Around July 20 of this year, in order to guarantee nothing would occur on July 22 (the one-year anniversary of the crackdown on Falun Gong), the police in Guilin initiated a large-scale arrest, home search, and confiscation of property. The policemen arrested anyone with Dafa (the great law) books, Master Li's new scriptures, or true stories of Falun Gong. Some police stations simply arrested Falun Gong practitioners without any reason. The police deceived practitioners, to go to the police station; by saying it would be just for questioning or registration. Yet, no one ever got out of the police station after going there. Some practitioners were arrested when they were distributing the materials that tell the true stories about Falun Gong. So far, the number of Dafa practitioners who have been illegally detained is more than 30 including Lin Guifen and Dong Xiaoling.
In August, the practitioners that were detained were released. However, Lin Guifen was transferred from one detention center to another. In September, police arrested her again just a few days after she was released. She is now in a labor camp. Practitioner Meng Yuanhui was also arrested several times and was sentenced two years in a labor camp because he unfolded the Dafa banner in a park after he was released from detention. On August 23, practitioners Jiang Jing, Li Xiaoying , Zhang Yuanhai and Dong Xiaoling were arrested once again and sentenced to the labor camp after they were home for just a couple of days. They were deceived to go to the police station by the police's request for questioning.
Practitioner Jiang Jing worked at the Northern Railroad Station in Guilin and was an excellent freight transporter for the railroad office at Liuzhou City. She was a good employee and received many commendations in recent years. In order to stop her continuation of Dafa cultivation, she experienced pressure from various sources. In February of this year, she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and was detained in a detention center for one month. In April, her work unit notified her that she was fired. Even though she lost her job, the evil forces still did not let her go and they put tremendous pressure on her husband. In the end, she divorced her husband against her will. The loss of family did not sway her determination to continue her cultivation in Dafa. In June, she, Li Xiaoying , and several other practitioners bravely stepped forward and practiced the Falun Gong exercises outdoors for more than a month. Now the evil forces have deprived her of her freedom to do this.
Practitioner Zhang Yuanhai also went to Beijing twice to appeal for Falun Gong, and was also illegally detained several times. He was sent to a detention center because he was familiar with computers and was suspected of being able to browse the Minghui website. He is now in a labor camp. His wife delivered a baby one month ago, so she is still very weak and needs a lot of care and attention. He probably has not given his son a name yet and won't be able to hear the voice of his son. His responsibility and right of being a husband was deprived by the illegal detention.
Secret agents felt hateful as well as fearful about the material telling the truth of Falun Gong. In order to find the information sources and intent of Internet browsers, they searched people's homes and confiscated their property. The practitioners who understood computers all became their targets. Li Kexi is a boy who recently graduated and received a sentence of two years in a labor camp just because he had a personal computer at home. At midnight on August 13 (Ghost Festival), the police searched the homes of Huang Longjiang , Zhang Hongbin , Yao Wusheng , Cha Guiying (Mother of Jiang Jing) and three or four other practitioners' and confiscated their property. This was because they had visited practitioners detained in the First Detention Center that day and there was Falun Gong material clarifying the truth circulating in the area around that detention center. The police found Dafa books and information materials at Cha Guiying's house, so they sent her to the Second Detention Center again, while her little daughter was still detained in the First Detention Center. On the night of August 26, Zhang Hongbin was arrested and detained for 15 days while he was distributing the Falun Dafa materials.
Some practitioners went on a hunger strike in the detention center to protest the authority's illegal detention and denial of freedom of body and mind. One police officer said: "Leave them alone and simply carry them out if anyone cannot continue any more, and we will take responsibility for the consequences. " Another police officer also said: "We should execute Falun Gong practitioners by shooting, then we would not need so much effort in managing all of you." A practitioner kindly suggested to those police officers that they should not act in a way opposite to Dafa, and only evil demons would do that. The police officer replied without a second thought that he simply was at the opposite side of Dafa and was a demon and ghost. Another police officer said: What human rights do Falun Gong practitioners have? Some practitioners said to the police officers that "We are cultivating ourselves according to Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and we are not an evil religion." The police officer replied: "No one claimed that you are an evil religion. " A practitioner said: "We do not have any form of organization, neither are we against the government. " The police officer replied: "No one claimed that you are an illegal organization. " One practitioner asked: "Why did you arrest me?" The police officer replied: "The central authority ordered me to arrest all of you, I will do the arrests per their order, and I will arrest the bad people as well as the good people. " Is this "the best time for human rights in China"?
