The Great Way Is Formless and Let's Promulgate The Great Law Widely

Recently I read the article entitled "Tell the Truth to the People" and the proposal of "World Falun Dafa Day" by practitioners in North America and Europe on the Internet and noticed the warm echoes to the proposal by practitioners all over the world. I felt I had a breakthrough in my thinking in terms of promoting Falun Dafa. Through these actions that seemingly only brought small changes, we can see clearly how our practitioners are cultivating and improving themselves solidly through studying Falun Dafa. This new breakthrough of ideology that was brought about through the practitioners' continuously furthering their advancement in this special and difficult time might result in a more profound change that we ever thought of.

The practitioners' cultivating experience through promoting and defending Falun Dafa as well as the practitioners' heartfelt actions in the past year, whether in China or in any other country or territory, have left everlasting memories on the earth and in the heavens. On April 25, 1999, ten thousand practitioners peacefully petitioned in front of the Zhongnanhai compound. Streams of practitioners have been restlessly on the move to petition and appeal to the authorities at the expense of being punished physically and financially. Countless petition letters have been sent to the leaders of China. Practitioners firmly stand with their faith no matter how difficult the situation has been. The practitioners who were thrown into jails, detention centers and labor camps have shown the great virtue of Falun Dafa to the world with their own blood and lives. The practitioners all over the world took pain to reveal the truths and the cruelty of the Chinese government's crackdown on Falun Gong to their countries and governments. The practitioners reported to the United Nations Human Rights Organizations on China's degradation in its human rights record and strove to call for international support and help. The practitioners treasure Falun Dafa more than their own lives.

Nevertheless, as we are telling the Chinese government and its leaders about the truth of Falun Dafa and seeking help from governments and international human rights groups around the world, we somehow overlooked the grass-root actions such as promoting and demonstrating Falun Dafa to the ordinary people in our society. I feel the saying the Great Way is formless and boundless also has wider and deeper meanings in promoting and defending Falun Dafa.

Looking into humankind itself, no matter in which country you live, to which nationality you belong and how civilized you culture is, human beings as a whole share the same Sun and everyone has to sustain birth, age, illness and death in this special space, a maze. One cannot even control the destiny of his life. No matter what you are - an emperor, a monarch, a president, a worker, a farmer, a student, or a soldier, or no matter who you are - a millionaire living in luxury and debauchery or a person living in poverty, everyone is infinitesimal dust on this Earth that itself is also infinitesimal in the boundless Universe that is governed by the Buddha's Fa [law] - the characteristic of the Universe. Nobody can be excluded and nobody can escape because "the entirety of humanity are at one level of planes". Yet the Fa penetrates all the levels of the whole Universe.

The advent of Falun Falun reveals for the first time the essence of life and the truth of the Universe to human beings. It discloses for human beings the mind law and the ethics or morality that a human ought to follow and provides a ladder for sublimating toward a lofty realm and for returning to one's original true self. I remember that in the "Essentials for Further Advancement" Teacher says that "My teaching Falun Dafa widely is to offer salvation to all". He also says that letting people know the Fa so as to give them a chance to lay their own future positions. Falun Dafa is taught to all sentient beings in the Universe. As a disciple, "Assisting Teacher in the world" is not only one's obligation but also within one's connotation of cultivation. We have the obligation to start from our own surroundings to let people around us know Falun Dafa first, then extend to others. Meanwhile in the process of spreading and protecting the Fa, our own cultivation level is also ascending.

Facing the escalation of the crackdown in China and the corresponding difficult environment, Falun Dafa practitioners stepped forward unhesitatingly taking on the extraordinary harsh and ferocious persecution. Imprisonment, custody and brutal torture all have long lost their effects on these devoted and steadfast people. They elucidate and embody the Buddha's Fa to the earthlings with their virtuous human behavior and even the sacrifice of their precious lives; thus their lives have attained genuine sublimation and eternity from the purgatory on earth. They are the Gods safeguarding the Fa at the level of human beings in the Great Fa of the Universe. As for those willful sadists, no matter who they are -- people in power, police, prison guards, whoever mistreat and insult these Gods for safeguarding the Fa in the human society will bring themselves total extinction for their own souls. They will become utterly worthless flesh, and eventually serve their own rights.

Under the present difficult conditions in China, one that steps forward to clarify the truth and to spread the greatness of Falun Dafa would be suppressed and tortured. However, hundreds of thousands of Chinese practitioners have already come out. More and more Falun Dafa practitioners are following. They are the mainstays under such adverse circumstances. What they embodied are the realms and the powers of the Gods for safeguarding the Fa. However, how can the Gods safeguarding the Fa in human society condone the unscrupulous arrests and persecution by the degenerated human beings? Our intrepidity does not mean that we are open to their willful arrests. Being arrested and being imprisoned are not our aim in protecting the Fa. Letting all people in the world know the truth, letting human hearts look forward to Falun Dafa, letting Falun Dafa spread more widely in the world, all of these are our purposes of protection of the Fa.

Therefore, clarifying the truths to the public and spreading the Fa become more important, more arduous and urgent at the present difficult time in China. Under the hysterical circumstances of deliberately misrepresenting things and confusing right and wrong, defaming and slandering Teacher and Falun Dafa through the state-run media, people are deceived or forced to follow the evil. Disgusted by the evil and fierce bombardment, some have become indifferent while some others behaved like ostriches [digging heads into the sand to pretend not knowing it]. Our spreading and protecting of the Fa needs not only great courage but also great wisdom. Since the great way is formless, we can nimbly take whatever as the proper time and location, choose diversified styles and methods, and work on not only the government organizations and state leaders but also on the ordinary people at all levels in whole China.
