IV. Promoting Falun Dafa in Front of the Chinese Embassy on July 21
At about 8:00AM on July 21, 2000, practitioners from Taiwan and the US gathered together on the lawn in front of the Chinese Embassy. Some practitioners read Falun Dafa books while others worked together and placed the banners and posters in a beautiful and orderly manner.
The memorable activities started at about 9:30AM. First, Teacher's most recent scripture (which was published the day before) was read three times. After a quick translation, the English version was read twice. The practitioners were very happy and inspired. Afterwards, some articles from Minghui Net were also read out.
The practitioners began to practice the exercises at about 10:00 AM in a peaceful atmosphere. Some practitioners went to Capitol Hill and delivered the most recent Falun Dafa introduction materials, as well as those revealing the insane persecution of the Chinese government towards Falun Dafa practitioners. Meanwhile, some other practitioners went to many tourists places to hand out similar materials.
After the exercises, the practitioners from many places like Taiwan, Ohio, Canada, and Atlanta freely shared their experiences. They talked with each other about how they had promoted Falun Dafa, everyone learned a lot from it.
V. Grand Occasion of the First Washington DC Conference
On July 22nd 2000, a solemn Falun Dafa experience sharing conference was held at Ronald Reagan International Trade Center in Washington D.C.. About 1,100 practitioners from about 10 countries and regions, such as Canada, Singapore, Australia, Japan, France, Taiwan, America, attended the meeting. It was estimated that 800 practitioners would come to attend. Knowing that there were several hundred more practitioners than expected, the director of the Center kindly and friendly provided great help in a timely manner. He moved away the movable wall separating the ballroom and the lobby, so more chairs can fit in the room. The Conference was successfully held.
In this conference, several dozens of papers were received from the Washington DC area, as well as other countries and regions. About 10 articles were carefully selected and presented at the conference. Among them, there were experiences written by a US practitioner who return to China to appeal, and a practitioner who just came to America from Mainland China. From a 70-year-old practitioner to a 6-year-old disciple, practitioners all shared their unique cultivation experiences. One of the papers from a practitioner who has achieved a breakthrough in scientifically verifying Dafa to certain extent gave us some new ideas.
After the practitioners' presentations, the video of the beginning part of Master's lecture at New York conference last year was played. Reviewing our Master's lecture one year later, we realize the greatness and compassion of our Master, and that he is encouraging us to make further advancement.
In the evening, free-form discussion and experience sharing were held until 11:00PM.
