At the beginning of July 2000, several Falun Dafa practitioners from Weicheng District of Weifang City went to Beijing to appeal, and tell the true benefits of cultivating Falun Dafa. They were detained in Fushan Town Nursing Home after coming back, and were inhumanely persecuted.
Ji Dongmei was brutally beaten unconscious several times. The thugs beat and tortured her cruelly and frenziedly until she passed out. Then they splashed cold water on her to wake her up and then continued beating her. When she fainted again, they splashed cold water on her again. She fainted several times under such inhumane persecution. These cruel thugs have no human decency or conscience. They even set out to hurt such a kind lady. Her hips were swollen like two big purple eggplants, and were almost torn to pieces. She dared not to sit at all. Her wounds may fester any time but there was no medical treatment available. We don't know about the wounds on the other part of her body yet. She is still detained after such a beating, without regard of the danger or her possible death. They even pressed her family and work place to pay 20,000 Yuan of cash [about $2,400, nearly four-year salary for an average employee].
The other practitioners were brutally beaten the same way. The older ones were over 50 years old. Some of them also fainted several times. After they fainted, they were splashed with cold water to wake them up and then beatenagain. They frenziedly tortured the practitioners again and again. When two severely injured female practitioners were sent to the detention center, the detention center dared not to accept them, and asked for them to be treated at the hospital first. The other four were detained in the detention center. Some still need to be carried in order to go to the restroom after having stayed in the detention center for three days. Their legs were badly swollen, full of bruises, and extremely painful.
The government not only persecutes the practitioners, but also their families. After two practitioners left to file an appeal, the government arrested their husbands to beat them. One of them fled and dares not to return home.
The Fushan local government's persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners and their families have shocked the practitioners in Weifang City and the kind-hearted people. We call on all kind-hearted people in the world to show solicitude for the practitioners who are persecuted, and to give us moral support.
