To genuinely cultivate towards higher levels means to eliminate the concept of selfishness as well as the concept of self. Only by abandoning layers and layers of postnatal concepts will the prenatal original nature of a life appear and one's true enlightened nature will awaken. Therefore, through studying the Fa and practicing true cultivation, one can improve one's realization and understanding. What is there to understand? The crux of the matter is to improve one's understanding of this Dafa of the universe, to understand what the Fa is; from within the Fa, to understand that Fa is of the utmost importance to the lives and substances in the universe. Be it now or in the future; regardless of when, where, or in which dimension, one shall cherish Dafa, protect Dafa and promote Dafa with a pure heart, harmonizing Dafa with a completely pure and selfless mind as well as with pure and selfless action. This is the summary of my current understanding of the ultimate meaning of life.
Therefore, during this rigorous test of Dafa and its cultivation practice, since Dafa is taught by our teacher, we should think and take actions from the perspective of our teacher and Dafa, and under the precondition of what would be beneficial to our teacher and Dafa. Any personal matter should not be treated as so important and any thought about the individual's present and future should be completely abandoned. Even though I have stepped forward already, I still need to search further in my mind for those impure flaws that are hard to detect and thus improve the purity of my mind. As a disciple of the teacher, I think this should be the requirement for myself, because I have gradually come to understand that my cultivation practice is not just for myself. The sacred Dafa of Zhen, Shan, Ren has created me. As an element of the Dafa, my thoughts, speech and action must be in harmony with Dafa.
The Dafa of the universe created everything in the universe, and so everything in the universe should also harmonize Dafa. Everything in the human society can be used to protect, promote and verify Dafa as long as it is beneficial to Dafa. A human being's longing and pursuing for future happiness should not become the motive and reason for our cultivation practice, and we should not be attached to them. Teacher said, "There is no precondition for practicing cultivation." Studying the Fa, cultivating the heart, and practicing the exercises, especially the true cultivation during the past year, have enabled me to have further understandings of the boundless meaning of this sentence. Therefore, Dafa is what it is. At any level of the universe, Dafa is incomparably sacred, magnificent, and indestructible like a diamond, including at the level of human society.
A practitioner told me that she still had some fear when she went to Tiananmen Square. But while teacher and Dafa are treated like this by people, how could she not step forward? It is true that fear is something to be eliminated through cultivation. Still, I was moved by her realizations and the fundamental reason for her stepping forward. We are fortunate to attain the Fa while Dafa is spread widely in this human world. Therefore, verifying Dafa and protecting Dafa in the human world is the unshirkable duty of every genuine disciple. This is my current understanding of what it means to cultivate towards higher levels.
