An Australian's Letter to Her Prime Minister

Dear Honorable Mr. Carr,

My name is Z.á I'm fifty-five years old and live in Sydney.á I came from China in 1989 and I'm an Australian Citizen now.á I am a practitioner of Falun Dafa (Falun Gong).á I am in tears while I am writing this letter.á First, I would like to say thank you to the Australian government for their concern about Australian Falun Gong practitioners who have been detained in China.

I have been practicing Falun Gong for about 3 years.á Falun Gong not only saved my life, but also revealed to me the purpose of life and the ultimate truth of the universe -Truth, Compassion and Forbearance.á I had a very rare disease three years ago, Progressive Systemic Sclerosis.á The specialist thought it was an extremely rare and serious disease.á It was very hard for me to manage my daily life.á Ultimately, I had to give up my job as a technician.á The best doctors in the world and the most expensive medicine (including a very expensive pill calledá Losec') could not cure this disease.á I needed to see doctors constantly and some times had to stay in the hospital.á But my health continued to deteriorate and my life was in danger.á

Three years ago I was very lucky to receive Master Li Hongzhi's booká Zhuan Falun and started to practice Falun Gong.á My body became very healthy instantly, my mind very relaxed and I no longer needed to take any medicine.á Now, I have my own family business and no longer need to collect Disability' from the government.á So I am saving a lot of money for the government each year.á All of these benefits are directly attributable to Falun Gong. (Attached is a letter from my previous doctor)

My son is also a Falun Gong practitioner.á He completed his university studies here, in Australia.á Since practicing Falun Gong, he has become responsible and knows how to take care of others.á He has become a good youth with a high moral standard.á All of my family has received so many benefits from Falun Gong and we feel so lucky to practice it from bottom of our hearts.á We cherish Falun Gong as much as our lives.

But on 20th of July last year, the Chinese government banned Falun Gong and branded it an illegal organization.á In October, it was branded a Cult.á A few people in the Chinese government have used their power to persecute Chinese Falun Gong practitioners cruelly and wholly.á More than 20 Falun Gong practitioners in China were tortured to death as revealed in the recent reports.á Some were even sent to mental hospitals. This is one of the most brutal and unfairá occurences in the world.ááá

For myself, Falun Gong saved my life.á Because of this, I chose to go back to China to relate my own experience and the truth about Falun Gong to the Chinese Government.á I hoped they would reevaluate the Falun Gong crisis and restore it to its proper position.á Since last November, I have gone back to China four times.á I was deported three times and detained for forty-five days last time.á In the detention center, I went on a hunger strike for 23 days until I was released.á I requested the Chinese police to return our Falun Gong books and let the Chinese Government understand the reason why I went back to China.á My son has gone back to China for the same purpose three times since last December, as well.á He was arrested and detained three times.

We gave up such a comfortable and stable living environment in Australia, took the risk of detention and even life, and went back to China because we really know how great this great law of the universe - Falun Gong is.á Just as Master Li Hongzhi said: "I have always made it clear that our Falun Gong does not get involved in politics.á A great number of Chinese people practice Falun Gong simply because they want to improve their health and to become good people with a high level of morality. Any government, nation, or people would have everything to gain from this and nothing to lose."á We went back to China and hope the Chinese government can recognize Falun Gong and our teacher are innocent, stop persecuting Falun Gong and resolve the problem through peaceful dialogue.á Falun Gong is an orthodox exercise.á We do not want to see such a good "cultivation practice" persecuted and slandered.á This is the reason why many Australian Falun Gong practitioners have gone back to China.á If (Mr. Prime Minister) you can spend a little time in your busy schedule to read the book China Falun Gong' and Zhuan Falun, maybe you will understand more about our motivation.

There are currently two Australian Citizens, Ms. X and Ms. Y, still in China.á Ms. X is being detained in the same detention center as I was.á She has been there over three months and has been on a hunger strike for over two months.á I am very worried about her situation.á I hope the Australian government will urge the Chinese government to release them as soon as possible.á Australia is a sovereign democratic state that cherishes freedom and has always been very supportive of human rights.á As Australian Citizens, they need your support and protection at this time.á They are all for Falun Gong, the most profound truth., They risked their lives and went back to China.á Like all good people with a sense of justice, when the truth is known, we should show our support and respect for their behavior.

(Honorable Prime Minister, you are the representative of the Australian people,) (Honorable Foreign Minister,) I kindly ask for your help to truly show concern about them.á They are looking forward to receiving help from you and your government.á
