[Beijing] Practitioners Went to Labor Camp to Request the Release of Detained Practitioners
On June 12, some practitioners from Beijing went to the Women Labor Camp at Tiantanghe to request the unconditional release of detained practitioners, however, some were then became detained in the Daxing Detention Center. According to the practitioners who came back from the Labor Camp, at least forty practitioners were detained. They came from Districts of Chaoyang, Haiding, Changping and Fengtai etc, and some practitioners who are from higher education schools went under the custody fourteenth section of police department. The attitude of police has changed a lot. We thought it was because of the sacrifices of numerous practitioners who have stood out to defend Dafa.
In addition, according to news sources, some practitioners from Dongcheng District also went to the Dongcheng Detention Center to request for the release of detained practitioners unconditionally.
[Daqing] Latest Report of Persecution in Daqing (City)
Many practitioners are being detained in the Daqing (City) Detention Center for having gone to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. Most of them were intercepted and detained before they could even arrive at the Appealing Office. Some working units assigned people to monitor practitioners. Some practitioners had their phone bugged. Some practitioners had their ID cards confiscated at the police station. Some practitioners had to report to the working units or police station even during the weekends and holidays. Some practitioners were forced to leave work to watch some related programs or to attend conference that were disclosing and criticizing Falun Gong.
Some practitioners were forced to attend the re-educational classes. Each was required to pay 700 Yuan for a three-day class. Some classes lasted for 9 days. During the class, each practitioner was required to have an attendant. The practitioners had to pay the fee for both the attendant and the officials who did the "re-education". One day would cost 210 Yuan. Practitioners who had gone to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong were imposed a fine of over 1,000 Yuan. Thanks to the stiff fines from practitioners, the working staff in the detention could get a monthly bonus of over 2,000 Yuan sometimes.
Agencies threatened some practitioners that they would be sent to mental hospital if they would not give up Falun Gong. Some practitioners got detained for having a meal together with other practitioners.
In the police stations and detention centers, many practitioners had suffered inhumane mistreatments such as being poured with cold water in winter after being stripped off, being forced to run with handcuffs and shackles and having ribs broken from beatings, etc.
Among the detained practitioners, some of them have been detained for 15 days, one month, three months, or seven months...
[Zhejiang Province] Latest Report from the Shiliping Labor Camp in Zhejiang Province
We are practitioners from Hanzhou, Huzhou, Lishui, Shaoxing, Taizhou and Jinhua etc. We are being detained here in the Shiliping Labor Camp to perform forced-labor. We are from all walks of life. For a common goal, we have walked together. Now 19 of us are being detained here.
Other detainees came here because of drug addiction. However, Falun Dafa detainees have done nothing harmful to others. The reason for us being here is because we tried to tell the truth about Falun Gong to the central government either by writing a letter or going for an appeal, or just because we are determined to stay with our belief. For example, a practitioner from Lishui, Fan Zhongzhuang, was detained because he had written to the central government to report the truth of Falun Gong many times, and meanwhile, he was intercepted on his way to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong.
Being detained together with those drug addicts, we have realized that without disciplines a person could fall to such an extent. Meanwhile, we have realized that we should discipline ourselves.
Here in the Labor Camp, some practitioners were put on a label reading "strictest", which meant that the guards should "help" us in the strictest way. We were under severe surveillance. We could not talk to each other, nor practice Falun Gong exercises. We had been beaten up, been denied of sleep, forced to stand for a dozen of hours, and been threatened etc because we continued to practice faun Gong. However, we treated all these tribulations as tests for us. We took this special environment in the Labor Camp as a good opportunity to improve our Xinxing. We, as practitioners, no matter how others treated us, have behaved well by working diligently (working twelve-hour shifts) and treating others kindly. A fellow practitioner from Huzhou, Jiang Xiaoqiu, continued to practice Falun Gong and tell the people around him that Falun Dafa is righteous and Falun Dafa practitioners are good people even during hunger strikes. He gained the understanding and support of many people.
We have appealed to the central government to report the truth of Falun Gong, just out of our trust. However, our rewards are fines, handcuffs, long-term detention and imprisonments etc.
