Note: Jiangxi Channel 2 TV in Mainland China showed a news report in early August. It claimed that Falun Dafa practitioner Ge Manzhen wounded her husband's head with a knife out of cultivation insanity caused by practicing Falun Dafa. Such defamation was nothing new in the state-run media in the past year since Jiang Zemin and his associates started a tarnishing campaign and crackdown on Falun Dafa. So what's the real story behind this news report? Please read on. The following letter is from the Ge Manzhen.

Greetings!
As you may recall, your TV program broadcasted a news report concerning Mr. Gong Qianxi. I am Mr. Gong Qianxi's wife, Ge Manzhen, a Falun Dafa cultivator. This news report tells nothing true about what is really going on between my husband and myself. I am hereby writing to provide you with a truthful account to reveal to the public. I hope you will be able to conduct honest media reports by adhering to the professional ethics of journalism. I don't want to see both your TV program and my husband being utilized by the ill-intended government to defame Falun Dafa and deceive the public. The dishonesty of this news report went far beyond my personal story. It is extremely irresponsible for your TV program to report such a groundless story to defame Falun Dafa and mislead the audience.
Before I practiced Falun Dafa, I was a critically ill patient of diabetes. The monthly medical cost of 300 Yuan RMB (US$38) is a huge amount for a divorced woman like myself. I also suffered from a cerebral concussion and other diseases. Known to my family and neighbors, it is an undeniable fact that all these illnesses were miraculously cured after my Falun Dafa practice. I have been married to Gong Qianxi for three years since I began cultivating Falun Dafa. Before I was married to him, I didn't know that he had divorced 5 women who were forced to leave due to his domestic abuse and violence. He sweet-talked me in the beginning and I could never imagine that such a wolf disguised in sheep's skin fooled me.
The marriage started my tribulations. Beating and scolding is nothing new for my daily life. Do you know what caused the fabricated story reported by your TV program? It is because my husband went mad when he found out I returned a lost wallet with 3,000 Yuan RMB (US$380) in it. For a poor family like mine, 3,000 Yuan RMB was a huge amount. Yet for Falun Dafa cultivators, we never take things that don't belong to us. We strictly adhere to the Falun Dafa principles "Truthfulness, Benevolence, and Forbearance." However, my behavior is not understood nor accepted by my husband who does not believe in this. He felt very angry and blamed me for this honest behavior. From then on he treated me even worse. I remembered one early morning at about 2 am when I was lying in bed suffering from high fevers for days, he returned home from singing Karaoke and started beating me for not cooking noodles for him to eat. He held my neck swollen to the point that I was almost breathless. The counter was broken into pieces and the broken glasses scratched his leg. It resembled nothing like what you reported on TV, accusing me of using a knife to hurt him.
I have resorted to the local police station for help several times. However my pleas went ignored. The silence of the authorities seems to be a consensus. My husband became more frenzied. He hit me harder and harder and once I fainted for two hours after repeated beatings from a wooden rod. My husband washed away the blood I spitted out on the floor. When I woke up, he still did not spare me. I had no choice but to defend myself. I picked up a piece of wood in a flurry and hit his head. It turned out there was a nail on the piece of wood that scratched his head; I did not hurt him with a knife as what was reported by your TV program. My husband became so wild that he wanted to kill me. I had to run out to Xianghu police station for help with pains and bruise all over my body. The police officer was shocked at the sight of me. He let me stay overnight at the municipal government conference room and warned me, "Don't you ever return home! Or you will be killed by your husband." A kind policewoman stayed overnight with me in that conference room. I had pain all over my body and couldn't sleep the whole night. The policewoman warned me repeatedly not to leave.
When I decided to go out early the next morning, I saw my husband standing at the main entrance with a knife in his hand waiting for me. He was just about to hurt me when a police officer stopped him. Later on, the police station sent policemen to check the scene at my home. Neighbors also knew about this. I happened to overhear the conversation between my husband and the police officer when they were talking upstairs. The police officer said, "Her family won't let you get away with such terrible violence?" My husband replied, "It doesn't matter. Her whole family practices Falun Dafa (he took practitioners' benevolence and forbearance as weakness and incompetence). One of my army buddies is now working in the city police office. I also know the director of the County Police Department." The police officer said, "You'd better let your friends know first. Fortunately, Falun Dafa is being suppressed and no one would dare vouch for her."
I had a physical examination taken at the County Police Department in the morning. Two ribs on my chest and one on my back were fractured. My lung was swollen and the area around my liver ached. My left arm was almost broken. My urine showed blood streaks for three or four days. The phlegm I spit out was also bloody. The legal MD said, "Your husband should be subject to at least 3 to 5 years imprisonment based on what he's done to you." Yet everything changed in the afternoon. I was told that my husband was injured more than I was. But no medical examination proof was shown. I was also required to reimburse his medical bill of 3,500 Yuan RMB (US$440) and he only needed to reimburse me 350 Yuan RMB.
It is very incomprehensible that a law enforcement body would come up with such a settlement under the disguise of righteousness and justice. It is making a mockery of the law. The dealing under the table is self-evident. The true story is known to all the neighbors in Xianghu. However my story was distorted in your TV report, which picturing me as an insane person practicing Falun Dafa who injured my husband with a knife. The TV report also had a false witness to vouch for his allegation. This false witness is actually a mentally disordered dog-keeper whom Gong Qianxi bribed with for 300 Yuan RMB. Qianxi even treated him to a meal afterwards. Qianxi also tried to bribe many neighbors but was turned down. When the Nightline 800 personally interviewed a neighbor's child, the child replied, "It was not Ms. Ge who cultivated into insanity. It was Mr. Gong who kept hitting Ms. Ge." What an innocent and honest child! Aren't you touched? Yet you never mentioned a word about this in your news report. Though it wasn't expressed, everyone knew the truth in their heart. TV can only deceived a small number of people who didn't know the truth. Lies are always lies. There are still a lot of people who know the truth.
Somebody suggested that I resort to the Women's Association and sue Qianxi. I did not go because I am a cultivator. A cultivator is supposed to be of high virtues and be able to forgive and forget. I just hope that he can repent and improve himself. Yet I can never imagine that he would plot such a fabrication to the media. He told lies to mislead your channel, which in turn told lies to the masses and deceived people by slandering Falun Dafa fiercely. The fact that Falun Dafa and millions of Dafa practitioners all fell to be victims of this smear campaign is most disturbing to me. How can you believe that a woman who had high fever and hadn't eaten anything for 36 hours could hit a strong man so hard that he was injured more than I was? He almost hit me to death on a few occasions. Yet he turned around and accused me of injuring him with a knife out of cultivation insanity. Is this fair? I believe you also have brothers, sisters, wives, or children. If they suffered from such abuse, violence, and injustice, what would you do? You are absolutely not warranted to simply reverse right and wrong just because I cultivate Falun Dafa and discipline myself with "Truthfulness, Benevolence, and Forbearance." Specifically, Falun Dafa is a virtuous practice that teaches people to be kind and honest. The following are the reasons for me to write to you today.
1. I would like to tell you that you were also misled by the lies.
2. I sincerely hope that your TV program can clarify the situation and redeem the adverse impact caused by this fabricated reportfor justice as well as for the integrity of your own TV program.
