[Chengdu] Practitioner Ms. Zhang Qiong-hua and other 11 practitioners from Hua-yang Town of Shuang-liu County of Chengdu City were each given 15 days of administrative detention after they were escorted back from Beijing where they went to appeal for Falun Gong.

Recently, they have been required to attend the so-called "transformation education class". They were required to write a pledge and pay a deposit of 3,000 Yuan in order to be freed.

[Guangzhou] Practitioner Wang Zhong-cheng, the director of the Office of the Bureau of Culture of Fang-cun District of Guang-zhou City, went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in last October and this Chinese New Year. But he was not received by any governmental officials when he attempted to file the appeal. Instead, he was beaten up by many police officers from the Guangzhou Liaison Office and the Department of Public Security in Beijing when he attempted to appeal during the Chinese New Year.

After practitioner Wang was escorted back to Guangzhou City, he was first detained in the detention center of the police department of Fang-cun District for more than 20 days. Afterwards, he was secretly sent to the Chi-ni Labor Camp of Guangzhou City for 2 years of forced-labor "education" without any trial. He has to work 15 hours a day.

Falun Gong practitioners detained in this labor camp could be visited by their family members only once a month. When their family members visited them, they would be monitored by one or two police officers. By contrast, the convicted criminals such as convicted thieves, robbers, gamblers and drug-abusers etc could be visited once to twice a week.

[Beijing] According to sources, the police department of Beijing will re-start to ransack the homes of Falun Dafa practitioners to confiscate their books on April 12.

[Hubei] Practitioners Forced-fed with Alcohol

About 100 practitioners are being detained in the detention center of Ma-cheng city of Hubei Province. The police officers there not only tortured practitioners but also force-fed the practitioners on hunger strike with alcohol.

3 practitioners from Hong-an County were sent to labor camp. They are Wu Cheng-bo, from the County's Bureau of Finance, who was given 2 years of forced-labor "education" in November of 1999, Yang Cai-ying, from the Second Middle School of the County, who was given 2 and a half years of forced labor in November of 1999, and Zhang Zhi-hua, who was sentenced with one year of forced-labor "education" in February of 2000.

Many practitioners went to the Military Museum where a grand picture-show titled "promoting the science and fighting against the superstition" was held recently. A large number of the pictures in the show were meant to slander at Falun Gong.

Some practitioners signed their names in the visitors' book. Some practitioners tried to report the truth of Falun Gong to the government officials by writing on the book. Some practitioners practiced Falun Gong in front of the Museum. Some practitioners got arrested for doing that.

[Henan Province] Human Rights Violations against Falun Gong Practitioners in Meng-zhou City

Officer Li Jian-zhong, the deputy secretary of the Commission of Politics and Law of Meng-zhou City, was appointed the leader of the "group for exposing and attacking Falun Gong". He held a large conference on "exposing and attacking Falun Gong" in each village of the Mengzhou City. All Falun Gong practitioners were required to write some materials to expose and attack Falun Gong; meanwhile, they were required to pledge that they would cut any connections with Falun Gong. Otherwise, they would be given criminal detention.

Ms. Geng Ju-ying, from the Cheng-bo Village of Meng-zhou City, went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong while carrying her baby daughter of 7~8 months old in last December. Later, she got arrested and escorted back to her hometown. Since then, she and her young daughter have been detained in the detention center of Meng-zhou City.

Ms. Yang Zhi-yue was a practitioner from the Shang-dao-gou Village of Cheng-guan Town of Meng-zhou City. She went to Beijing to appeal on October 11 of 1999 and got arrested on the Tiananmen Square. Later, she was escorted back to her hometown for criminal detention. Since then, she has been detained in the detention center of Meng-zhou City. She was on hunger strike for 11 days. As a result, she was force-fed, detained in an isolated cell, and back-handcuffed (with one hand coming down from the shoulder and the other one coming up from the back).

Ms. Zhang Ju-hong was a practitioner from the Long-shou Street of Meng-zhou City. She went to Beijing to appeal on October 15 of 1999 and got arrested on the Tiananmen Square afterwards. Later, she was detained in the Qinyang detention center of Henan Province. She was baited out on November 23 of 1999 by her family with a deposit of 10,000 Yuan (a very big sum for an average Chinese family). The police officers did not issue any receipt for that. A month later, on the evening of December 26, she got arrested again at home and was taken to the Bureau of Transportation Police. She has been illegally detained there since then.

Ms. Yang Xia, from Weng-zhou Road in Shang-mao Town of the Meng-zhou City. She went to Beijing to appeal on October 15 of 1999. She got arrested on the Tiananmen Square and got detained in a detention center of Beijing because she refused to tell the police where she came from. During the detention, the police tortured her by burning her fingernail, slapping her face, and dragging her hairs etc in order to force her to tell them her home address. Later, she was escorted back to Henan Province and detained in the detention center of Jiao-zuo City. On November 22, she was baited out by her family with a deposit of 10,000 Yuan. The police did not issue any receipt for that.

Ms. Qian Li-min, an employee of the Rural Credit Union of the Meng-zhou City, from the Qian-tang Village of Meng-zhou City. In October of 1999, she went to Beijing to appeal. She got arrested and escorted back by the local police after she appealed in the State's Appealing Office. She was detained in the detention center of the Weng County. On November 24, she was released and picked up by her supervisors in her workplace after her family paid 500 Yuan of "living expenses". She was then monitored by 6 people appointed by her supervisors. On the evening of December 26, she got arrested again and was taken to the Bureau of Transportation Police. She has been illegally detained there since then.

Ms. Zhong Su-ling, from the Qian-tang Village of Meng-zhou City. In October of 1999, her sister-in-law, her aunt and she went to the State's Appealing Office to petition for Falun Gong and got arrested. Later, she got detained in the Jiao-zuo Detention Center. In November of 1999, she was baited out by her family with 5,000 Yuan without any receipt.

Ms. Zhang Weirong, female, a resident in Qiantang Village in Mengzhou City, Henan Province. In Oct. 1999,She went to the State's Appealing Office to petition for Falun Gong and got arrested. Later, she was detained in Qinyang Detention Center. In November of 1999, she was baited out by her family with 5,000 Yuan without any receipt.

Mr. Qian Zhi-gang, a Party member working in the Rural Credit Union of Meng-zhou City, from the Qian-tang Village of Meng-zhou City. He went to Beijing to appeal in October of 1999. He got arrested afterwards and has been detained in the Meng-zhou Detention Center since then.

Mr. Liang Chang-kai, from the Zheng-xi Street of Meng-zhou City. On July 22 of 1999, he got arrested and was given an administrative detention of 15 days afterwards. After he was released, he was monitored by some villagers. In October of 1999, he was sent to the Meng-zhou detention center for criminal detention. In December, he was baited out by his family with 1,000 Yuan without any receipt.

Mr. Geng Xue-cai, from Cheng-bo Village of Meng-zhou City. In December of 1999, he and other 20 or so practitioners went to Beijing to appeal and all of them got arrested afterwards. They were escorted back and have been detained since then. Before the Chinese New Year, in order to attack determined Falun Gong practitioners, the local government roped him and two other female practitioners in a truck and paraded them through the street.

[He-shang City, Guang-dong Province] Information on Practitioners Suffering from Persecutions

Ms. Liu Lan, 30 years old, home address: #46-603, 2nd Street of Chang-tang, He-shang City, Guang-dong Province. On December 14, 1999, she left for Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. She was intercepted in the Guang-zhou Train Station and escorted back by police. She was then detained for 15 days. Later, at around 7am of January 2 of 2000, she practiced Falun Gong alone in a public area and was driven away by the police officers. At around 5am of the next morning, she and her sister went to a public area to practice Falun Gong and they were taken to the Xin-hu Police Station afterwards. Later, Ms. Liu Lan was sentenced with one year of forced-labor "education". She is now still being detained in the Sha-ping Detention and Education Center.

Ms. Yu Rui-lian, 47 years old, home address: #38-501, Cha-hang Street, He-cheng Town, He-shang City, Guang-dong Province. On July 22 of 1999, she and her daughter went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. They got arrested on the Tiananmen Square when they were taking a rest under a tree. They were then sent to a stadium for detention. On December 14 of 1999, they attempted to go to Beijing to appeal again. They were intercepted in the Guang-zhou Train Station and then got detained for 15 days. At noon of January 5 of 2000, the police handed them another 15 days of detention. However, Ms. Yu Rui-lian has not been released since then. She was sentenced with one year of forced-labor "education". She is now still being detained in the Sha-ping Detention and Education Center.

[Chao-zhou City, Guang-dong Province] A List of Practitioners Being Detained in the Detention and Education Center of Chao-zhou City

Mr. Lin Kai, college degree. He got arrested when dinning with some practitioners in Zhong-shan City. He was given 3 years of forced-labor "education" because he went to Beijing three times to appeal for Falun Gong.

Mr. Hong Hao-yuan, 27 years old, bachelor degree. He was given two years of forced-labor "education" for appealing twice in Beijing and practicing Falun Gong in the West Lake of Chao-zhou City.

Mr. Zeng Shu-gang, high school education. He was given two years of forced-labor "education" for going to Beijing twice and practicing Falun Gong in the West Lake of Chao-zhou City. He had suffered all kinds of torture during detention. He had blood in his stool for a dozen of times.

Ms. Lin Yan-hua, college degree. She was given 3 years of forced-labor "education" for going to Beijing twice and attending a Falun Dafa Experience Sharing conference in Pu-ning City.

Ms. Huang Shao-lan, high school education, was given 2 years of forced-labor "education" for going to Beijing three times.

Ms. Chen Ai-mei was given two years of forced-labor education for going to Beijing to appeal, practicing Falun Gong in the West Lake of Chao-zhou City, and attending the Falun Dafa Experience Sharing conference in Pu-ning City.
