Promoting Dafa - Outside the US Supreme Court

[Clear Wisdom Network, 12/16/2000] As the new president of the U.S.A. remained undetermined for so long, lawsuits were at last filed to the US Supreme Court. All major media in the US and around the world would not let go of this golden opportunity. They came to do on-spot reports one after another. Dafa practitioners in DC wouldn't let go of this good opportunity to tell the truth and promote Dafa, either.

On the early morning of Dec. 11, outside the court the area was crowded with voters and people of various circles. Several of our practitioners quickly put up the exhibition boards nearby, and some practitioners started performing the Falun Gong exercises. Some others distributed materials and smilingly explained the practice to people. Many reporters came over to take notes of the content of our exhibition boards; took many pictures and exchanged stories with us cordially. They had all heard about "Falun Gong," but never had such a good chance to find out about us.

A common question during the interview with several reporters was: "Why do you come here today?" I smiled, pointing to the words "Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance" on the flyer: "If there were more 'Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance' in the US, there would be much less quarreling here today. Everyone wants to have a good president, and hopes he will bring them happiness. But Falun Gong can bring REAL happiness to people. We hope that more people can understand Falun Dafa."

Another question was: "Who do you think will be elected?" I answered jokingly: "Whoever truly supports Falun Gong will definitely win." We both smiled. One reporter was very glad to take our materials. He said that he would write a report about human rights tomorrow. There were other practitioners who took the chance to hand out the prepared materials to those important people from the major media.

Some Americans with children read our exhibition boards, and said to their children while pointing to the board: "In China, people are sent to jail for doing exercises like they're doing." Many more voters stood in front of the boards and muttered: "What have they done wrong? The Chinese government must be very corrupt." A Dafa practitioner said: "This is one great trial between good and evil; darkness always fears the light."

Dafa is so irresistible to many Westerners. But the visitors that we welcomed most were those tourist groups from China. We tirelessly received officials from China, and saw them off one after another, in the hope that they would bring the truth of Dafa back to thousands of families in China as soon as possible.

When we came here last year to distribute materials to the Chinese people, what we got were only cold looks, derision, and insults. But now, our Chinese compatriots are slowly waking up. They are beginning to have the will and courage to know the truth, and want eagerly to learn from the Dafa practitioners. The last thing we are afraid of is people's knowledge; the thing that evil fears most is to be exposed to the light of truth. Dear Chinese compatriots, can't you understand, we are standing in the cold wind and facing your ridicule, neither for money nor for green cards (permanent residence status). Truly and really, we are here only for saving you.
