[China] Soldier Practitioners Got Detained in Mental Hospital
Zhao Xinli, male, the 89605 army of the Headquarter of Equipments, an in-service military officer, Lieutenant. He has been detained in the 261 Mental Hospital of Liberation Army since the end of February of 2000. According to news sources, he has already been tortured to disfiguration. The doctor would either beat up him or abuse him verbally. He was shocked with electrical probe and given injections that had made him become extremely weak. A guard even said things such as, "Now he can not run away!"
Li Qiuxia, female, 52 years old, a retired technician from the Headquarter Hospital of Navy, and an in-service military officer. On June 2, her working unit and her husband sent her to the 261 Mental Hospital. The doctor said that she would be treated as long as she continued to practice Falun Gong.
Wang Ning, female, 46 years old, an employee from the Headquarter hospital of Navy. On May 30, she was suddenly expelled from the Party membership and her post. She is now living on 300 Yuan of unemployment insurance.á
Note: After the April 25,ྟ group appeal at Zhongnanhai, Zhao Xinli has always claimed that he would continue to practice Falun Gong. He said, "I would practice cultivation for as long as I live." He was a key member of the practitioners in the whole army. He had practiced Falun Gong in this New Year's evening on the Tiananmen Square. After he got arrested, he escaped by jumping out of the sky. After a few weeks, he got arrested again in Beijing.
Practitioner Li Qiuxia and Wang Ning had also been forced to give up Falun Gong many times, However, they claimed that they could give up fame, interest, and even their lives, however, they would not change their determination in practicing cultivation of Falun Dafa. They two were under surveillance starting from August 2 in the name of "transformation class". They got released before New Year's Day. They were arrested again when practicing Falun Gong in the Street Park on February 20 (January 16 of lunar calendar). They two were sent to Jiangxi for detention. During that time, they had faced a great amount of pressure from the Navy officials. They did a lot of jobs in promoting Dafa to the people around them and changed a lot of people's views. On June 2, Li Qiuxia was sent to 261 Mental Hospital. Wang Ning was removed from her post on May 30 when she just went back to Beijing. Her working unit was afraid that she might not be able to bear the news and then asked a lot of people to monitor her in case that she might take extreme actions. However, Ms Wang appeared extremely clam and had always been smiling. The first word she said was, "I would like to thank the help from the supervisors and colleagues in the past one year." The colleagues of Ms Wang's were deeply touched by her deeds.

Around the May 1st Holiday, some male police had beaten up detained practitioners for practicing Falun Gong. The police would beat up whoever tried to continue to practice Falun Gong. The practitioners' bottoms were bruised and lacerated so that they could neither sit nor lie down. They could only lie face down.á
Qiao Yunxia, a practitioner from Xingtai, got the most beatings, because she always took the lead to practice Falun Gong and go on hunger strike. One time, because of practicing Falun Gong, she was so tightly tied up with a police rope that the rope cut into her flesh. She continued to practice Falun Gong after she was untied.á
Xu Xiuzhi, from Baoding, 33 years old, had successfully unfurled Falun Dafa banners 6 times at the Tiananmen Square. She was directly sent here for the forced-labor education.
Zhao Xueping tried to continue to practice Falun Gong and was tortured to lose her consciousness afterwards by the police. She was then carried into her cell by other practitioners. After she regained her consciousness, she said, "How come I am here?" She forgot how she got in. However, Later when she practiced Falun Gong, nobody came to bother her.
In order to prevent practitioners from practicing Falun Gong, the labor camp arranged for two criminals to monitor one practitioner, even when the practitioner went to the restroom. Some practitioners promoted Dafa to the criminals and moved them to such an extent: when practitioners practiced Falun Gong, the criminals who were responsible for monitoring them would also follow them to practice Falun Gong; when the practitioners went on hunger strike, the criminals would also abstain from food to follow the practitioners. Sometimes, the criminals would reminder the practitioners, "it is time to practice Falun Gong."á
Those guards who the criminals were so scared of appeared so pitiful in the eyes of practitioners. One time, practitioners went to talk to the officials of the labor camp who were responsible for "educating" them, "We dare to appeal to the government to tell the truth. Do you dare? You could only deceive your supervisors and delude your subordinates. We behave ourselves nobly and openly. It is you who stick to a wrong course. If you continue to be like this, you will be genuinely eliminated." The officials had nothing to say but went away.
Now the practitioners' deeds have been changing the environment gradually. Since now that the labor camp adopts the 8-hour working a day, practitioners could take a rest during the weekends. They would not be bothered when learning the books of Falun Dafa. They no longer worked endlessly like before. Many practitioners wrote letters of appeal to request release so that they could continue defending Dafa outside.

Moreover, some practitioners in Beijing found out that some people has been lurking among practitioners to do damages by taking advantage of the practitioners' mentality for defending Dafa.
