[Fushun City, Liaoning Province] The Police Persecute Falun Dafa Practitioners Using Snakes and Ants

Dongyuan Police Substation of Qingyuan County's Public Security Bureau in Fushun City used the cruelest means to torture Falun Dafa practitioners. In September 2001, a Dafa practitioner from Qingyuan County, Tian Ge was put on a "tiger bench" [the knees are tightly tied to a small iron bench. Usually some hard objects are inserted underneath the practitioners' lower legs or ankles to make it harder for them to tolerate this abuse.] and fed a liquid made of pepper. What is even more cruel, the police placed a defanged poisonous snake on his body to intimidate him [the practitioner would not have known it had been defanged--ed.] and poured a bottle of ants into his jacket to bite him. This lasted for over twenty hours. Tian Ge said that if he had not experienced this himself, he would have never believed that the people's police could commit such cruel crimes against citizens who practice Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance.

[Yi County, Liaoning Province] Deputy Director of the Department of Justice, Ling Bingzhi Commits Crimes Against Dafa Practitioner

Sun Linghua, female, forty-eight years old, is a practitioner from the People's Court of Yi County, Liaoning Province. She was abducted by the Deputy Director of the Department of Justice, Ling Bingzhi. After she was released from the Masanjia Labor Camp, police arrested her again when she unfurled a banner in Tiananmen on December 1, 2001. On December 3^rd, she was sent back to Yi County Forced Labor Camp.

The Department of Justice monitored her case. On December 10, 2001, Ling Bingzhi went in person to Yi County. Under the guise of taking Sun Linghua to see a doctor, he took her away. All the people who had contact with her said she appeared healthy, both physically and mentally. After she was sent back to her family home, her husband saw her once and she still looked healthy.

On December 13, Sun's husband made a phone call to Ling at the Department of Justice. Ling said Sun did not seem right mentally, so he would take her for a medical examination. He told the family members to relax, but he refused to reveal her exact whereabouts. Presently Sun's family is deeply concerned. Dafa practitioners, please voice your concern for Sun and expose the persecution that she has suffered. May all kind-hearted people around the world show their concern.

[Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Forced Labor Camp Makes People in Custody Process Waste Products

Zhucheng City's Forced Labor Camp in Shandong Province not only cruelly persecutes Falun Dafa practitioners who have been unlawfully detained, but also forces all the people in detention to process a kind of waste rubber with nylon threads. They are forced to cook the waste rubber in a big wok, take out the nylon threads that had already lost their durability, and sell both the nylon threads and the rubber to a rubber factory in Shandong Province. When there is an inspection of the labor camp, they hide all evidence.

One day, a practitioner's parents went to visit their daughter. There they were told that they were not allowed to see their daughter as the camp was in a period of rigorous surveillance. They were also told that they would have to wait until the end of the year to see whether she had given up Falun Dafa. If she gave up Falun Dafa, they would be allowed the chance to visit her.

Dafa practitioners detained in Yinkou Forced Labor Camp are suffering from inhuman persecution. In November this year Yinkou Daily wrote a report about Team Leader Zheng Zhiqiang that said he never beat, abused or physically punished Dafa practitioners. Actually, the report is a web of lies. Zheng Zhiqiang not only personally beat Dafa practitioners, but also induced criminals in the labor camp to beat practitioners at will. Police use criminals to persecute Dafa practitioners to do these bad things in exchange for reducing their prison terms. This means criminals wantonly beat and curse practitioners; they even use police instruments such as electric batons and handcuffs to mistreat practitioners. Practitioners do not have the right to write letters or meet with their families. Criminals openly harm them and curse Dafa. When practitioner Jiang Shijun raised his right hand to send forth righteous thoughts, he was struck three times by criminals under the instigation of police; his face began to bleed instantly. Zhang Shupeng was also beaten up by several criminals. The other practitioners were dragged or pushed to the office of the team leader. Over ten practitioners were strictly monitored by criminals and were forced to stay with them from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. The room was filled with smoke, bad smells, and was dirty and messy. A urine bucket made the room smell even worse and it was too crowded when practitioners were eating.

In order to clarify the truth to people we were told to submit our letter to higher authorities of the judicial department. However, two months passed by and we heard that they did not submit the letter at all. In that intolerable situation, we began a group hunger strike, demanding the right to study and practice Dafa, and requesting unconditional release of all innocent Dafa practitioners. Police in the jail forced us down on the beds and savagely force-fed us. Zhai Heng, the director of the police, used this opportunity for vengeance against practitioner Shen Jun. He was very ruthless while doing the force-feeding. Since Sheen Jun studied Dafa and was apprehended by policeman Zhai, Zhai wanted to confiscate his Dafa book but Shen Jun would not give it up. Zhai ordered criminals to grab the book and dragged Shen Jun to the doorway and handcuffed him to an iron gate for an hour.

[Beijing] Xicheng Police Station And the "6-10 Terrorism Agency" Savagely Torture Dafa Practitioners

On November 20, at noon, 15 practitioners were having lunch in a restaurant. Suddenly, the police broke in and forcefully took them to the Dewai police station in the Xicheng Area. Their personal property was confiscated and examined repeatedly. The 15 practitioners firmly refused to cooperate with this illegal persecution, did not disclose their names and addresses, and did not reply during interrogation. By November 22, the police, by searching their belongings, identified all the practitioners except one, a pregnant female practitioner who had been released on November 21; the other 14 practitioners were sent to the Xicheng Police Station. During detention, 10 practitioners began a hunger and water strike to resist the persecution by the evil ones. The other practitioners did not cooperate during police interrogation either. Police from Xicheng Police Station worked together with thugs of the Xicheng "6-10 office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] to persecute practitioners. They utilized the "reformed" practitioners [former practitioners who gave in to the pressure and renounced Falun Dafa] to hold brainwashing classes in the detention center. Some practitioners were force-fed during the day and in the evening they were sent to a brainwashing class where they were then tortured until midnight. Some were even tortured until the next morning. Not only do the "reformed" practitioners try to force-feed their evil ideas to the genuine practitioners, they also physically torture and mistreat them. Dafa practitioners solidified their righteous minds and resisted the evil being perpetrated using their righteous thoughts to clear up the evil factors behind the police. They used their compassion to awaken righteous thoughts and to clarify the truth despite their extreme suffering.

There are still some Dafa practitioners who went to Tiananmen Square being held in the detention center. About twenty practitioners are still holding a hunger and water strike; it has been 20 days. Force-feeding caused bleeding in their stomachs and noses and forced infusion caused their arms to be covered with bruises.

We appeal to the international community to stop the criminal actions of the Jiang Zemin and Luo Gan terrorist regime and to help practitioners who are suffering evil persecution.

One evening, a Dafa disciple was captured by a vicious policeman while distributing materials about the truth of Falun Dafa. The policeman handcuffed him, took off his coat and shoes, tied him up with rope, took him to the township police substation to stay overnight, and planned to send him to the county detention center. The policeman thought to himself, "You are tied up so tightly, even though I am leaving the door open, you could never escape." Until midnight, the Dafa disciple thought to himself, "I must leave here tonight. How can the evil stop a Dafa disciple? My body can become larger or smaller." With these thoughts, his hands had already shaken off the handcuffs. He then untied the ropes layer by layer, and kicked the door open. He walked barefoot to another town and participated in truth-clarifying activities again.

1. They don't release Dafa disciples who have already finished their terms of detention.
2. They don't allow Dafa disciples, who have been tortured to the point of serious injury and have become extremely weak, to take a normal rest or be released on bail for medical treatment.
3. The guards in the labor camp arbitrarily take away Dafa practitioners' personal belongings.
4. They illegally overcharge the telephone fees for practitioners' talking with their family members on Sundays. Local telephone charges within the city should be a few yuan each time at most. However, the labor camp charges each practitioner as much as over ten yuan per call.
5. Director Ma (female) pretends to be kind, but instructs the policemen and prisoners in the labor camp to persecute Dafa practitioners on the sly.

[Linkou County, Heilongjiang Province] Thirty-Five Dafa Practitioners Are Unjustly Sent to Forced Labor Camp; Four Are Unjustly Sentenced to Over Three Years in Jail

Over eighty Falun Dafa practitioners are being persecuted by the evil forces in Linkou County simply because they learned and practice Falun Gong. Among them, thirty-five practitioners were illegally sent to forced labor camp while four were sentenced to over three years in jail because they acknowledged that they were Dafa practitioners.

Wang Yuwei, the Party secretary of the local Party committee instructed the thugs he was in charge of to arrest Dafa practitioners and told them, "Capture all of them, beat them up. There'll be no problem as long as they are not beaten to death. I don't believe that I cannot 'reform' them." Thus, over eighty practitioners were arrested and detained under his instructions.

[China] An Account of a Peasant Dafa Practitioner's Appeal in His Own Words

I am a peasant, and not well educated. I didn't know much about Falun Gong before, but I witnessed that people who had practiced Falun Gong became healthy, peaceful, and kind. In the past, the township officers had to collect the tax grain, [refers to agricultural tax paid in grain] one household after another. Even so, some peasants still didn't want to deliver the tax grain. However, after practicing Falun Gong, these peasants began to actively deliver the tax grain of the best quality. Neighbors didn't fight over trivial matters any longer, and conflicts that had gone on for years among neighbors were resolved properly. Conflicts between mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law, and among sisters-in-law disappeared. All people began to get along well with each other. Later on, I started to practice Falun Gong as well. I don't lose my temper so easily now and I don't bully others any more. Unfortunately, it wasn't long before the authorities wouldn't allow us to practice it any more. Many practitioners, including many families, were sent to jail. As long as someone informed them that you practiced Falun Gong, you were sent to jail right away. In one family, the mother-in-law, daughter-in-law, and daughter were all jailed, leaving a 90-year-old great grandma alone. Everyone had to pay 6,000 Yuan (equal to one year's income of an average worker in China) after their detention was over. Without enough money, you were never released from the jail. If the police couldn't find the practitioner, they detained his or her family member as a hostage instead. They wouldn't release the hostage unless the practitioner turned him or herself in.

I was puzzled at what I had seen. Why not allow people to practice such a good cultivation way? It teaches people to be inclined toward goodness and become good people. Probably, the authorities did not know the truth; therefore, I went to Beijing in December of 2000, intending to report to the government what was happening in our county. However, just as I got off the train, a plain-clothes policeman approached me. Upon hearing that I was practicing Falun Gong, he pushed me into a police car and sent me back to our local detention center. I, together with other practitioners, suffered all different types of torture. It was common that they punched or kicked us violently. Once, with a board attached to each of us and without our coats on, we were paraded through all the streets and walkways in the cold snowy wind. They also punished us by forcing us to kneel in the snow with only one sweater on. When we were frozen and our legs were totally numb they dragged us into the building. Some practitioners were tortured to the point of becoming mentally disordered. After a period of torture in one place, we were secretly sent to another place or another detention house. Even in the spring sowing season, they didn't let us go back. We are all peasants, living off farming, and we need to support our whole families, young and old. By keeping us in the detention center for so long, we were forced to miss the farming season. How could our families survive? What was happening to the authorities? Why have they scattered and ruined good peoples' families? We ask for an immediate end to the persecution of Falun Dafa disciples, and the unconditional release of all Dafa disciples being unlawfully detained.
