In July of 1999, a few power-holders of the Chinese government openly abused Chinas constitutions and laws, dishonored their promise of the international human rights treaties, and began to crackdown Falun Dafa practitioners in China. Their action pushed over hundreds of millions of practitioners who have been striving to be better people to the opposite side of the government.
During the past year, the suppression only grew worse and more violent. People from normal citizens to party members and university professors, from elementary school students to instructors, from young babies to the elderly, from pregnant women to young ladies, every profession and level of society were affected by the crackdown.
From the capturing, beating, seizing of properties and fining in the beginning, to later taking prisoners at will and using different kinds of abuse, all kinds of methods were used. According to media reports, over 30 practitioners have been tortured to death. Under the extreme information control by the government, one can imagine that there must be more than 30 who died in such cruel ways. Many families were destroyed; many kind people lost their jobs, and many innocent citizens were held in custody and sent to labor camps
To legalize the suppression, the Chinese government openly abused their own countrys constitutions and laws, going against the international human rights treaties to pass the so-called "law" which labels Falun Gong to be an "evil cult".
In order to confuse the people, the Chinese government has used all kinds of dirty and low tricks. They called abusing to death a "heart attack", labeled those with a mental problem as someone who practiced Falun Gong, reversed what is black to white, and also said that those healed by practicing Falun Gong were "crippled by Falun Gong" among others.
In order to increase the punishments, they even label Falun Gong as "anti-human". During the whole year of the suppression, Falun Dafa practitioners faced extreme physical torture and mental abuse with no hatred or blame. They showed what is the nature of human compassion and what is benevolence and forbearance of a practitioner. However, it has been the Chinese government that has altered the facts, using the wrong methods, abusing the nature of human compassion, and increasing the crimes and the lies. They made the innocent people homeless. They said that Falun Dafa is anti-government, however, it was the few people inside the government trying to blame all the existing social problems on Falun Dafa by trying to push hundreds of millions of good people to a position against the government. By saying that Falun Dafa is anti-science, in fact, it was the government that refused to recognize the sickness being healed by Falun Dafa and the upgrading of morality through Falun Dafa. They persecuted those who told the truth, fooled people with their extreme power, and stained the dignity of science.
The people are awakening, the heavens will not allow this, and the progress of history is irreversible.
Falun Dafa is now spreading throughout the world. Everywhere it reaches, people' morality has been upgraded. And it has made people begin to seek after compassion. However, the Chinese government framed and labeled such a popular cultivation that benefits nations and society and teaches others to be a good person as an "evil cult". But the global society has already been focusing on, and has become concerned about this matter.
Nevertheless, facts are facts. Dictatorship will never win over truth. Numerous citizens have healed their life-long sickness after practicing Falun Dafa, thus saving the country a lot of medical bills. The practitioners are not after fame or money; they have high moral standards. When facing matters that affect their interests like lay-offs or salary raises, they do not compete with others and often let others have their ways. They have become the strongest force as the protectors of the stability of society. The governmental agencies such as the police departments and the sports departments have been investigating Falun Dafa in different ways, but their results were always the same: Falun Dafa practitioners are innocent people! All these facts, including the fact that throughout the year, the practitioners faced violent suppressions with great benevolence and great forbearance, were already known internationally, and more and more kind people, society groups and governments are seriously concerned with this matter.
Today, we the practitioners throughout North America sincerely hope that the Chinese Embassies will send our messages to the Chinese government. We hope that they will be responsible for the country, the citizens, as well as themselves. We hope that they will no longer go against the will of the people. Spreading ignorance and using abusive suppression is not the way to lead a country.
We, like always, hope that the leaders of the Chinese government will judiciously recognize the huge mistake they have made on the matter regarding Falun Gong, immediately take away their arrest warrant of Mr. Li Hongzhi, cancel all the false accusations against Falun Dafa, release all the imprisoned practitioners, and resolve this matter through a peaceful dialogue.
