(Clearwisdom.net) On the eve of October 1, the Chinese National Day, vicious policemen illegally captured three practitioners whom I am familiar with, including Ms. A. I felt sad upon hearing this. Just a few days ago, I had gone to fetch something at Ms. A's place. She said, "I've been terribly busy these days." From her facial expression, I felt something was not quite right with her cultivation state. I reminded her to study the Fa more, and calm her heart to study. She said, "I've been studying everyday. I've never missed it." I said, "Have you been settling down and calming your heart to study? Have you been able to enlighten to new things every day?" She didn't understand. Later on Ms. A also realized that she had put all of her mind in wanting to do things, but she said that after she was done with this busy period of time, she would settle down to study more for a few days. I regret I had not reminded her more firmly at that moment.
From late July through early August, police raided in a row several sites that supplied materials. We sat down and looked inside, and we found that it was all because our minds were not in the Fa. From the surface, we had done splendidly, and others would also say, "You're all doing really well." As time passed, we put our minds on doing things. I experienced this myself. My heart was not calm when studying the Fa. Then my human sentiment came out. When there was conflict with other practitioners, I used a human heart to look at other people's flaws and formed an attachment to other people's attachments. If I had continued this way, evil could have taken advantage of these gaps and caused damage to Dafa work.
Teacher said, "When your mind isn't at peace, studying the Fa is not effective. You should study it with a peaceful mind" ("A Heavy Blow"). Settling down to study the Fa is not easy. A few months ago, a veteran practitioner told me, "When I study the Fa, I sit very still with my legs crossed in lotus position and finishing one lecture of Zhuan Falun is just like 10 minutes passed by. I always feel that the Fa that Teacher teaches is really too profound. There is so much that I cannot understand. It is really boundless." That was the time when my state of mind was not very good, and I felt embarrassed upon hearing these words. From that point on, I adjusted my state of mind and truly made Fa-study my top priority. When I read Zhuan Falun, I let go everything and get deep into the book to read it word by word, line by line, and I read it repeatedly. The effect is very good. When I shared with the veteran practitioner again, she said, "When you go deeper, you will be able to see the principles at different levels."
I dug deep into myself. I asked myself why I could put so much effort into studying the Fa before I started to do Dafa work, but I was not doing as well after I started to do Dafa work? There was a heart of selfishness hidden there, which was, "With such sacred jobs, the more the better. Teacher has clearly told us the Fa. I only need to do it accordingly." In addition, I also had the show-off mentality of comparing myself with others. I forgot Teacher's instruction, "It is not a job, but Cultivation Practice." In the article "Path," Teacher said, "But a person always has to enlighten on his own to what he should do in the face of tribulations." "The path a Dafa disciple takes is a glorious history, and this history has to be created by his own enlightening." Now I realized that in the process of doing one's Dafa work and validating the Fa, we have to righteously keep enlightening to higher and higher principles, keep getting rid of our human notions, use the Fa to guide us to validate the Fa, eliminate the evil, and clarify the truth. What truly upgrades our realm is the Fa.
I believe that if we feel restless and weary physically and mentally, we should stop and calmly study the Fa. We must combine our doing things every day with Fa study. Teacher said, "...the things that you do with a pure heart will be the best and most sacred" ("Further Understanding" from Essentials for Further Advancement).
