[Minghui Net] On April 5th, at the Wilson Presidential Hotel in Geneva, the Cuba Human Rights Organization and Freedom House jointly held a conference for Cuba Human Rights Warrior and Union. They are seeking support from the United Nations Human Rights Commission.
Altogether, over 50 people participated in the press conference, including Cuban fugitives who had been sentenced to from 10 to 20 years of imprisonment by the Cuban Government due to their human rights activities, United Nations Human Rights Commissioners, and Women's Anti-Repression for Cuba. It is worth noting that two Falun Gong practitioners were also invited to the conference. The conference was broadcast live to Cuba through the UN Radio Station.
The conference showed one 10-minute video entitled "Please Watch, An Appeal From One Civilian." Cuban fugitives also gave testimonies of their experiences on stage. During the free discussion, Falun Gong practitioners introduced Falun Dafa and brought awareness to the cruel persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China. They also gave concrete evidence of those who were sentenced to jail or persecuted to death because of their faith. They appealed to all kindhearted people to stop the ongoing cruelty. This heartfelt appeal brought the audience to its feet and generated loud applause. They thanked the Falun Gong practitioners for their participation and introduction, and graciously invited the two practitioners to attend their banquet.
During the banquet, the organizers remarked upon the Millennium World Summit Meeting in New York [Sept.5, 2000], where Falun Gong practitioners appealed in front of the UN building. They said the serenity and peacefulness of the event impressed them very much and that they hoped to support Falun Gong in the future. During the conversation, Cuban fugitives, who face persecution by the Cuban government said, "Despite facing a cruel persecution, deep inside our hearts we are determined that our deeds are righteous. We are optimistic about the future because we have seen how insignificant the dictators are and know the strength of the human heart. During World War II, because of relatively primitive communication systems, people were unaware of the truth of the persecutions so they couldn't help the victims effectively. However, today is the information age, in which rapid reporting leaves people with no excuse for not supporting the righteous. The crux is a person's heart."
After the press conference, the participants took many pictures with Falun Gong practitioners and recorded this unforgettable event.
