them, and what are you if not gang members? Evil deeds will meet with evil retribution," and "Don't waste your time, I won't be 'transformed' you'd have to beat me to death, and then make up the lie that I had committed suicide." She continued to expose their vicious acts. In the end, a policeman handcuffed her and left. Another policeman came, and unlocked the handcuffs, pretending to be nice, and asked her to sit down. She didn't. The policeman yelled several times and shouted. The practitioner smiled and still refused to sit down. The policeman left. People from the county police station saw her so strong-willed and decided to leave. In the afternoon, the police substation interrogated and took notes. Question: "Are you going to continue to practice?" Answer: "Yes." Question: "What do you think of Falun Dafa?" Answer: "This is the best practice, the Great Law of high virtue, which teaches people to become good." She again promoted Falun Dafa to them. As a matter of fact, since July 20, 1999, this practitioner has been detained many times, nonetheless clarifying the truth to others all along. She has been openly displaying Teacher's portrait at home, and she has on several occasions rectified the environment in the police substation. The policemen at the substation knew that they were acting unreasonably, and decided to let her go home. She asked to be sent back. Finally, they drove her home in a police car. The event turned into local news. The practitioner explained to others how police violated the law . Many witnesses, and even policemen came to ask what happened. She took these opportunities to promote Dafa, and it was quite effective. People all claimed, "What she did was right, what she said was good, and she is really brave." The truth was that the April 25^th date is approaching [on this date in 1999, tens of thousands Falun Gong practitioners peacefully went to an Appeal Office in Beijing], and the county police station was planning to send her to a labor camp and then arrest other practitioners to put them into "transformation classes". Due to her resistance, people who heard about this event are talking about it, and the bad people are thus unable to do whatever they want. The difficulty for other practitioners has thus been reduced. Other practitioners all resisted the "transformation classes", and, in the end, none of the classes were held. [Beijing] Large-Scale Arrests of Falun Dafa Practitioners in Beijing Police in Beijing have started large-scale arrests of Falun Dafa practitioners. The Haidian district government has ordered all street offices and police of corresponding sub-stations to forcefully kidnap practitioners from their homes and then make an effort to "transform" them. It has also been ordered that money be extorted from these kidnapped practitioners. We appeal to all people with righteous minds to condemn and stop these acts that brutally violate human rights. [China] My Experience of Suffering a Vicious Beating On the night of January 22, 2001, Deputy Chief Wu Jianguo led two other police officers from Xijiao police substation to illegally take me away. Wu then directed 5 or 6 police officers including Li Yong and Li Shuai to viciously torture me. They handcuffed my left hand to a heating pipe with my body on the other side of a table. I had to lay on the table with my face down, and both of my legs were tied onto the table. Deputy Chief Wu pulled my right hand, while Li Shuai repeatedly beat me as hard as he could with a police baton on my buttocks, waist, and upper legs. I almost lost consciousness. They then filled my mouth with a towel, which they called "gagging", and then hit me countless times on my buttocks, waist, upper legs, and arms. They then hit my face and punched my nose, eyes, and cheeks for 2 or 3 hours. I was then untied and put on the ground, and they squeezed dirty water from towels onto my face and into my mouth. Both my hands were later tied onto the handles of weight-lifting equipment. Director Lu didn't allow me to go to restroom, nor to eat or drink. After being handcuffed for 2 or 3 more hours, I was sent to the Second Watch House of Shijiazhuang. When they examined my injuries in the Second Watch House, everyone saw that my left eye and nose had turned purplish black, the corner of my mouth was bleeding, and it was also bleeding inside my mouth. Both my arms were covered with large areas of purplish black bruises. My whole waist, buttocks, and upper legs were covered with wounds. The front of my upper legs and lower abdomen had also turned black. When I arrived at the Second Watch House, I was short of breath, cramping all over my body, and blood even turned up in my urine. Up to today, my wrists are scarred as a result of cuts from the handcuffs. My palms and face are swollen. As an ordinary citizen, there is nothing wrong in practicing Falun Dafa, there is nothing wrong in believing in Falun Dafa, and there is nothing wrong in clarifying the truth to other people. Because he was short of money and equipment, he printed near 10,000 flyers clarifying the truth of Dafa by cutting stencils manually. He spread Teacher's new articles to those practitioners who had been caught or detained. He also spread the truth of Dafa to people in nearby and in remote villages. He was caught and illegally sentenced to one year of forced labor. After he was sentenced, his wife started to learn Falun Dafa. She said, "If my husband, who is such a kind person, was sentenced to forced labor, then I know who is bad and who is good. The biggest support I can give him is to learn Falun Dafa myself." [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Accounts of the Criminal Offense of Dalian Forced Labor Education Camp At 9:00 PM on March 22, 2001, prison guards in Dalian Forced Labor Education Camp forced all Falun Dafa practitioners detained in the camp to stand and bend over with the upper body parallel to the ground and both hands over their own heads. In front of each one of them, the prison guards placed a piece of paper with three sentences on it using swear words to denounce Teacher and Dafa. The prison guards forced the practitioners to sign the paper. If they did not sign, they would be forced to stand in the same position continuously. If anyone bent his legs or his hands were not put over his head, the prison guards carrying electric batons would beat and kick him. The practitioners stood for an entire night in the same position. Some of them became dizzy and vomited. The prison guards did not care what symptoms the practitioners had. They were forced to stand and bend over with the upper body parallel to the ground until they signed the paper and swore at Teacher and Dafa. If anyone could not endure and signed the paper, he was sent to the third floor. There he was not allowed to sleep until he swore 50-100 times at Dafa. Facing such a vicious persecution, most of the practitioners did not sign the paper. On March 23, those who did not sign were forced to stand again. The prison guards yelled, "If you do not sign, I will make you stand for a whole week." [Chongqing City, Sichun Province] Police Guards in Beipei Xishanping Forced Labor Camp Brutally Beat and Torture Falun Dafa Practitioners Police Guards in Beipei Xishanping Forced Labor Camp cruelly persecute Falun Dafa Practitioners. The camp does not release those practitioners who finish their terms of imprisonment. Police guards brutally torture those Dafa practitioners who do not obey the police by detaining them in special small cell or iron cage. They are handcuffed to door handles with their hands behind their backs for several days. They are forced to stand in 38-39 C (100.4-102.2 F) heat under the scorching sun for several hours, while they are shocked and beaten with electric batons and kicked with leather boots. Some of the practitioners were beaten to unconsciousness several times and some of them were hurt because the handcuffs cut into their flesh Recently, the police transferred the Dafa practitioners somewhere secretly. The practitioners' family members could not find them. They asked the police where they were, but the police would not tell them. It is an unusual situation compared to the past. All kind-hearted people please pay attention to this matter. The police may be covering up the murder of practitioners! [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Dr. Guo Shoujun, a Teacher at Northwestern Normal University Is Illegally Sentenced to Jail Falun Dafa practitioner, Dr. Guo Shoujun is a teacher at Northwestern Normal University. After he was illegally detained for 15 months, police decided to sentence him to a three-year jail term. However, because the conference of the United Nations Human Rights Commission was going on, the vicious police were afraid of the righteous forces domestically and internationally. So they have not declared the illegal sentence yet. Dr. Guo is accused of organizing the Lanzhou Falun Dafa Experience Exchange Conference in 1999. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Xiguoyuan Detention Center Forced Falun Dafa Practitioners to Work Burdensome hours Taking out Seeds From Melon Cores with their Teeth Xiguoyuan Detention Center of Lanzhou City has detained over 100 Falun Dafa practitioners. The center forces them to work everyday, opening melons with their teeth to take out the seeds from the cores. The melon seeds are local products and the cores obtained are used for food processing. The work seems easy but is very time-consuming and labor-intensive. Working like this for a long time results in broken teeth, swollen and festering lips and deformed fingers. In addition, the workload is quite heavy, 3-3.5 Chinese Jin [3.3-3.85 LB] per day per person. It takes 10-12 hours to complete such a task. Additionally, the detention center does not give the practitioners enough food. It is a routine that prison guards exploit them, beat them and swear at them. The vicious guards reap the profits from this labor-intensive work. Thus they have great personal motivation for continuing to exploit practitioners. How can they be expected to be just when they have such a strong motivation for continuing the injustice? How can legitimate businesses in other countries compete with such cheap labor in China? How can other countries possibly have an equitable balance of trade? We call on the Human Rights Organizations in the United Nations pay attention to the severe infringement of human rights in detention centers. [Beijing] Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners from Shijingshan District Falun Dafa practitioners, Qi Liping, Ma Rui, Sun Shujun, and Liu Zongyi, and others from Shijingshan District, Beijing were forcibly sent to "Transformation Class." Qi Liping was sent to Tuanhe Forced Labor Education Camp for not being transformed. Ma Rui was tricked into going to a police substation under the guise of having a talk and was captured and sent to the class. His current situation is unknown. Sun Shujun was sent to a guesthouse for forced "transformation" accompanied by two people from his working unit who provided 20,000 Yuan RMB to cover the cost. Liu Zongyi was sent to Tuanhe Forced Labor Education Camp under the fabricated allegation that he was involved in the Tiananmen self-immolation incident. Tang You is a practitioner from Beijing Military Command. In order to transform him, his working unit illegally detained him in a guard battalion of Beijing Military Command for about a month. [Beijing] Falun Dafa Practitioners, Don't Be Misled by a Special Agent Zhang Shuhui, a male, 37 years old, is a criminal policeman from Shijingshan Police Station, Beijing. He claimed to be a "favorite" of his upper level authorities. He disguised himself as a Falun Dafa practitioner and made up a story that he went to Tiananmen Appeal Office to appeal and later resigned under pressure from the police station. This seeming "firmness" in practice misled some Falun Dafa practitioners for a while as he sabotaged among practitioners under the disguise. He continuously reported information about the practitioners to police which led to arrests and sentencing of forced labor of innocent practitioners. Under the name of spreading Dafa materials and having discussions with Dafa practitioners, he has made many contacts in a large area including Beijing, subordinate districts and counties, Hebei Province and other places. He foments discord and fabricates lies that true Dafa practitioners are "reformed" and so forth to mislead Dafa practitioners. Nobody in Shijingshan district trusts him anymore. We hope that Dafa practitioners from other districts will be alert and will not be misled by the special agent. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Police of Tianhe District Arrest and Brutally Beat Falun Dafa Practitioners At 9:00 PM on April 11, 2001, police rushed into the third floor of No. 64 on Yindingtang Rear Street behind Tianhe District Armed Police Hospital under the guise of checking rooms. Five Falun Dafa practitioners were forcefully arrested, including Long Dehao, Ye Weixiong, Li Hechong, and A'xiang, and taken to Xinghua Police Substation, Tianhe District. The police interrogated and tortured the practitioners on that night. They beat up Ye Weixiong with an iron baton that was two inches in diameter and severely hurt his legs. The police also illegally took away a printing machine, a notebook computer, two printers, cash of over 25,000 Yuan RMB and four cellular phones. On the morning of April 12, the police who stayed on the third floor of No. 64 overnight arrested two more Falun Dafa practitioners who came there. [Li County, Hebei Province] Account of the Criminal Offenses of Jiang Zemin's Accomplices in Li County Since July 20, 1999, Jiang Zemin's accomplices in Li County have persecuted Falun Dafa practitioners with various means including a large fine, long-term illegal detainment, and sending them to a forced labor camp. The persecution is still escalating. In 1999, the local accomplices imposed fines on all Falun Dafa practitioners. For example, authorities in Nanzhuang Village imposed a fine of 500 Yuan [About three months income for an average rural worker] per person on over 100 Dafa practitioners. Anyone who practiced Falun Gong even for a few days was also included. If anyone did not pay the fine, he would be detained. At the beginning of the year 2000, over 10 Falun Dafa practitioners went to Beijing to appeal. They were illegally detained for 39 days and a fine imposed of 13,100 Yuan [about US $1,500 currency] each. The persecution in the year 2001 is escalating. Cheng Yonghua, a vice secretary of Li County Communist Party Committee yelled at a meeting, "Treat Falun Dafa practitioners in the same way as the four kinds of elements (landlords, rich peasants, counterrevolutionaries and bad elements) were treated in the past and make their families broken or dead!" In addition, it was stipulated that anyone going to Beijing to appeal would have a fine imposed on them of 20,000 Yuan [about $ 2,400 US currency)]. Later the heavy fine was actually imposed and a Dafa practitioner was not released from a detention center until paying a fine as high as 40,000 Yuan. As long as a Dafa practitioner is detained in a detention center he will be detained indefinitely or else pay a large fine and write a guarantee letter. A Dafa practitioner has been detained since May 2000, and several others have been detained for three months. Before the 2001 Spring Festival (February 24, 2001), the county committee held a meeting again and forced all those who had ever practiced Falun Gong, no matter whether they practiced it or not at that time, to pay a deposit of 1,000 to 2,000 Yuan. For those who were not able to pay, their parents or children were forced to pay. The thugs in Li County wished to send all Dafa practitioners to a forced labor camp. Recently, in March this year, 7 Dafa practitioners from Li County were sentenced to forced labor camp. At the public trial meeting, Dafa practitioners shouted together, "Falun Dafa is righteous Fa [law or principles]! Falun Dafa is innocent!" Police forcefully pulled the scarves that covered the practitioners' mouths and the ropes tied around their necks which resulted in cuts and bleeding. One practitioner fainted from suffocation due to the strapping. The thugs in Chengguan Town of Li County used another means to persecute Dafa practitioners. Before the Spring Festival, the thugs held an illegal "Transformation class" and required that each Dafa practitioner pay 50 Yuan for food every day. However, they provided no food at all, but the practitioners' family members delivered food instead for as long as over three months. Additionally, those so-called "reformed" people must do three things before being released. 1.) Those who had been to Beijing to appeal must pay 10,000-Yuan fine, and others must pay 5, 000-Yuan fine. 2.) Write guarantee letters, and 3.) Write 5 sentences cursing the Teacher. During the class, the thugs had 8 Dafa practitioners tied to a truck, put a sign around their necks and showed them before the public along a main street. [Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province] Ping Opera Troupe's Tragedy In cooperation with Jiang Zemin and his followers, the Youth Ping Opera Troupe produced a stage drama slandering Falun Dafa. They went on tour, performing in various locations. Recently, the Troupe along with the Colleges and Universities Working Committee of the Communist Party of Hebei Province jointly made these performances a "political mission" for the teachers and students of local colleges and universities. The "official document" ordering this action came from the authorities above, so the school leaders could not bring themselves to mention that they were short of funds. Wherever Falun Dafa is spread, people's hearts turn benevolent, morality improves and society is stabilized. Yet, the performance program reversed white and black, recklessly concocted stories, and damaged the image of the founder and practitioners of Falun Dafa. The audiences were disgusted. Recently, we have heard that this troupe is preparing a play, named Crying Out from the Soul, which was written by the 610 Office and the Culture Association of Hebei Province. They continue fooling the people, slandering Falun Dafa and using hypocritical lies to cover up the crimes Jiang Zemin's criminal clique has committed. We take this opportunity to offer a word of advice to the participants. Do not betray your conscience simply for a tiny personal interest or political objective. It's time to wake up! [Baoding, Hebei Province] A Lawless Policeman in Li County Detention Center of Baoding City, Hebei Province Receives Immediate Retribution Several policemen in Li County Detention Center frequently beat Falun Dafa practitioners. Policemen Yang Daxue, Li Guochang and others beat up a Falun Dafa practitioner, stripped him to the skin, pushed him outside on one of the coldest winter days, and left him on the cement floor to freeze. Policeman Li Guochang was even more wicked. After drinking alcohol, he went to the wards of female practitioners and insulted them with his extremely obscene behavior. Soon afterwards, Yang Daxue died unexpectedly. Li Guochang was suddenly paralyzed just before his son's wedding. He is currently living in a hospital in Beijing.
